Dear Fellow Rotarians, !In this "Light Up Rotary" year,

Rotary Day have been successfully organized in big cities of District 3420 including Solo and Semarang; and early this month, Rotary Family Day was magniBicently organized in Bali and opened by the Governor of Bali. Rotary day is Rotary International PR program recommended by President Rotary International Gary CK Huang to widely promote Rotary to the community around the world which at the end is expected to attract the communities to support and join as Rotarians in one of the Rotary Clubs.

!DG Message……… !When Rotary widely expose its existence through mass activities such as this, we found out that so many people are extremely impressed with what Rotary have been doing, this will surely bring huge pride and delight to the Rotarians who are involved !The great year of "Light Up Rotary" is entering its ninth month, it means we have 3 more months to craft our outstanding prestige !Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is another important must program to be organized by the District at least once in a Rotary year. This year, District 3420 have organized two area level RYLA; thank you to RC BALI CANGGU, the Host for Junior RYLA, and recently RC Bali Ubud Sunset also successfully held RYLA for the young generations in Ubud, among others to identify member prospects for the Rotaract in Ubud. Thank you RC UBUD SUNSET. !The soon to come RYLA of District level is going to take place in Solo from March 26th -‐ 29th, 2015. Clubs who have not participated in RYLA program, to please send and register your participants to RYLA Solo Committee. Club participating and sponsoring participants will get additional credit points for the Presidential Citation Award. ! Please remember to Bill up the Presidential Citation Award and let your prestigious achievements be recognized, and sent the form to RI before March 31st, 2015. On 28th February 2015, D3420membership data at RI showed the record of 1094 members, it means there was a signiBicant increase in our membership. Meanwhile, our year-‐to-‐date TRF contributions have reached US$. 153,947.-‐ More than 15 projects processed by the clubs : District Grants, Global Grants as well as club to club projects !Thank you to the Best Class Club Presidents , District OfBicer and All Rotaraians, who work extremely hard to support and put together their maximum efforts to reach our goal target. We still have time for a better achievement; I would like to invite all Rotarians of District 3420 to keep up our spirits high and hope that we may achieve our original forecasted goal target as we have planned at the beginning of the year. !"Light Up Rotary"

March 2015 In Rotary, we have the opportunity to build bonds of friendship with fellow Rotarians around the world. And once a year, at our international convention, we have the chance to get together with all of our Rotary friends, to share new ideas, plan new service, and just have fun. !What better way to celebrate the end of the 2014-‐15 Rotary year, and Light Up Rotary with your friends, than to travel together to the 106th annual Rotary

International Convention in São Paulo, Brazil? !Whether you have never been to a convention before or are an experienced convention goer, this will be one you won't want to miss. Preregistration pricing ends on 31 March, so plan now for the biggest Rotary party of the year. !The convention will begin on Saturday, 6 June, and after the opening ceremony there will be a traditional Brazilian Carnival party and a Samba School Parade at the Anhembi Sambadrome. Even if you think you have no rhythm or can't carry a tune, you will Bind yourself dancing, singing, and laughing all night long. The party and parade will feature the bright colors, feathers, and sequins of Carnival costumes as well as the sights and sounds of samba, the Afro-‐Brazilian music and dance, and the delicious food and drinks of São Paulo. !On Monday night, Ivete Sangalo, winner of two Latin Grammy Awards, will entertain Rotarians. And every evening of the convention, Rotary Restaurant Nights will let you enjoy discounts in the culinary capital of Latin America. Savor Bish from the Amazon, sushi with a Latin Blair, Brazilian beef, and other offerings from some of São Paulo's 30,000 restaurants and bars. Admission to several museums in São Paulo, including the excellent soccer museum, will also be free with your convention badge. !Brazil reBlects a diversity almost as great as Rotary's: Paulistanos, as the people of São Paulo are known, have created a lively culture with inBluences from all over the world. One of the highlights of any Rotary convention is always hospitality night, where you can get to know local Rotarians. Monday night is your chance to experience the paulistano lifestyle with the Rotarians of Brazil – but be sure to book early, as numbers are limited. !In Rotary, service and friendship go hand in hand. EREY BANNER UNTUK 7 CLUBS DI D 3420

Bulan Maret 2015 memang luar biasa bagi D3420, dengan ditandai 7 club yang memperoleh EREY Banner. EREY Banner ini diberikan kepada club-‐club yang seluruh anggotanya menyumbang ke Annual Fund The Rotary Foundation (TRF), dengan rata-‐rata sumbangan $100 atau lebih. !Ke 7 club yang menerima EREY Banner dari D3420 adalah: 1. RC Solo Kartini, 2. RC Bali Kuta, 3. RC Semarang Kunthi, 4. RC Surabaya Kaliasin, 5. RC Kudus, 6. RC Semarang Sentral. 7. RC Bali Benoa. !Berbeda dengan D3420, jumlah penerima EREY Banner di D3410 justru menurun dari 3 club bulan Februari menjadi 2 club pada Maret 2015. RC !Jogja Merapi yang sudah memperoleh EREY Banner bulan lalu, kini tidak memperoleh lagi. Hal ini terjadi karena RC Jogja Merapi menambah 3 anggota baru. Anggota baru ini masih belum ikut menyumbang ke Annual Fund TRF, sehingga presentase penyumbangnya turun dari 100% menjadi 84%. Padahal, kalau saja masing-‐masing anggota baru ini menyumbang $10 sajan RC Jogja Merapi akan kembali ke posisi memperoleh EREY Banner. !Jadi bagi club-‐club yang sudah menerima EREY Banner dan menambah anggota baru, harus sesegera mungkin menghimbau anggota baru itu untuk turut menyumbang ke Annual Fund TRF, agar EREY Banner masih bisa dipertahankan. !!ditulis oleh PDG Moh Ridlo Eisy

!!The Rotary Foundation and UNESCO-‐IHE Institute for Water Education, which are working together to tackle the world’s water and sanitation crisis, this year will award a limited number of scholarships for graduate students at UNESCO-‐IHE’s Delft campus in the Netherlands. !The partnership aims to increase the number of trained professionals who can devise, plan, and implement water and sanitation solutions in developing areas. !The scholarships also are designed to promote long-‐term productive relationships between Rotarians and skilled water and sanitation

professionals in their communities. !Scholarship applications, for studies in 2015-‐17, can be submitted online. berdatangan dari berbagai daerah menjalani Pelatihan Kepemimpinan (RYLA) di

Solo. Agenda dibagi menjadi sbb: Hari 1; Leadership &

Ilmu Kehidupan, Hari 2 ; Go Nature Hari 3; Go CulturePP Febri H Dipokusuma,

selaku D3420 RYLA Chair, 2015,dengan dibantu oleh

seluruh Rotary Clubs di Solo mengemas acara RYLA dengan apik. DG Hanny Arianto dalam kesannya

mengatakan bahwa RYLA SOLO 2015, merupakan

salah satu RYLA terbaik yang pernah diadakan di D3420

Thema RYLA Culture & Nature dipilih dengan pemikiran bahwa seorang pemimpin kedepan haruslah seseorang yang paham dan peduli pada lingkungan dan budaya bangsanya. !Pembukaan RYLA dihadiri oleh ke;ga President RC Solo dan dibuka oleh DG Hanny Arianto yang ditemani oleh PDG Al Purwa, DGE Mufid, PDG Panudiana Kuhn dan semua AG daerah Solo. Hari Pertama merupakan pela4han Leadership & Ar4 Hidup, yang diisi oleh Pdg Al ( All About Rotary & Public Speaking), DGE Mufid (Leadership), PP Robyn (All about Rotaract), PP Febri (Character Building & Refleksi Diri). Acara selesai pada jam 04.00 dini hari. Yup…jam 4 pagi hari. Hari kedua, Go Nature, dimulai pada jam 7 pagi. Dengan bercaping & berkaos RYLA, peserta dibagi menjadi beberapa kelompok yang harus melalui berbagai berbagai ak;fitas di 5 pos yang berbeda, mulai dari pengenalan rempah-‐rempah sampai Outbound team building dan diakhiri dengan Cultural Performance pada malam harinya. Hari Ke-ga, Go Culture, tepat jam 7 semua peeserta sudah siap di depan hotel untuk melakukan kerja bak; bersama dengan masyarakat di lingkungan Keraton Hadiningrat. Disini terlihat masyarakat & peserta RYLA bahu membahu bergotong royong membersihkan semua area termasuk selokan dari sampah-‐sampah. Acara diakhiri dengan Ginastel (teh Legit Panas dan Kental), sebelum peserta diajak masuk dan melanjutkan kerja bak; di Ndalem Suryohamilayan, yaitu rumah Pangeran yang berbentuk Joglo dan sarat nuansa Budaya. Acara ditutup dengan pemilihan Ms & Mr RYLA terbaik yaitu Rotaract ReXy dari RAC Denpasar dan RYLAN Agam dari Machung Univ. !Semoga RYLA kali ini dapat memberi sumbangsih pada bangsa ini demi terlahirnya pemimpin yg berkualitas. di tulis oleh PP Febri H Dipokusuma -‐ D3420, 2015 RYLA

‘ ROTARY PEDULI” 22 Maret 2015 - RC Clubs se SURABAYA

Lebih dari 500 warga berpartisipasi dalam acara SENAM TAIBO sebagai salah satu acara ROTARY DAY yang diselenggarakan oleh Rotary se Surabaya. Acara yang disponsori oleh para pengusaha yang terdiri dari Rotarian maupun kalangan umum, dimeriahkan dengan berbagai pengobatan gratis akupuntur, kanker

rahim, pembersihan telinga dan berbagai hadiah menarik bagi peserta . Selamat kepada ‘chairman” seluruh team dan Rotarian atas suksesnya acara “ROTARY DAY” ini. Acara juga ditayangkan di JTV dalam acara “EVENT”.

RC of ANGING MAMMIRIBusiness lunch & Sarapan Sehat Anak Pelangi

RC Surabaya Jembatan Merah

Pada 7 Maret 2015, RC of Anging Mammiri bekerjasama dengan PusatPasar Modal dan BNI Sekuritas, melakukan Business Lunch Forum . Selain itu kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam rangka mengenalkan Rotary kepada masyarakat.

Setelah sukses dengan acara tersebut, kembali RC Anging Mammiri melakukan kerjasama dengan Nestle Indonesia, Taman Bacaan Pelangi Indoneisa dan Yayasan Batawa Gowa. Dalam acara ini sejumlah 350 sarapan dibagikan kepada anak-anak Pelangi.

Kota Surabaya relatif bersih dari pengemis dan gelandangan, yang ternyata sejumlah 1,400 pengemis dan geldangangan ditampung di Lingkungan Pondok

Sosial (LIPONSOS), Keputih - Surabaya. Dalam rangka bakti sosial, pada tanggal 15 maret, RC Surabaya Jembatan merah membawa 2 orang dokter untuk melakukan pemeriksaan terhadap 50 pengemis/gelandangan yang terindikasi memiliki penyakit serius, seperti TBC, penyakit kelamin, kanker kulit dan beberapa penyakit lainnya.

Beberapa hari sebelumnya RC Surabaya Jembatan Merah juga melakukan Seminar dengan topik “Customer Immersion” dengan bekerjasama dengan Huang Business Club (Perkumpulan Marga Huang Surabaya) dan didukung oleh PT Microsoft Indonesia. Acara yang dihadiri oleh 70 peserta yang rata-rata pebisnis, berlangsung dnegan menarik dan informatif. Pada saat itu juga diberikan inforsai singkat mengenai kegiatan Rotary di kota Surabaya. RCC ini bermula dari usaha RC. Solo Kartini membantu masyarakat kecil yang mempunyai usaha kecil home industry di berbagai bidang dengan memberikan soft loan/mikro kredit dengan bunga ringan. Ini sudah berjalan selama 3 tahun dari th. 2011 s/d sekarang.Bidang2 usaha yang diberikan bantuan a.l. untuk usaha penjahitan, warung sederhana, pengrajin blangkon, pembuat snack rumahan dll. !RCC Maju Utama ini mempunyai anggota sebanyak 35 pengrajin blangkon di rumah2 dan telah mempunyai sistim administrasi dan organisasi yang cukup teratur. Sampai dengan saat ini pengembalian mikro kredit mereka cukup teratur dan lancar. Sehingga pada akhirnya kami memutuskan untuk menunjuk mereka sebagai RCC kami dan memberikan peningkatan modal kerja bagi mereka. !Rencana pada masa yad, kami akan memasang papan nama di jalan masuk ke kampung mereka dengan mencantumkan logo RI sehingga masyarakat luas akan lebih mengenal Rotary dan program2 kemanusiaannya. !Ditulis oleh PP Mariam Kartonagoro

RCC JANGLI PINTAR - RC Semarang Kunthi

Dari Semarang, Pres Lina Tedjokusumo juga mengumumkan berita gembira atas lahirnya Rotary Community Corps JANGLI PINTAR yang disponsori oleh RC Semarang Kunthi. !

RCC yang lahir tgl 04 February 2015 ini anggotanya terdiri dari para pengrajin yang bergerak di bidang handicra] dari bahan limbah/daur ulang; kerajinan bordir dan pembuat berbagai snack.

Dengan diakuinya RCC Jangli Pintar oleh Rotary Interna;onal, semoga dengan pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh RC Semarang Kunthi bisa meningkatkan ketrampilan dan pendapatan anggotanya.
