會長報告

真的令人難以相信，轉眼一年又過去，下個月農曆新年又到了，想你們都能在剛過去的

假期裏輕鬆下來，享受與家人和朋友相聚閒聊的時間。

農曆新年午餐聚會將于二月十四日在Makarewa School舉行，請各位預留那一天的時間，

屆時我們一同慶祝猴年的來臨吧！

在十一月我們與Philp 和Penny Chan道別了，他們已遷往威靈頓定居；Philip 和Penny是我們華聯會創辦

委員，他們貢獻良多，付出了不少時間和精力來推動華聯會的多項活動，我們感謝他們舉辦中文班，

處理農曆新年的聚餐，陪伴孩子們到但尼丁參加比賽，與個別會員聯絡溝通，還有把每期的會訊翻譯

成中文，方便部分會員閱覽，現在Invercargill和我們都失去了這對義務好幫手，我們各人都會懷念他

們，祝願他們在威靈頓安居，可以多接近家人，生活幸福快樂。

我期待在新年午餐會中與各位見面，祝新年快樂。

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT I can’t believe that last year went so quickly and Chinese New Year is next month! I hope you managed to find some time to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends over the holiday weeks just past.

Our Chinese New Year Lunch date is set for Sunday, 14 February at Makarewa School. Please keep this day free and come celebrate the Year of the Monkey with us.

In November last year we said farewell to Philip & Penny Chan who have moved to Wellington. Philip & Penny were founding members of the Committee and have giv-en a great deal of their time and energy in the activities of the Chinese Association. We have appreciated their input into the Chinese Language classes, the Chinese New Year lunches, giving of their time to accompany the children to the Dunedin Easter tournament, liaising with individual members and last but not least translating the newsletters into Chinese. They will be missed here in Invercargill. We wish them all the very best in Wellington where they are closer to family.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at the lunch. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
