Huawei Symantec Integrated Picture Archiving and Communication System (iPACS) is a comprehensive application

system aiming at the medical industry or collecting, storing, and managing the medical images generated by digital

medical equipment in hospitals. It applies to the departments o all kinks o hospitals that are planning to build a

PACS.

Product Features

Integrated Architecture

The iPACS, integrated with the server, switch, storage

device, and storage management sotware, acts as a

hardware platorm tailored or PACS applications in

hospitals. Designed with the high-integration tech-

nology, it optimizes server computing, storage, and

network perormance, and simplies installation and

maintenance.

Based on customer requirements, the iPACS allows

the iPACS hardware to be installed beorehand,

which can be used upon startup, deployed quickly,

and operated easily. The PACS sotware is universal

and is compatible with the mainstream PACS sot-

ware without any change.

The iPACS provides a data sharing interace or medi-

cal institutions so that they can share their PACS

images and diagnosis reports on the regional health

care network, which reserves expansion space or

the building o the local medical system.

Intelligent Data Management

Intelligent hierarchical storage: The online stor-

age is realized through the high-speed and high-

bandwidth SAS/FC disks, and the secondary near-

line storage through the large-capacity SATA hard

disk. Both the near-line and oine storage can be set

to hibernating state and then be activated automati-

cally according to the specied policies.

The PACS sotware allows complete data manage-

ment, including data migration and intelligent

archiving, and supports deployment by sub-center

servers, which helps in the extensive use o local

medical acilities.

The archived inormation and the archiving logs can

be recorded and queried, thus enabling the adminis-

trator to monitor the archiving process.

Cost Efectiveness

Mass storage: The system supports insertion o di-

erent types o disks and online expansion o the

storage capacity. The iPACS-S system has 24 slots or

SATA/SAS disks and its storage capacity can reach up

to 24 TB; the iPACS-M system has a storage capacity

o up to 72 TB; the iPACS-H system has a storage ca-

pacity o up to 240 TB.

Intelligent hibernation: The intelligent hibernation

technology that possesses proprietary intellectual

property rights is adopted to extend the service lie

o hard disks. Policies can be ormulated to deny ac-

cess to the hard disks where oine data is stored so

that the hard disks can be in the hibernating state.

Energy conservation: Based on the high-integration

technology, it can have its overall power consump-

tion reduced by 50% by using the low power-

consumption CPU, an automatic down-speeding,

efcient power modules, sot start o disks, and intel-

ligent hibernation technology or hard disks.
