In Japan there are three different scripts used.
Hiragana ひらがな
Katakana カタカナ
Kanji 漢字
How to write hiragana
When writing in any language there is a correct and an incorrect way to write.
Follow the information about stroke order on the following slide.
Have fun learning to write the 46 symbols of Hiragana.
Stroke Order
Things to remember.
Symbols are written from top to bottom.
Horizontal strokes are written from left to right and before vertical strokes.
Vertical strokes are written from top to bottom.

く is a one stroke symbol, remember to start from the top.
し is also written as 1 stroke starting from the top.
そ can be written as one stroke or two.
Start つ from the top left.
て is written as 1 continuous stroke.
の , is written as 1 stroke starting in the centre.
ひ is written as 1 stroke starting from the top left.
へ is written as 1 stroke starting from the bottom left.
る is written as 1 stroke starting from the top left.
ろ is written as 1 stroke.
ん is written as 1 stroke starting from the top left.
