Sufijos
Los sufijos se clasifican en flexivos e inflexivos:Inflexivos: Ocupan siempre la posición final de la palabra y la información que ofrecen es de tipo
gramatical, (género, número, persona, modo etc). Hay ocho tipos de sufijos inflexivos:
Sufijo inflexivo Ejemplo-ed
(pasado o pretérito verbal)The engineer discovered a wellHe looked for chance
-ed/ -en(participio pasado verbal)
The engineer has discovered a wellThey have written the essays
-s/ -es(3ra.Persona singular en presente simple.)
He discovers a wellShe does her work
-ing(Presente participio)
He is working in a new shaftThey have been studying the theory
-er(adjetivo comparativo)
He is smaller than herThe thicker book is mine
-est(adjetivo superlativo)
He is the smallest of allShe has the highest grade
-s/ -es(plural)
The scientists developed some methodsThe scientist used two new approaches
-´s(posesivo anglosajón)
John´s technique is very interestingThey broke the table´s legs
Flexivos: muestran las diversas posibilidades o flexiones de una palabra. Son modificadores de la claseo categoría gramatical de algunas palabras:

Ejemplo
Sustantivo( -ence, -ance, -or, -er, -ment, -list, -ism, -ship,
-ency, -sion, -tion,-ness, -hood, -dom)

Verbo(-ify, -en, -ate, -ize)
Those gases originate the contaminationThey realize the problem
Adjetivo(-ous,-y, -ful, -ic,-ish, -ary,-ive,-able, -less, -tial,
-ible)

Adverbio(-ly, -wise, -ward)
