YouthAn awareness programme on de-addiction was conducted atCherikadai, presided over by Fr. Russel Raj in the presence of Fr.Titus Mohan in which about 200 persons took part.

The first phase training programme for the YCS of Thirithuvapuramvicariate took place at Melpalai from November 6-8. There were 39participants from 14 units. The objectives of YCS, its history, values,aims and relationships were the main themes dealt with.

The general body meeting of the YCS took place at VSCSMarthandam, in which the new office bearers are elected. Thepresident is Selvan Suraj; the vice president is Shiji; the secretary isAbinisha; the assistant secretary is Kensi and the treasurer is Nisha.

An awareness rally on two wheelers was conducted on November 15,Mulagumoodu vicariate youth starting from Chunkankadai andThirithuvapuram vicariate youth from the Cathedral Church campusof Thirithuvapuram; these rallies converged at the Church of St. Maryat Mulagumoodu, where they had a public meeting. The Vicar GeneralFr. Maria Alphonse, the Commission Secretary Fr. Maria Soosai,Dr. Caroline Geetha from the Government Medical College, theMulagumoodu vicariate youth director Fr. Titus Mohan and arepresentative from Agarwal Hospital graced the meeting. 200 youthparticipated in the rally with 125 two wheelers.

Mr. Aruldhas gave a talk on “Freedom of Expression”on November23rd at Udayatharagai in which 27 people from 11 groups participated.

Fr. Maria Alphonse gave a talk on “the Church and the youth” onNovember 29 to the Mulagumoodu vicariate youth animators atUdayatharagai. 24 youth animators took part in it.

WomenMrs. Josephine Jeya gave training in the Mulagumoodu vicariatemeeting in which 37 women participated. There were parish leveltraining programmes at Yettacode and Chetticharvilai on November29 in which 42 and 28 women participated respectively. The topicswere “women and raising children” and “livelihood of women”.

Women group animators visited 17 groups.
