Directions:Read to the first STOP mark Discuss- What does it mean to be more intentional in the use of formative assessment?

Read to the second STOP mark Discuss- What does it mean to make math explicit for teachers and students?

Read to the third STOP markDiscuss- What does it mean to teachers to use assessment information to guide teaching?

Read to the fourth STOP markDiscuss- How does student involvement in their own learning occur in classrooms?

Principle of Formative Assessment Posters

As a table group create a poster with these elements:

Principle Number Conversations- about the principle that you

might facilitate at your school with teams of teachers (e.g. Grade level meetings, 1 on 1 sessions)

Classroom Observations- as you observe teachers in their classrooms, how might the principle look in action?

MMP Tools- that support your work with teachers, and how the tools might be used?

MMP Continuum Stage- Where and how is the principle aligned to the MMP Learning Team Continuum?

In the time remaining

1. Introduce yourself to someone new!

2. Find someone at the same “place” you are on the continuum and establish an informal network for fall work.
