1/2 The purpose of this study lies in the conceptual adjustment
of the travel career ladder (TCL) approach to travel motivation in
Lu- kang town, which is an famous cultural destination in Taiwan.
In this context, the study examined the relationships between
patterns of travel motivation and experience of use. This research
was conducted through the quantitative method. The method of
purposive sampling is applied to collect total 703 questionnaires
from four sampling sites, which are the major attractions crowded
with tourists. Overall results suggested that, the first, in terms
of the tourists of Lu- kang Town, there are multiphase of tourism
motivations,
includingRelax,Stimulation,Recognition,Self-developmentandNostalgia.
The second, four groups have been identified from five motivations.
Finally, according to Pearces concept of tourist career ladder,
there are significant differences of four motivation loadings
across the level of experience of use. The research provides
contributions to future research and the management direction on
Lu- kang visitors.
