Inha University was first established as an engineering institute in 1954 with the goals of becoming a leader in
research and education, and contributing to the development of Korea.
Today, Inha University is proud to be at the forefront of innovative learning and research. By providing extensive
support for research and learning, Inha has established a reputation for excellence and is equipping students
with the knowledge and know-how to become leaders in their chosen fields.
In order to meet the global trends in higher education, the university has taken special interest in becoming
a globalized university by extending its services beyond national borders. Through strategic alliances and
cooperation with international partners, the university has advanced its education programs and research
capacity to meet the global standards.
The university also has plans to create educational facilities in the area of the new Songdo Complex which
will become an incubator for research and development through partnerships with industries from around the
world. This project will take the governing concepts of the free economic zone and manifest them in the very
infrastructure and programs offered at the campus.
With 60 years of history and achievements, Inha University is committed to maintaining its focus on providing
outstanding educational programs, innovative research and meeting the challenges of globalization. Inha

Inha University annually offers a Summer School program as a part of its devotion to a more enhanced global education. The summer program was first initiated in 2004 to provide overseas college students with hands-on opportunities to learn the Korean language and experience the cultural and academic life in Korea. Since then, the program has continued to develop and be enriched with more unique and diverse activities, while attracting more participants every year.
This short term, intensive program mainly consists of classroom lectures, visits to corporate sites, cultural sessions and field trips to cultural and historic places in general. Through the coursework, international students will have opportunities to better understand the dynamic aspects of the past, present and future of the Korean society.
Summer School (http://summer.inha.ac.kr)
