Japan-Vietnam Research Workshop on “Sustainable Society Development in Asian Countries Tackling Climate Changes” – Global Education and Research Challenges through the Okayama‒Hue International Program– 日越研究ワークショップ「気候変動に対応したアジア型持続可能社会の構築」 岡山大学フエ特別コースを通じたグローバル教育・研究の挑戦 Aims of the workshop Inundation in rainy seasons has caused severe damages to the coastal areas of Central Vietnam. Those will become more serious due to climate changes, including rainfall pattern and sea level rise. Local people know signs of heavy rainfall and flooding based on experience and share their knowledge of crop management to minimize the risk of damage by flooding. In this workshop, we will analyze the indigenous knowledge from a scientific viewpoint and discuss development of sustainable societies in Asian countries. Additionally, we will introduce the Okayama‒Hue international Master’s program, the corporate sponsor companies, and student activities at Okayama University. We believe that the workshop enhances the Japan- Vietnam partnership and promotes the development of global human resources, leading to the sound development of Asian societies and economy in the future.
