President’s Review and Vision

Macao’s tourism industry saw a remarkable rebound due to the positive shift of the economic climate and supportive policies by the Macao SAR Government. The expansion in the industry in the last few years also reflects on the number of our undergraduate students, growing from 404 in 2003 to 1,100 in the academic year 2009/2010. Over the past five years, an average of more than 12,000 students attended our professional training programmes annually.

To capitalize on Macao’s determination to develop into a diversified tourist destination and world class tourism and leisure centre, several large-scale hospitality, entertainment and leisure facilities will soon open. IFT is charged with an even greater responsibility to nurture industry professionals. At IFT, equal attention is placed on quality as well as scope and variety of programmes. In 2009, we introduced the new “Tourism Retail and Marketing Management” bachelor degree programme, as well as “Hotel Management” and “Tourism Event Management” evening bachelor degree programmes, which are tailor-made for working professionals and delivered in Chinese. Regarding professional training, we work with overseas qualifications awarding organisations in offering certification courses, such as the IATA/UFTAA diploma by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), single-subject certificates or group diplomas by London Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Qualifications (LCCI), hotel and tourism training programmes by the Macao division of Shatec Institutes Singapore, various courses in wines and spirits by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), and the list goes on. A new training unit, the “Community Education and Development Programme” (CEDP) was set up in 2009. The unit offers foundation courses to Macao residents for free, with the objective of increasing their awareness of the development in the tourism industry and raising their interest in lifelong learning. In 2010, an agreement was made with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to bring its Master of Hospitality Administration (MHA) – Executive Programme to Macao, paving a new path toward offering higher level education programmes by the Institute.

The outlook for IFT is promising. Over the past 15 years, we have laid a solid foundation for future development; our international network is ever expanding; the new Chinese bachelor degree programmes will open avenues of exchange with well-recognised education institutions in the Mainland, particularly in the Pearl River Delta region. We will also work on diversifying our programmes, including a future bachelor degree programme in culinary arts management and numerous professional training programmes. As the overall quality of the community increases and residents’ horizon expands, there is room for new businesses in the creative and cultural area to bloom. To show our support for this emerging sector, we will develop relevant education and training programmes. The constant support, guidance and encouragement from the Macao SAR Government and the tourism industry as well as IFT’s highly dedicated staff and students give us immense confidence in our endeavours to nurture future leaders in the field.

院長回顧及展望

經濟氣候改善後及在特區政府政策支持下，本澳旅遊業重拾發展動力，而過去數年的

增長勢頭亦反映在學院的學生人數上，由2003年成立初期的404人，至2009/2010學生

人數已超越1,100人，而近五年參與專業培訓的學員則平均每年超過12,000人次。

隨著澳門銳意發展成多元化旅遊城市及朝着世界旅遊休閒中心的方向邁進，多項大型

酒店、娛樂及休閒設施亦於不久將來落成，旅遊學院將更積極地擔負起培育業界人才

的重任。在力求質素的同時，我們亦着重擴展課程的種類及範圍。學院於2009年分別

新增了「旅遊零售及巿場推廣管理」學士學位課程及「酒店管理」與「旅遊會展及節

目管理」兩個夜間學士學位課程，後者以中文為授課語言，為有興趣投身旅遊服務業

人士提供更多持續進修機會。專業培訓方面，學院與多個海外著名機構合辦專業資格

考核課程，包括國際航空運輸協會(IATA)的國際旅遊代理基礎課程證書、倫敦工商會考

試局(LCCI)的單科結業證書或綜合文憑，新加坡舍特學院(Shatec Institutes)澳門分部的

酒店及旅遊專業培訓課程，以及葡萄酒及烈酒教育信託(WSET)的證書課程等。2009年

同時新設了「社區教育發展計劃」(CEDP)，服務範圍遍及社會大眾，為市民提供免費

的基礎培訓，提升對旅遊業的認識和持續進修的興趣。2010年，我們與「拉斯維加斯

內華達大學(University of Nevada Las Vegas)」達成協議，引入該校的「酒店管理行政碩

士學位課程」，邁向更高層次的教育事業。

展望將來，旅遊學院將面對更多機遇，學院於過去15年奠下穩健發展的基礎，與國際

院校交流合作的網絡亦在不斷擴大，新設之中文學士學位課程可望開拓更多與內地，

尤其是珠江三角洲的優秀院校的合作空間。我們亦會提供更多課程選擇予熱心求學的

人士，包括計劃中的廚藝管理學士學位課程，還有各類專業資格認證課程及專業

培訓。隨著澳門市民的水平及眼光逐漸走向國際化，造就出一個理想的環境讓創意及

文化產業盟芽成長，學院將研究開設有關課程，支持本土文化及創意行業的發展。

深信在澳門特區政府及澳門業界不間斷的支持、指導及鼓勵下，配合我們全體教職員

及學生的努力和貢獻，旅遊學院必定能在未來的日子裏為澳門培養更多社會英才。

Joint Seminar “Tourism Integration among Macao, Guangdong and Hong Kong” by IFT and Sun Yat-sen University

Sun Yat-sen University and IFT jointly organised a seminar on “Tourism Integration among Macao, Guangdong and Hong Kong” at IFT on 28 and 29 September, 2009. Professors and scholars from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao attended the academic seminar to probe into the development of tourism in the Pearl River Delta region. IFT and Sun Yat-sen University welcomed colleagues from Peking University, Jinan University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and University of Hong Kong. During the two-day roundtable discussion, they shared their experience in tourism education and research. They also explored opportunities and problems of tourism cooperation in the region.

2nd Asian Academy for Heritage Management Conference - “Urban Heritage and Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities”

IFT and the Asian Academy for Heritage Management (AAHM) jointly organised the “2nd Asian Academy for Heritage Management Conference”, themed “Urban Heritage and Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities” at IFT on 1–3 December, 2009. The AAHM was established by UNESCO and the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM). The purpose is to improve professional training and enhance management capacity in fields related to cultural heritage. The conference examined the relationship between conservation and management of urban heritage and development of cultural tourism. This conference also provided a platform for scholars from around the world to share their findings and encourage academic exchange. A few case studies on Macao cultural tourism were discussed and valuable suggestions were presented for the sustainable development of Macao urban heritage conservation and tourism.

Over 90 delegates attended the conference, including cultural unit executives, tourism and hospitality professionals, architectural and urban planners, executives, researchers, academics and graduate students.

旅遊學院與中山大學合辦澳粵港旅遊學術研討會

旅遊學院與中山大學於2009年9月28及29日合辦「澳粵港旅遊整合學術研討會」，

邀請了十多位來自內地及香港的學者參

與，聯同本學院多位教授及導師探討三地

旅遊業的發展。

在為期兩日的研討會上，來自中山大學、

北京大學、暨南大學、香港中文大學、香

港理工大學、香港大學及本院的學者，共

同探討澳粵港三地在旅遊業合作上的問題

及機遇。

第二屆亞洲文化遺產管理學會研討會「城市文物與旅遊：機遇與挑戰」

旅遊學院與亞洲文化遺產管理學會於2009年12月1–3日於本學院合辦「第二屆亞洲

文化遺產管理學會研討會」；以「城市文

物與旅遊：機遇與挑戰」為題，共同研究

文化遺產管理及保育工作與文化旅遊發展

的關係。「亞洲文化遺產管理學會」是

「聯會國教科文組織」 ( U N E S C O )及

「國際文化財產保護及修復研究中心」

(ICCROM)支持成立的一個亞太區網絡，

網絡的成員是區內致力於文物遺產保護管

理及教育的高等教育機構，目的是推動及

加強區內文物遺產管理的專業培訓。研討

會不單為各地學者提供了一個討論平台，

促進學術交流；其中以澳門為案例而進行

的研究，更為本澳就城市文物保育與旅遊

可持續發展提供了非常具參考價值的

意見。

會議邀到90多名文化部管理人員、旅遊和

服務業專業人士、旅遊目的地市場從業

員、建築及城市規劃師、主管、研究及教

育人員。

3rd International Conference on “Destination Branding and Marketing

IFT, Purdue University, USA, University of South Carolina, USA, and Sun Yat-sen University, PRC, jointly organised the 3rd International Conference on “Destination Branding and Marketing” on 2-4 December, 2009 at IFT. This conference is an outcome of a long-standing partnership among the four organisers. It touched on some imminent issues that Macao is facing and generated useful ideas that can be further explored.

Over 70 tourism and hospitality professionals, destination marketing practitioners, executives, researchers, academics, graduate students, convention and visitor’s bureau executives, event planners and organisers, travel industry members, operators, and travel-related business owners and investors attended this conference.

IFT Train-the-Trainers Workshop for Mount Lushan World Heritage Site

IFT was invited by the Administration Bureau of Mt. Lushan Scenic and Historic Spots - Mount Lushan World Heritage Office, Jiangxi, China to provide a train-the-trainers workshop on the Cultural Heritage Specialist Guides Programme for UNESCO heritage sites. The workshop, facilitated by IFT instructors, took place on 11-13 March, 2010 at IFT.

IFT cements its position as a leading provider of specialised UNESCO World Heritage training to curriculum developers, managers and trainers. Appointed the Knowledge Management Hub of the Asian Academy of Heritage Management (AAHM) in 2009, IFT is committed to the development of heritage management education in Asia. This customised three-day training aimed at improving world heritage guiding and interpretation at the Mount Lushan world heritage site.

The Institute co-organised the “2010 International Symposium on Tourism Resources and Management” on 5 February, 2010 at IFT with the University of Jinan, Shandong Province, PRC.

第三屆旅遊目的地品牌及市場發展國際會議

旅遊學院與美國普渡大學、美國南卡羅萊

納大學及中山大學攜手於2009年12月2 - 4日在旅遊學院舉辦一連三天的「第三屆旅

遊目的地品牌及市場發展國際會議」。

這次會議是一次長期的合作成果，會議探

討了澳門正面對及即將面臨的問題及提出

改善的建議。

會議邀到70多名旅遊和服務業專業人士、

旅遊目的地市場從業員、主管、研究及教

育人員、旅遊局管理人員，節目策劃及統

籌人員、旅遊業從業員和有關企業投資者

參加這次會議。

旅遊學院文化遺產研究中心與聯合國教科文組織合辦培訓課程

旅遊學院應中國江西盧山風景名勝區管理

局世界遺產管理辦公室的邀請；於2010年

3月11至13日期間為該辦公室學習團於學

院開辦「世界文化遺產專業導賞員培訓及

認證計劃區域性導師培訓工作坊」。

旅遊學院是亞太區世界文化遺產培訓課程

開發的先驅；亦為區域輸送文化遺產管理

人及導師，在2009年學院被委任為「亞洲

文化遺產管理學會」的知識管理中心後，

致力發展文化遺產管理教育方面的工作。

是次應邀為盧山世界遺產管理辦公室的管

理層、導師及文化遺產保育課程開發人員

授課，旨在提升盧山文化管理人員在導賞

及演繹文化遺產的能力及專業性，使到盧

山的遊客瞭解文化遺產的真正價值，從而

加強他們的文物保護意識。

基地，在2010年2月5日於本學院合辦了

「2010旅遊資源與旅遊管理國際研討會」。



The objectives of the Symposium were to encourage academic exchanges between the Mainland, Macao and other countries and provide a platform for scholars to probe into the conservation and sustainable development of tourism resources.

The Symposium attracted over 20 professionals and academics from Renmin University of China, China University of Geosciences (Beijing PRC), Beijing Union University (PRC), Beijing Institute of Petro-chemical Technology (PRC), Henan Polytechnic University (PRC), Jinan University (Shandong PRC), IFT and M&D Forum (Australia).

Asia Pacific Tourism Association 2010 Annual Conference

From 13 - 16 July, 2010 Macao welcomed a distinguished delegation to attend the Asia Pacific Tourism Association 2010 Annual Conference - “Competition and Collaboration between Regional Tourism Destinations”(APTA 2010) at IFT.

APTA is an internationally acclaimed association in the field of tourism, comprising representatives from 17 Asia Pacific countries and regions. Its goals are to promote quality tourism research especially in Asia-Pacific, to share research achievements and to exchange ideas between the academia and industry. A conference is held annually and a journal is published quarter-annually.

Two hundred and twenty delegates from Australia, Canada, Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Chinese Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States attended this conference.

中國地質大學(北京)、北京聯合大學、

亞太觀光學會2010年度研討會

亞太觀光學會2010年度研討會於7月13至

16日假旅遊學院舉行。亞太觀光學會為國

際知名旅遊組織，會員來自17個亞太國家

及地區。

亞太觀光學會致力推動亞太區的旅遊

研究，互相分享研究成果及鼓勵學術及商

界同儕間的交流。為此，學會於世界各地

舉行年度會議，其出版的季刊及研究論文

皆作全球性發行。

吸引了共220名來自內地及港澳特區、

澳洲、加拿大、印度、印尼、伊朗、以色

列、日本、韓國、立陶宛、馬來西亞、新

西蘭、菲律賓、新加坡、西班牙、中國台

灣、泰國及美國的旅遊酒店業界學者、研

究員及同業蒞臨本澳及發表論文。

PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOOL (PACES)

PACES aims to train and develop qualified professionals to carry out functions at the operational, supervisory and managerial level in the tourism industry and service sectors. Programme areas include Hospitality and Catering; Heritage and Tourism; Health, Spa and Beauty; Retail and Customer Care; Art, Design and Creative Studies; Language and Culture; Information Technology, Business and Management and Self-Development.

In addition to the programmes offered to the general public, PACES also conducted several courses and workshops for public and private entities in 2009/10. These entities included Electricity Company of Macau (CEM), Office for Preparation of Macau’s Participation in World Expo Shanghai 2010, Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Transport Bureau, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Macao Prison, Academy of Public Security Forces, Macao Hotel Association, City of Dreams, Galaxy Macau, Grand Emperor Hotel, Grand Hyatt Macau, L’Arc Macau, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, Melco Crown Entertainment, Metropark Hotel, MGM MACAU, Shun Tak Holdings (Macau) Limited, SJM Holdings Limited, Sofitel Macau, The Venetian Macao- Resort-Hotel, Wynn Macao and Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau.

服務；創意、設計及藝術；語言文化；

資訊科技、商業與管理及自我提升，同時

亦舉辦了一系列的工作坊及講座。

除為公眾開辦課程外，本校於2009/10年

度也為業界和公營機構特設了多個職業課

作為澳門持續教育體系的一份子，旅業及

酒店業學校於2008學年開始加盟了由教育

暨青年局推出的一項新計劃－持續教育

aims at promoting sustainable development of continuing education in Macao, developing citizens’ lifelong education habit, and motivating them to engage actively in upgrading their knowledge and skills. Currently, 27 PACES courses in different areas are included in the scheme. Students who have completed the courses with an attendance rate of not less than 75% are eligible to receive a reimbursement of 80% of the school fees. In this school year, over 300 students benefited from the scheme.

Technical and Professional Courses Co-organised with Education and Youth Affairs Bureau

The technical and professional education system was created by law in 1996. It aims at developing students’ academic and professional competencies during their 3 years of high school studies. Under this system, PACES has been offering a 3-year Tourism Techniques Programme, in cooperation with the Education and Youth Services Bureau. This year, a new programme, designed to develop students’ competencies in the area of Graphic Design was added to the list.

Preparation Courses for International Qualifications

To provide an opportunity for the public and industry professionals to attain worldwide recognised qualifications, PACES launched a series of courses to prepare participants for several international examinations. The awarding organisations include Confederation of International Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (CIBTAC), International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Bartenders Association (IBA), London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Macao Occupational Skills Recognition System (MORS), ServSafe®, Shatec Institutes and Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

Macao Occupational Skills Recognition System (MORS)

MORS is a vocational skills standard system, developed and launched in 2001, with the support of the European Union. At this moment, skills standards have been developed for 15 occupations. Under MORS, intensive courses and assessments are conducted at least twice a year. To cope with the development of the industry, courses with longer lecture hours, targeted for the public, were launched in 2010.

Since 2002, IFT has been organising an annual competition – Gold Pin – to award 2 professionals in each occupation with outstanding performance. Last year, the final round of the Gold Pin Competition and the Award Presentation Ceremony were held on 23 October, 2009, at the Venetian Macao Exhibition Hall.

與教育暨青年局合辦職業技術課程

職業技術課程教育制度於1996年法定

創立，其目的是利用三年高中教育發展學

生的學術與職業的能力。在這個制度下，

旅業及酒店業學校一直與教育暨青年局合

辦三年制的旅遊技術課程。今年，更推出

一項新課程，此課程是為培訓學生平面設

計技能而設。

國際認證課程

為了提供予公眾與業界人員機會考取國際

認證，旅業及酒店業學校推出多個系列的

課程，目的是為學員參加不同國際考核作

準備及安排。認證機構包括國際美容治療

及美容師聯盟 (CIBTAC)、國際航空運輸協

會(IATA)、國際調酒師協會(IBA)、倫敦工

商會(LCCI)、澳門職業技能認可基準課程

(MORS)、Servsafe®、Shatec舍特學院及葡

萄酒與烈酒教育信託 (WSET)。

澳門職業技能認可基準

澳門職業技能認可基準是一項於2001年由

歐盟支持而設立的職業技能標準制度。

現階段，已發展出15項工種的技能標準。

基準每年開設兩輪課程及評核試。為配合

業界發展，於2010年更推出針對公眾，

學時較長的課程。

自2002年起，旅遊學院舉辦年度金襟針

比賽，在每項工種中選拔兩位優秀專才。

去年，金襟針比賽的總決賽及頒獎典禮於

2009年10月23日在澳門威尼斯人展覽廳

舉行。



Cooperation with Guangdong Province

MORS introduced to Zhuhai No. 1 Vocational School

To advance the cooperation between Macao and Zhuhai and to enhance the service quality of both regions, an agreement was signed between Zhuhai No. 1 Vocational School and IFT for introducing MORS to the school. The first profession introduced was Front Desk; currently, 8 occupations are included in the programme. In the first half of 2010, the first batch of students totaling 143 joined the training programme and achieved satisfactory results.

Staff Development Programme for Guangzhou Yanling Hotel

As part of the staff development programme, Yanling Hotel sent their top management team and a group of Food and Beverage employees to IFT between 20 to 23 July, 2010 to attend a 4-day intensive course. Topics included food production, quality service and food and beverage management.

為促進珠澳兩地合作共贏關係及為提升兩

地人員的服務質素，旅遊學院與珠海市第

一中等職業學校簽訂合作備忘錄，將澳門

職業技能認可基準引入該校。首項課程是

前堂服務員，而現階段共引進了8項工種

培訓課程。於2010年上半年，首批143名

學生參加了培訓課程，並獲良好成績。

為廣州燕嶺大廈開設員工培訓課程

作為員工培訓計劃的一部分，廣州燕嶺大

廈於2010年7月20至23日派出其管理層及

餐飲部人員到旅遊學院進行為期4天的密

集培訓。內容包括食品製作、優質服務及

餐飲管理。

COMMUNITY EDUCATION ANDDEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (CEDP)

As a rapidly developing tourist city, Macao calls for more manpower to join the tourism industry. To meet this demand, IFT established the Community Education and Development Programme (CEDP) in September 2009 to offer foundation training for free to Macao residents.

CEDP offers courses in the following areas:• Culture and Creativity • MICE and Recreational Sports • Tourism, Hotel and Brand Retail • Foundation Training

CEDP also works with a wide range of local community and industry partners, providing free collaborative training programmes and workshops.

Number of Students

For the academic year 2009/10, the total number of registered students was 1,180, an increase of 13% over the previous year.

Among the students, 3% were exchange while 10% were non-local students. They came from Mainland China (including Hong Kong SAR and Chinese Taiwan), Austria, Finland, France, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United States.

Employment Condition of 2008/09 Graduates

In order to understand the career placement of our 2008/09 Bachelor Degree Programme graduates, IFT launched an on-line employment survey from January to March 2010. The overall response rate was 57%. According to the results of the survey, 9.2% of the respondents were pursuing studies or in job search while 90.8% of the respondents had full-time employment. Among them, 67% were employed in the tourism and hospitality sector. The working group had a monthly median salary of MOP10,480.

為了解2008/09學年學士學位課程畢業生

完成學業後的情況，旅遊學院於2010年

1月至3月對他們進行了一項網上就業問卷

調查。問卷回覆率為57%。調查結果

顯示，9.2%回覆者正在升學或求職中，

而90.8%的回覆者擁有全職工作。當中

67%從事旅遊酒店業，在職者之每月薪酬

中位數為澳門幣10,480。

Expansion of International Network

During the academic year 2009/10, IFT continued to expand itsinternational network. The protocols signed this year include:

APETIT Activity

IFT is a founding member as well as an executive member of the Network of Asia-Pacific Education and Training Institutes in Tourism (APETIT), which is established by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). During the academic year 2009/10, the 17th Executive Committee Meeting and the 6th General Council Meeting were held in July, 2010 at IFT.

The APETIT Marco Polo Programme continued to be implemented in this academic year. The Programme enables students from Network institutions to participate in a student exchange programme for a duration of not less than a semester.

INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE @ IFT

Dual Recognition Degree Programme

The Dual Recognition Degree (DRD) Programme is jointly offered by IFT and NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. This initiative is to capitalise on the strength of the programmes offered by both institutions, allowing final year students to spend a year at the partner institution. Upon fulfilling all graduation requirements, DRD students will be awarded two bachelor degrees – one by IFT and one by NHTV. Three IFT students joined the programme this year.

Student Exchange Programme

In order to enhance the global characteristics of its programmes, IFT established the student exchange programme in 1996. So far, participants are mainly students of various partner institutes from Mainland China (including Chinese Taiwan), Canada, Europe, Singapore, South Korea and the United States. Fifteen students joined the one-semester exchange programmes in Austria, Canada, Finland, Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands or the United States this academic year.

為突顯旅遊學院與荷蘭布列達科技應用大

學課程之優點，兩院合辦一年制雙確認學

士學位課程，目的是讓學士學位課程最後

一年的學生有機會參加一年交換生計劃。

成功完成課程後，學生將分別獲頒發旅遊

學院及荷蘭布列達科技應用大學之學士學

位畢業證書。此學年參與的旅遊學院學生

有三名。

交換生課程

為了加強課程的國際性，旅遊學院於1996年展開了交換生計劃。迄今，參加者包括

來自中國內地 (包括中國臺灣)、加拿大、

歐洲、新加坡、南韓及美國友好院校之

學生。本學年共有十五名學生分別到奧地

利、加拿大、芬蘭、日本、瑞士、荷蘭或

美國參加了為期一學期的交換生課程。

Summer International Exchange Programme

IFT and Tourism College of Zhejiang jointly organised Summer International Exchange Programme 2010 from 6 to 12 July on “Chinese Gastronomy and Culture” in Hangzhou, China. This programme aimed at introducing Chinese gastronomy and its culture. Apart from seminars, participants were arranged to have culinary workshops and visit scenic spots.

旅遊職業學院於杭州合辦2010夏季國際交

流課程，題為「中華美食文化」，目的是

讓來自不同國家及地區的學生認識中華美

食及其文化。除講座外，參加者更有機會

參與廚藝示範及參觀當地名勝。

There are two training units within the Institute, the Educational Hotel “Pousada de Mong-Há” and the Educational Restaurant. Both units offer our students a unique opportunity of hands - on practical training guided by professionals in a real - life environment. The training units are open to the public, and government tax and service charges are not imposed.

POUSADA DE MONG-HÁ

With the efforts of the students and staff, Pousada de Mong-Há continues to be recommended by the Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2010 and the famous travel guidebook published in Japan - Globe-Trotter; Pousada de Mong-Há continues to be selected as one of the top-rated hotels in Macao by the famous travel review website - TripAdvisor. We also had a good coverage on “Hong Kong Daily News” in August 2010. All these exposures have attracted more guests to the Pousada, allowing more training opportunities for our students, as well as interns from our worldwide affiliated partners.

Pousada de Mong-Há is popular due to its hospitable and dedicated service offered by IFT students. Our efforts in environmental protection were recognised and the Pousada received the “Green Hotel” award in 2007. In November 2008, computers were installed in all guestrooms to replace newspaper provision. In April 2010, the Pousada has begun to follow the green practices adapted by the Guangzhou hotel industry, providing guestroom amenities only upon request. A heat-recovery system was installed and a solar panel system will soon be implemented. Besides striving to perfect our services, we also upgraded our facilities this year.

To comply with the Performance Pledge Scheme introduced by Public Administration and Civil Services Bureau, the Pousada monitors closely our performance in the provision of accommodation and event services. We also launched a new pledge this year related to hostel service.

名旅遊指南【Globe-Trot ter】推介；

此外，著名的旅遊交流網站–TripAdvisor亦評選望廈賓館為澳門最佳酒店之一。

【香港新報】亦於八月份大幅報導望廈賓

館的特色資料。這些訊息為我們帶來了多

些旅客，為學院及來自世界各地友好學校

的學生提供一個良好的實習環境。

望廈賓館一向以好客及學生的摯誠服務

見稱。在環保工作方面，我們於2007年獲

認可為澳門「環保酒店」。此外，2008年

11月開始，我們在客房安裝電腦以取代

報紙；於2010年4月起，參考廣州酒店業

的環保概念，按客人要求提供日用品。

我們亦採用了餘熱回收系統，並會於不久

的將來實施太陽能系統。望廈賓館致力提

升服務質素的同時，亦於今年進行了設施

優化。

望廈賓館參與了行政暨公職局推出的服務

承諾計劃，住宿及會展服務的各項要求亦

能夠達標。2010年，我們更推出一項與學

生宿舍服務有關的新承諾。

IFT EDUCATIONAL RESTAURANT

Functions and Food Promotions

During the academic year 2009/10, IFT successfully featured a number of banquets for various government entities, institutions and associations such as Education & Youth Affairs Bureau, Macau Government Tourist Office, Consulate General of the Philippines, Macau Hotel Association and Macau Sommelier Association and many others.

Besides these functions, the Educational Restaurant carried out two food promotions and cooking demonstrations. All these functions and food promotions have helped students and industry professionals to interact and learn different cultures, advance their food and beverage knowledge and obtain professional serving experiences.

The 3rd Chocolate Showpiece Competition

Ronald Gonzales, IFT Pastry Artisan, won Silver Medal in the “3rd Chocolate Showpiece Competition” organised by the Macau Culinary Association at the Wine & Gourmet Exhibition, Venetian in October 2009.

The 1st Macanese Cooking Competition

“The 1st Macanese Cooking Competition” organised by the Macau Culinary Association was successfully held at IFT on 23 April, 2010. 在2009/10學年，教學餐廳承接了多個政

府部門、團體及協會的不同類型宴會，

包括教育暨青年局、旅遊局、菲律賓領

事館、澳門酒店協會及澳門專品酒師協

在美食推廣方面，學院舉辦了兩項美食週

活動及美食示範工作坊。透過這些餐飲活

動使學院學生及餐飲業界人士能觀摩學習

不同文化、擴闊餐飲知識及獲得專業的服

務經驗。

2009年10月，澳門廚藝協會主辦之“第

三届澳門糕點大賽”於澳門威尼斯人會議

Macau Idol Charity Dinner 2010

The Work Assignment (WA) namely the “Macau Idol Charity Dinner” was successfully held by the Hotel Management Year 2 students at the Educational Restaurant on 28 May, 2010. All profits generated were donated to the Action Oasis of the Chinese Educators Association of Macau. This charity fund has provided education opportunities to the poor children in mainland China.

Macanese Food Promotion Organised by MGTO

慈善活動

IFT students organised 3 charity activities - “One Person, One Red Packet”; “Macao Idol Charity Gala Dinner” and “Trip to Shanxi and Beijing “, and raised over MOP200,000 for “Action Oasis” to help poor students in Mainland China to further their studies. Action Oasis is an annual charity campaign led by the Chinese Educators Association of Macau.

學院繼續鼎力支持華夏綠洲助學行動，今年已舉行了三項籌款活動，分別為「一人一

封利是錢」、「澳門偶像」慈善晚宴及「山西與北京探訪團」。超過澳門幣200,000圓

的善款已全數送達受惠人士手中。華夏綠洲助學行動是由澳門中華教育會成立的慈善

The Student Union held a fun contest – “Green Fashion Show Competition” and Valentine’s Chocolate-selling Event, to raise fund for Haiti earthquake relief and donated it to the Macau Red Cross.

為了幫助海地災民，旅遊學院學生會舉行了情人節巧克力義賣活動及環保時裝設計比

賽籌集善款，所籌得善款已送捐澳門紅十字會作振災之用。

The Student Union organised a “Charity Music Show for the 8.8 Flood Disaster in Chinese Taiwan”, donations were collected through the sale of admission tickets. With the support of all the staff and students, MOP14,000 was collected and donated to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre.

The 2010 Slow Food slogan read ‘Enhance Macanese Flavour, Enrich Slow Food Culture’ and promoted the values of Slow Food culture as well as the food heritage of Macao to the general public. This event was co-organised by the Tourism Event Management and Heritage Management Year 2 students and all funds raised were donated to Caritas Macau.

UPGRADING AND IMPROVEMENT OF FACILITIES

Facility Improvement on the Main Campus

Along with the development of IFT, the variety of courses and number of students are continuously increasing. To cope with the need for more space, the Mock Front Desk and the Housekeeping Room have been expanded, new offices have been set up and the cooking equipment and appliances in the educational kitchens have been replaced. Moreover, washrooms, the outdoor Multi-purpose Court and the Herb Garden have recently been renovated as well. New outdoor furniture has been placed in the Aerial Garden at Inspiration Building and the patio of Pousada de Mong-Há. Display walls have been put up at the main entrances of both Inspiration Building and Team Building to serve as a platform for sharing and announcing the latest information of IFT to all guests, students and staff.

Establishment of Taipa Campus

As the Main Campus had reached its maximum capacity, Taipa Campus began to operate in the academic year of 2009/10. The 3-storey facility provides classrooms, computer labs and training venues, such as mock restaurant for both Chinese and western cuisines, a wine and tea classroom, a SPA centre and mock-housekeeping rooms. Taipa Campus is also equipped with a reading room, a gymnastic room, a pool table, a table soccer machine and canteen facilities. In order to enhance occupational health and safety of Taipa Campus, indoor air quality and occupational safety analyses were carried out, and necessary improvements of the air-conditioning and ventilation systems were also made accordingly.

Green Campuses

IFT is actively participating in energy saving, water conservation and “3R” (Reduce, Recycle and Reuse) implementation. In terms of larger scale energy saving projects, with the cooperation of the Office for Development of the Energy Sector, IFT has installed a Heat Recovery System at the roof of Educational Restaurant Building. This system transforms the heat generated from the air-conditioners to heat up water and then supply it to kitchens and guest rooms. In addition, solar photovoltaic modules have been installed on the roof of Inspiration Building. The electricity generated from the solar energy is used to power up lightings in the car park. Furthermore, all T8 florescent light-

校本部的設施提升

隨著學院發展，課程種類及師生人數隨之

而增加。為配合教學上的需要，學院對校

本部校園空間進行了重新規劃，包括擴充

了模擬實習前堂櫃台及房務教室，開設新

的教職員辦公室，並更新及改善教學廚房

設備。為優化設施，大部分洗手間、運動

場及香草園亦進行了重整及完善工程。

啟思樓天井花園、後花園及賓館平台等皆

添置了戶外傢具，增加休閒設備。為增加

資訊平台，各幢教學大樓的入口大堂分別

建造了展示牆，讓師生、員工及訪客取得

學院各類訊息。

氹仔校區的設立

鑒於望廈校區的空間飽和，學院於

2009/10學年啟用氹仔校區。氹仔校區共

三層，主要包括課室、電腦室及設有模

擬中西餐廳、茶酒課室、水療中心及酒店

客房的實務課程教學層，為學生提供培訓

及實習機會。同時，氹仔校區還設有閱覽

室、桌球枱、足球機、健身室、小食亭、

休閒區等休憩設施。在職安健方面，學院

為氹仔校區進行了室內空氣質素及安全設

備的評估，並進行了通風系統及相關的完

善工程。

綠色校園

此外，學院亦積極推行節能、節水及推行

三“R”（減少購買、循環再造及循環再

用）等工作。大型節能方面，在能源業發

展辦公室協助下，學院教學餐廳大樓安裝

了餘熱回收系統，將中央空調機組散熱能

量轉化為熱水爐的能源，為廚房及賓館客

房供應熱水；啟思樓亦安裝了太陽能光

伏板，提供電力予停車場的照明使用。

此外，全院用T5管取替T8管、部份地區裝

設紅外線感應器等。節水方面，續步安裝

按壓式自動關閉水龍頭、節水水咀及節水



tubes have been replaced by T5 florescent light-tubes on both campuses, together with the installation of infra-red sensor operated lighting switches in some appropriate areas. In the area of water saving, auto-stop water taps, water-saving aerators and accessories and water-saving shower heads are being installed gradually. The implementation of “3R” has been manifested in the running of a paperless office, the provision of marker refill services, the use of 3-colour waste separation and recovering system, the oil waste recovering system, on-demand provision of disposal guest amenities in our training hotel, and the trade-in of electrical and electronic appliances.

As a result, the total power consumption of the year 2009 dropped 2% compared to 2008 even though the number of student had increased. A slight decrease in water consumption has also been registered. In terms of the use of paper and markers, a significant drop of 15% and 70% respectively was recorded.

As regards greening of the campus, the Institute continues to keep a high proportion of green areas so as to minimise carbon emission and provide a more verdant and ecological campus environment to all users.

化區，在減低碳排放量的同時，為所有用

家提供一個更青蔥及更環保的校園。

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

Network Infrastructure

The computer network infrastructure at Taipa Campus was completed in August 2009. Taipa Campus is equipped with 300 computers and a variety of network security devices such as firewall. A high-speed data link is connected with the Main Campus computer network in real time, so as to constitute a safe, high-speed and stable Metro Ethernet.

Information Security

To strengthen disaster response measures, a new backup centre, which is physically separated from the data centre, was set up at the end of 2009. The campus network anti-virus and anti-spam systems were also updated in the first half of 2010 to reinforce the endpoint and gateway protection.

Administrative and Academic Management

The Document and Workflow Management System has been launched for 2 years. This year, its application was extended to outgoing official documents, personnel profiles and proposals, etc. In addition, more electronic workflows such as eLeave application and eRequest for services were developed. The new function of random selection of suppliers improves the fairness of the original procurement process. Paperless office environment has been established at its early stage.

Moodle, as an e-learning platform, is vastly applied to all programmes offered by Tourism College and extra-curricular activities. Through Moodle, students can not only obtain course information and teaching materials, but, more importantly, also interact with teachers and classmates and exchange ideas online. Teaching and learning have extended from classrooms to the virtual space. The Student Information eServices System was redeveloped and launched in the new academic year of 2010/11 with online services such as enrolment, application for academic records, class attendance log, etc. This is an online platform for student affairs management, aiming at optimising and digitising processes.

氹仔校區電腦網絡基礎建設於2009年8月

完成，區內有300部電腦和各種網絡安全

設備如防火牆等，並通過高速數據線與校

本部電腦網絡不間斷連接，從而構成一個

安全、高速及穩定的都會網路。

資訊安全

為加強災難應變措施，在物理上獨立於數

據中心的備份中心於2009年底投入使用，

而校園網絡的防病毒系統及防垃圾郵件系

統亦於2010年上半年被更新，以加強端點

及網關的防護能力。

行政與教學管理

文件和工作流程管理系統已投產兩年，

今年，應用範圍已擴展對外公函、人事和

建議書等行政文件，另外，學院亦開發了

更多的電子工作流程如申請年假和請求服

務等，新增的隨機選取供應商功能，增加

了原有採購流程的公平性。無紙化工作環

境已初步建立。

Moodle網上學習平台已全面應用到旅遊

高等學校的所有課程和一些課外學習活動

如英語中心等，通過Moodle，學生除了

可獲得課程資料和學習材料外，更重要的

是可與老師及同學進行網上互動和交流，

教與學都不再局限在課室內。重新開發

的學生資訊電子服務系統於新學期正式

上線，提供的網上服務有：選科、申請成

績表、課堂出席登記等等，這是一個學生

事務管理平台，旨在優化及電子化各項工

作流程。



MULTIMEDIA LIBRARY SERVICE

Apart from maintaining the normal services in year 2009/2010, the library has further expanded the services and facilities. User-education training and several external activities have been carried out.

Facilities and Services in Library

In order to cope with the establishment of IFT Taipa campus, a new reading room was set up in the beginning of the academic year 2009/10. In addition to newspaper and magazines provided, 30 computers has been added in Taipa Reading Room, users may also bring their laptop to enjoy the IFT wireless networks (Wi-Fi).

In January 2009, the “Book Return” service has been introduced at the entrance of the library on Main Campus. The facility enables library users to return their items during the closure of library thus provide better flexibility for returning books.

Another new service, “Confirmation of Library Tour Application”, was added in the Performance Pledge List in January 2010. The newly added service aims to assist users in small groups, allowing more customised library instruction course to satisfy the needs of our users.

Activities for Library Users

During the academic year 2009/10, IFT library provided different activities and trainings to users. “The 2nd Good Books Exchange Project” was held to enhance the reading habit of users. The library also worked with databases suppliers to organise “Database Quiz Project” for users to gain more awareness of our subscribed databases and master the usage. In addition, the library cooperated with publishers to organise “Course Book Show Room” to assist academic staff in selecting reference materials to support their teachings and research. All activities have received positive feedback from users.

多媒體圖書館服務

旅遊學院圖書館於2009/2010學年期間除

了維持一般圖書館服務之外，亦致力優化

及持續改善圖書館的設施及服務，進行了

不同類型的讀者服務及對外活動。

設備及服務方面

為配合學院的擴展計劃，圖書館於2009年

9月在學院氹仔校區設立了閱覽室。除了

提供一般報紙雜誌外，閱讀室也提供了約

30台電腦供讀者上網學習，並提供免費無

線上網服務 (Wifi)。

圖書館還書箱於 2010年 1月正式投入

服務，該服務可讓讀者於圖書館閉館時間

後亦可歸還圖書，為讀者提供多一個更便

捷的還書途徑。

2010年1月圖書館增加一項服務承諾為

「網上申請圖書館導覽服務」，讀者可透

過網上申請表預約有關了解或利用圖書館

資源之課程，館員便會確認有關課程之

時間，以小班教學來照顧讀者需要，希望

透過這互動方式讓讀者更了解圖書館及利

用有關資源。

圖書館活動

於2009/2010學年，圖書館舉辦了多種類

型的推廣活動予讀者。當中有：第2屆好

書交換計劃；與資料庫供應商舉辦資料庫

利用有獎問答遊戲；與著名出版商合作舉

辦「參考課本陳列展」，讓教職員透過活

動去選取所需的教材。多項活動皆反應

熱烈，收到預期效果。
