ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management 2 days 9:30- 4:30 The ILM level 5 Award is a qualification designed for project managers, department heads and other practicing middle managers who are seeking to develop their existing leadership skills and performance in order to prepare for senior management responsibilities. The units delivered will cover a range of key leadership components from becoming a more effective leader to managing stress and conflict in the workplace. Throughout the workshops there will be a number of different training methods utilised by the tutor to cater for all learning styles and these will include the following – theory, team exercises, individual questionnaires, discussions/debates and YouTube clips. Reflection time will be built in to cater for learning points to be consolidated; this will enable a clear link to be made between learning and the practicalities of the workplace. You will also discuss the assessments needed for the qualification and the tutor will guide and support you through the requirements.

Content:

Becoming an effective leader

To develop knowledge and understanding of developing and leading teams to fulfill the key responsibilities of the leadership role. Be able to set direction and gain commitment of others.

Stress and Conflict

To understand the effectiveness of own organisation in dealing with workplace stress and conflict and be able to improve the management of workplace stress and conflict in own area of responsibility.

To use a range of leadership theories to support and improve leadership practise
