    OKONOMIYAKI Steps

    1. Mix the okonomiyaki flour and the water together in a bowl. Peel and grate the Nagaimo into the same bowl. Mix until they are combined. Cover in plastic wrap and set in the fridge for an hour.

    2. Remove the core of the cabbage and mince it. Set aside to let the moisture evaporate so it won’t dilute the batter. Cut the pork belly slices in half and set aside (You can use shrimp, squid, or other ingredients instead). Take out the batter from the refrigerator and add 4 large eggs, ½ cup (8 Tbsp.) tempura scraps (Tenkasu/Agedama), and ¼ cup (4 Tbsp.) pickled red ginger (Kizami Beni Shoga) in the bowl. Mix well until well-combined. Add chopped cabbage to the batter 1/3 at a time. Mix well before adding the rest.

    3. To make Okonomiyaki Sauce, combine 1 ½ Tbsp. sugar, 2 Tbsp. oyster sauce, 4 Tbsp. ketchup, and 3 ½ Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Mix all until sugar is completely dissolved.

    4. Pour a little bit of a little Neutral Flavor oil and spread it around a frying pan. Heat up the frying pan on medium or high heat. When the frying pan is hot (400F/200C), pour the okonomiyaki batter into a round pancake shape in the center of the pan.

    5. Place 2-3 sliced pork belly on top of Okonomiyaki and cook covered for 5 minutes. When the bottom side is nicely browned, flip over. Gently press the okonomiyaki to fix the shape and keep it together. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes. Flip over one last time and cook uncovered for 2 minutes. If you’re going to cook next batch, transfer to a plate.

    6. Apply okonomiyaki sauce with brush, add Japanese mayonnaise in zigzagging lines (optional), and sprinkle dried bonito flakes (katsuobushi). You can also put dried green seaweed (aonori), chopped green onions, and pickled red ginger on top for garnish.

    IngredientsAll-Purpose Flour - 1 Cup (120 g) A Large Cabbage - 1.6 lb (740 g)Kosher Salt - ¼ tsp Sliced Pork Belly - ½ lb (227 g)Granulated Sugar - ¼ tsp Four Large EggsBaking Powder - ¼ tsp Tenkasu/Agedama - ½ Cup (8 Tbsp)Nagaimo /Yamaimo* - 2-3”(5-8 cm) Pickled Red Ginger - ¼ Cup (4 Tbsp)Dashi* - ¾ cup (180 ml) Neutral Flavor Oil (vegetable, canola, etc)

Okonomiyaki Sauce ToppingsGranulated Sugar - 1½ Tbsp Okonomi sauceOyster Sauce - 2 Tbsp Japanese mayonnaiseKetchup - 4 Tbsp Aonori (dried green seaweed)Worcestershire sauce - 3½ Tbsp Green onions/scallions

Notes*Nagaimo and Yamaimo are types of mountain yam native to Asia. A tuberous root of a climbing vine.*Dashi is Japanese Stock made from Kombu (dried kelp), Katsuobushi (dried and smoked bonito/skipjack tuna that is shaved into thin flakes), Iriko, or Niboshi (anchovies/sardine); or a combination of all or just two of them.*Tenkasu, also called Agedama is the crunchy bits of deep-fried dough left over from tempura.

Sol LeWitt was an iconic American artist whose work helped to establish both Minimalism and Conceptual Art. Sol LeWitt is best known for his large-scale “Wall Drawings,” rigorous arrays of designs, shapes, grids, and colors rendered in pencil and paint in coherence with strict instructions and diagrams to be followed in executing the work. They are usually named ”Wall Drawing” and is proceeded with a number. His “structures”, as he preferred to call sculptures, were variations on geometric shapes, constructed from steel, polyurethane, or concrete, often featuring stacked cubes without sides.

“When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair. The idea becomes a machine that makes the art.” - Sol Lewitt, 1967 seminal essay on Conceptual Art.

In 1692, he was born in Worcestershire, England. Caslon started out as an apprentice to an engraver of gun-locks and barrels. In 1716, he opened his own engraving shop in London. He worked making bookbinders and silver chasers. Caslon became a punch cutter for various presses. In 1726 his roman typeface was fi rst used, later called Caslon. Caslon’s new typefaces gained instant success in England and enabled him to set up a complete type foundry. His types eventually spread all over Europe and the American colonies. One of his fonts was used to print the Declaration of Independence. Caslon’s typefaces combined delicate modeling and Anglo-Saxon Style. In January 23, 1766, he died in Bethnal Green, London, leaving his company to his heirs.

These guys are the best skaters out there. Both parts are incredible with many different amazing tricks. The way Nyjah rides the rails is smooth AF and the way Shane performs all his trick makes he seem like a video game character. They have good history in contest and I never want to have to choose one over the other. They are amazing skaters and both make skateboarding easy. The way they skate is straight out of the textbook.

Vans are one of my favorite shoe and clothing companies. And, of course, their skaters are gnarly. Kyle Walker was SOTY in 2016 and has landed one of the dopest 50-50s I’ve ever seen. The kickflip from inside the apartment complex into the street is also insane. I love watching that one back. Chima has an insane part also. It’s a classic for me because it was one of the first videos I watched when I started skating. They are both gnarly skaters and love seeing what they do.

Make sure a block of text isn’t too large and 12 pt font is not too small to use.Do not center a block of text - it may make it too difficult for the audience to read.Do not stack text vertically. Text was designed so that the letters can be side by side. Stacking text works well rarely.Limit colors so that the most important aspect is the Typeface.Make sure you have the correct canvas size and grid layout. Don’t put text extremely close to the edge of the page. Define your Margins.

Text that goes straight across the page is harder to read so consider using columns. Do a better job lining up the columns for organization. Using the grids help.

Don’t use enter to separate paragraphs. Use the paragraph and character tools.

Remember to check for errors and to embed. Also remomber to check for widows and orphans.
