Condair MK5Resistive steam humidifier with scale management

The Condair MK5 can operate on anywater quality. When used with ademineralised water supply thehumidifier can offer ±1%RH control andrequires very little maintenance.

Due to the system’s patented scalemanagement system, even when thehumidifier is operating with hardwater, the scale can easily be removedquickly and efficiently.

Resistive heating elements offer close controlConsistent and accurate humiditycontrol is offered with resistance heatertechnology. Unlike electrode boilerhumidifiers, the water level inside theheating chamber remains constant andthe heating elements continue tooperate even during mineral dilutioncycles. This provides a consistent steamoutput and accurate humidity control.

Incoloy heating elements with stagedoperation prevent current peaks on startup. Scale detaches from the elementsduring operation and falls into the scalecollection tank at the bottom of thehumidifier for easy removal.

Innovative pumped drainThe drain is located above the scalecollector tank so that scale collects inthe tank rather than blocking drainpipework.

When operated on mains water allsteam humidifiers build up limescale inthe boiling chamber as waterevaporates. How a humidifier managesthis scale determines how easy thesystem is to use and service. TheCondair MK5’s patented scalemanagement system makes it theeasiest and most user-friendly steamhumidifier in the world, ensuring longoperational periods and shortmaintenance intervals.

Quick and easy to serviceScale that forms on the heatingelements cracks off as they expandduring operation. The scale then fallsinto a scale collector tank located at thebottom of the system.

The externally located scale collectortank allows servicing to take placewithout having to open thehumidifier’s casing. To remove thescale, the system is drained, then thescale collector tank is unlocked andlowered with its ergonomic handles.The tank is then emptied andreattached allowing the system to beoperational again within minutes.

Innovative pumped drainAs scale falls down into the scalecollector tank, the drain pump, which islocated above the tank, is kept free ofscale. Unlike other humidifiers, thisavoids blockage of the pump anddrainage pipework.

An optional feature enablesthe linking of the Condair MK5 to abuilding management system. Controland monitoring of the humidificationsystem can then be carried out from aPC.

The card allows eachhumidifier in the system to beindividually addressed. The interface iscompatible with Modbus, BACnet/IPand LonWorks protocols.

The Condair MK5 can operate onmains, softened or demineralisedwater. When used with mains waterthe humidifier will provide up to±2%RH humidity control and up to±1%RH when used with ademineralised supply.

A demineralised supply will alsovirtually eliminate scale build-upwithin the system, reducingmaintenance time and operating costs.It also reduces the overall energy

consumption of the humidifier, as thesystem isn’t running dilution cycles tocontrol the water’s mineral content,which avoids sending expensive hotwater to drain.
