    Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL) has won the prestigious

    Routes Airport Marketing Award for 2012 in the Middle East & India category at

    the 10th Routes Asia Airport Marketing Awards ceremony held in Chengdu in the

    presence of global airlines and airport representatives. The other participants

    shortlisted in this category were Abu Dhabi and DIAL.

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajeev Jain, CEO, Mumbai International Airport Pvt.Limited (MIAL) said, We are proud that MIAL was considered to have the greatest

    overall impact on the route network development plans. Winning this award truly

    recognizes the marketing efforts made by the Airport Marketing & Aero Business team

    with active support from other departments. This win will further propel us to scale

    greater heights of excellence in performance.

    The winners were evaluated basis the execution of their marketing activities in

    the previous year that included market research & communications activities and

    their business case presentations for new market opportunities and joint

    communication campaigns with third parties during the year. Airlines from the region

    voted for the airports that they felt best excelled in the execution of this

    strategy.

    Mumbai has also been selected as host city & Chhatrapati Shivaji International

    Airport (CSIA) has been selected as host airport for Routes Asia 2013.

    Mr. Nigel Mayes, Vice President & CommercialRoutes commented MIALs clearly

    thought through submission demonstrated how much it has achieved in the field of route

    development, demonstrating a clear strategy, how MIAL works with airlines and the type

    of research it undertakes in order to win new air services.

    Traditionally Routes Asia as an event has been attended by leading airports and

    airlines. Being chosen as a host is an opportunity to showcase the economic,

    industrial, and tourism potential of the host city and its airport. Additionally,

    Routes Asia also offers an opportunity within a short period of time to conduct a

    number of one-to-one meetings between airports and airlines from Asia. Over 17

    years of its existence, Routes has acquired a well deserved reputation and has

    proved its claim of being the main aviation event in Asia helping make

    connections between airlines and airports.

    CSIA is a standing participant of the Route Development Forum (World & Asia).With a total of 48 international passenger airlines, and 7 domestic passenger

    airlines currently operating more than 680 flights a day while directly linking

    Mumbai to 83 airports in India and worldwide, CSIA offers unmatched

    connectivity. This coupled with CSIAs handling efficiency over the last five yearsand the extremely challenging environment it operates in has made it one of the

    most important emerging aviation hubs in India and the Asia Pacific Region.
