Introduction
After years of rapid growth and booming economy, Chinese companies are adjusting to a slowing down of growth. The ramifications of these changes can be seen in every part of Chinese society and in different businesses including the fertilizer and industrial chemical sectors that consumed sulphur and sulphuric acid so voraciously a few years ago. Sulphur demand is still high from the fertilizer sector, but in the current state of oversupply of phosphates fertilizer, the industry is responding with consolidation of companies, vertical integration across the supply chain and diversification of product offerings. In the case of the industrial chemicals sector, current markets such as caprolactum are very weak; however, in the long term the industrial chemicals sector is predicted to grow at a faster rate than fertilizers. Currently 30% of sulphur in China is consumed by the industrial chemicals sector including titanium dioxide, hydrofluoric acid (HF), fibers, fabrics amongst others. So what is happening in these markets to account for this growth?
Speakers lined up to present at this conference will provide you an insight into China’s economical and demographic challenges, how the new government is planning to steer industry through these challenges for benefit of the local population; and how the domestic fertilizer and industrial chemicals industry will respond to these challenges. How will the supply and demand dynamics in China today and tomorrow impact your company and what will be the opportunities and / or threats to your business depending on where you sit in the supply chain?
Hear presentations from Chinese industry experts, associations, research institutes and government bodies discussing the future path in China and learn about the new international and domestic sulphur and sulphuric acid sources supplying the market.
