Dear All,

As I am sure you have noticed the construction of the new office building has started at the southern end of

the park.

We are working closely with the main contractor to keep disruption to a minimum and your patience is

appreciated when dealing with the additional construction traffic as you enter and exit the park via the

barriers.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or issues going forward.

Just Eat Bikes

Transport for Edinburgh in conjunction with Edinburgh council have advised that they will be placing bikes

and a docking station on the Edinburgh Park central tram stop over the next month as part of the agreed roll

out strategy for this scheme.

Workplace Chaplaincy Update Did you know that Edinburgh Park has a chaplain? This is an independent impartial well-being support service. It is provided on-site to compliment the other staff support services, offered by the various businesses resident in Edinburgh Park. The service is confidential and free to use. “One of the most sincere

forms of respect is

actually listening to what

another has to say.”

Bryant McGill, author Many Person Specifications ask for an employee to have “active listening skills”. Listening in order to understand not in order to reply is an activity which is hard work, rewarding and, more importantly, gives people respect and a sense of self-worth. Listening at work and outside work can build trust, draw people out of themselves, settle disagreements and foster collaboration. Being truly listened to is something which can be profoundly helpful, empowering and meaningful. Someone recently described the work of a chaplain as “providing space in which people can hear themselves think”. So, my day to day job is simply to be around in order to listen to people. There are a number of workplaces that I regularly visit and people either have brief conversations with me at their desks and places of work, or visit me in a drop-in space. Sometimes people book a longer conversation outside of work-space over a coffee. I also provide regular events in a number of places called Listening Posts. These are advertised times when lots of information signposting people to a variety of well-being support services is provided. I can also provide training in listening skills and coaching. Workplace Chaplaincy Scotland is an independent national charity, based on Christian values. Our chaplains provide support to people of all beliefs or none without prejudice, judgement or demands. We work to a robust Code of Good Practice and have a reputable industry-recognised board of trustees. If you would like to explore having regular chaplaincy visits in your business or organisation or if you would like to have a one-to-one confidential conversation please contact me: Esther Elliott.
