made in Mammoth Cave which undisputably the effect of thedrouth which has prevailed over this sec ¬ tion for ninety days says the Bowl j ing Green Messenger In some of the avenues where wa ¬ ter from ten to fif teen feet stood it is now perfectly dry In some places where people can walk with ease T and safety the oldest guide or visitor cannot remember to have seen th places without water The effect is more noticeable on Echo river than any place That fa 7 mous stream which normally can only be traversed for a short dis nce owing to the water and the f of the cave being so near each ohjBr can now be traveled for miles and it is claimed that the echoes grand at all times have been intens ¬ lowt waterMany of the avenues and inlets not known to have existed before have been discovered and at th present water stage many miles of avenues and grottoes can be seen While the water is Jow an effo- ttJ will be made to locate the exit of th Echo river and this may result jn some wonderful discoveries Many local people who have visited th cave often some as many asa dozen times are going to the cave to see 1Echo river under present conditions is the first time in the history r of
