The Quick Start Guide to LEGO® Education WeDo™

LEGO® Education

To get you started with your LEGO® Education WeDo™ here is a copy of the model and program shown in the demonstration.

At LEGO® Education we understand the importance of providing creative and engaging classroom solutions. We also recognise that seeing products demonstrated and then being able to get the most out of them in the classroom can be a bit of a leap. Therefore we have pulled together this support package for you that not only supports what you have learnt in the demonstration but also enables you to try them out back in your classroom. It also provides you with further support information that will enhance the teaching that you deliver with your LEGO Education products, ensuring you bring the best educational experience to your students.

This brochure includes the build guides for the models that you have seen demonstrated today along with the program to help you develop your own fully functional model. It also introduces you to the new LEGO Academy which provides tailor made courses to teachers using the LEGO Education products and delivered by certified LEGO Education trainers. There is also details of a new website that provides free support material and ideas to help you get the most out of your LEGO Education products.

We hope you find this information useful and that it helps to support you as you discover the benefits and enjoyment that using LEGO Education products can bring – to you and your students.

The Hungry Alligator program uses the keyboard controls to start the movement. The Start On Key Press Block waits for you to press the A key on the keyboard. Then it turns on the Motor That Way (counterclockwise) to close the jaw. Next, the program runs Play Sound 17, the Crunch sound. Then it turns on the Motor This Way to open the jaw. The motor runs for seven-tenths of one second and turns off.

To change the Start On Key Press letter, place the mouse over the Block and type a different letter key. You can also type a number key or one of the four arrow direction keys.
