Flexibility and Power

The Tomoscan III offers the most fl exibility and power available of any automated ultrasound system on the market. It handles all automated ultrasound applications shown on the right.

Flexible hardware and software allows the Tomoscan III to interface with virtually any manipulator used in typical in-service inspections such as reactor pressure vessels, CRDM head penetrations, and pipe scanners. Tomoscan III can be controlled by complex scanners, or as in most cases, control the inspection itself.

The PC-based UltraVision™ software offers the same amount of fl exibility. UltraVision provides a full set of display types, as well as powerful analysis tools. It features dynamic links to Microsoft® Excel spreadsheets, allowing on-time user-defi ned manipulation of data. UltraVision also provides dynamic links to a Microsoft® Access database that provides report generation with user-defi ned report layouts and content. • Flexible and powerful imaging• Phased array capability• Eddy current capability• Effi cient analysis tools• Robust reporting tools

Phased Arrays

For many applications, phased arrays allow inspections 10X faster than with conventional techniques. Phased arrays also allow an optimum focalization of the ultrasound beam, regardless of the transducer’s position, and this with a minimum number of transducers. The Tomoscan III is available with phased array capability, allowing much faster inspections in many applications including welds and tubes.
