Merritts Pecha Kucha

Hi my name is Merritt Dudgeon I was born in Rockford IL and I lived there for 1 year. Rockford is a couple miles away from Chicago, although I have never visited Chicago, but it is still fun to go to Rockford. I dont remember much from Rockford, but we visit my grandma and my step grandpa, they are so fun to be around and usually my cousins are there too, since they dont live very far away from there. 1Des Moines, Iowa

During my brother and my birth my parents were looking for a new job. My dad finally found a job and then we had to move to Des Moines for his job. We lived in a mansion and we always had something to do there. One thing I remember from Iowa was the huge Thomas tank Engine we visited while we were there, I was so excited and I loved going there.2Orange County, California

After years of living in Iowa we finally decide to move to California for my dads new job there. My parents & my grandparents decide to move to Orange County. We occasionally visited Disney Land and Los Angeles, but since my grandparents lived in Pasadena at the time we always went up there for holiday events. You cant believe the costumes that they had during Halloween!3Birmingham, Michigan

My Grandparents and parents agreed to move to Birmingham because it was really nice and affordable for my parents & my grandparents. We also wanted to move because my grandpa got another job and we decided to move once again. Luckily we really liked Birmingham and the area that we were in, it was also good because we lived blocks away from Quarton so it was easy for my parents to take us to school at the time4

I started elementary school in Eastbluff Elementary for Kindergarten, I dont really remember my preschool so I decided to not use it in the powerpoint. I had lots of friends and I wasnt ready to lose them for the big move. This elementary school was in California and I remember it a lot because I had a really nice teacher and she would always be nice to me and my classmates. 5

1st grade was a tough time for me to adjust because I had no friends during the move but I still had a lot of fun during the first year of school. First grade was in Quarton, but I still didnt give up on friends just yet, I constantly kept on making new friends and by the end of the year I had a lot of friends. My teacher was Mrs. Ziegler and I still keep in touch with her to today.6

I started making more friends in 2nd grade including Nick Nowacki and Landry Gurien. I started feeling a little more secure than I did the year before but I had a really good teacher, so I felt a lot better. I had Mrs. Palombit was my teacher and I thought she was really nice. I think 2nd grade was my real sense of school and the difficulty that will challenge me in the future. I thought I was really lucky with my teachers and I was. 7

Getting into BCS was a exciting for me at the time but I realized that I would lose all the friends that I had previously met in 2nd and 1st grade, but it was okay because I made a lot more friends when I was here. Making friends has never been a problem for me because I always make new ones all the time. I remember the first day of school I showed up crying because I missed Quarton but I had no idea how fun it was after the first day. 8

After 3rd grade I did not do too well in school. It was up to me to find out a way to get better grades than I had but I also did not realize how important it was to get good grades. I ended up doing bad in math at the time because I did not know how to help myself in my studies but I soon found out ways to remember more stuff and I was diagnosed for ADHD in 4th grade so I could get more attention from my mom.9

The transition from 4th to 5th grade impacted me more than it should have. I had a lot of bad grades not because of my work effort, because I wasnt ready for such a big transition. I usually get Bs and As but the grades that I really looked at were the bad ones. I was extremely disappointed and I knew I had a change for next year. 10 th Grade

During 6th grade I finally adapted to the mistakes that I made the year before and I kept on getting better and better grades. I felt that it was dire for me to get grades better than a D so I decided to take a extra effort to get the work done I didnt want to do. I ended up making a big improvement in my grades, but still seeing Cs on my report card meant that I still had room to improve. 11

7th grade I ended up with outstanding grades, better grades than I thought I could ever accomplish. 7th grade was probably one of the easiest grades that Ive ever had most likely because I was ready for the transition and I was ready to improve my work ethic from the year before. I can still change from last year and I plan on improving my grades from Mostly as and bs from all as and maybe a couple bs. Hopefully this works out because I really am determined to do better in school each year.12Daggett

During this summer I had a lot of fun and I met a lot more people than I knew before summer. Camp Daggett was really fun because I went with Carson, this was my first year and I plan to go again next year. It was a new experience that I have had but it was definitely worth it. I had lots of fun and I made tons of friends13Minnesota

Nisswa Minnesota we go up to every year in the Summer to hang out with my cousins, aunts, and uncles that I never see. They live in Minneapolis so it isnt a big drive for them, but for us it is around a 10 hour drive and It takes a long time to get there. We have so much fun up there with our family because we never get to see them. This picture I am on a tube with my cousin & my brother Wyatt. I fell off but it was still so much fun14Saugatuck

We went to Saugatuck for a week to try out new things that weve never done before. This year we decided to come up to Saugatuck with my dads side of our family to spend a week up there with my cousins, aunt and uncle. We had so much fun and the highlight of this trip is hanging out with my cousins, all of them are really young, so I needed to take care of them too!15Free Time with Lucas

When I had free time over summer I did a lot of things. I spent most of the time this summer hanging out with one of my friends Lucas. We usually go to bhac or just hang out at home if we can. We always have something to do and we never get bored. Hes always cool to be around and I always like to hang out with him16Running

Another thing in my free time to do was run. I ran 2-3 miles every day by myself or with my dad or Lucas. I always like running because it is always fun to do and it gets me energized for the rest of the day. I always like to run around 4:00 because it gets me energized for the rest of the day or I just run when Im bored. This summer I probably ran around 2 times a week every week, I always like to run and challenge myself a little bit more every time I run. 17Bicycling

Another activity that I like to do outside is to ride my Bike, I tend to keep bike rides shorter because I dont like to go anywhere that far, usually down to Birmingham and back or just around the lake near my house. Its not much of a work out but I still have fun while riding my bike. Sometimes I take different routes but I usually take 10-20 minutes on bike rides. 18

One more thing that I did over summer was go to movies downtown Birmingham, I went to 22 Jump Street with Lucas & Ricky on the 1st day of school, it was really funny and I had a really good time with my friends. Another movie that I went to this summer was Guardians of the galaxy, I didnt really think it was a good movie but a lot of my friends thought it was great. I still like to hang out with my friends even if I dont like the movie. 19Volunteering / Community Service

Last but not least is the community service that I did over this year was volunteering at BCS for tech crew, I didnt sign up half the time but I still showed up anyways to help out and get my community service hours. I thought it was a good opportunity and I still had lots of fun even though It was working. I ended up doing 9 hours of community service just from volunteering here.
