cyprinids bersaing untuk gelar vertebrata terkecil hidup);

Ikan terbesar adalah hiu paus (Rhincodon) - mencapai panjang hingga 12m +; Samudera sunfish (Mola mola) = berat dua ton, dll.;

tuna, ikan todak, seabasses raksasa dan panjang jangkauan lele 10-12 meter dan berat setengah ton.
