Ma#hew 16:24-‐2724 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my
disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but
whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or
what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then
he will reward each person according to what they have done.

His blood poured out for us The weight of every curse upon him
One final breath He gave As Heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness A baOle in the grave
The war on death was waged The power of hell forever broken
The ground began to shake The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome Now death where is your sQng
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated
DEFEAT
Colossians 2:14-‐15 God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14
having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to
the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authoriQes, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the
cross.
