• 248 M€ ERDF financing for projects• ERDF financing 75 % (Finland, Sweden, Denmark,

financing from the state• Typical total project budget is 1-5 M€• Typical project duration 36 months

Two step application system: first step

• “Concept note”, simple pdf-format• Relevance related to programme objectives and priorities• Transnational added value• Activities - results• Partnership• Budget• Concept note is not full application, financing statements

are not needed, new partners can be added

Two step application system: second step

• Only applicants approved from the first step can submit an application

• Full application to the electronic system• More detailed than concept notes, e.g.:• Detailed description of activities, working packages and

time schedule• Result indicators• Detailed budget• Financing statements and other formalities

• Implemented December 2014 – November 2015• 282 concept notes – 81 approved for second step• 78 full applications• 35 projects approved to be financed• 90 million euro ERDF financing committed• First projects are just now to be contracted and beginning

their activities
