Quran 18:86

until when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a black muddy spring, and he found thereat a people.’ We said, ‘O Dhu ‘l Qarnain! thou mayest either torment these people, or treat them well.’

Coran 18:86

Et quand il eut atteint le Couchant, il trouva que le soleil se couchait dans une source boueuse, et, après d'elle il trouva une peuplade [impie]. Nous dîmes: "O Zul-Qarnayn! ou tu les châties, ou tu uses de bienveillance à leur égard".

The Prophet asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted...

Traduction

Un soir au coucher du soleil le Prophète me demanda "Sais-tu où le soleil va (lorsqu'il se couche)?" Je répondis, "Allah et Son messager le savent mieux." Il dit, "Il se prosterne sous le Trône, demande la permission de se lever à nouveau, et la permission lui est donnée.

منها يقبل فال تسجد أن ويوشك لها لها فيؤذن يقال لها يؤذن فال وتستأذن مغربها من فتطلع حيثجئت ارجعيمن

He said, "It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west.

Traduction

Puis (un jour viendra où) il se prosternera mais sa prosternation ne sera pas acceptée. Il demandera la permission de continuer son chemin, mais cela ne lui sera pas accordé. On lui ordonnera de retourner d'où il vient. Alors il se lèvera à l'ouest.
