Summit Publications, Inc. - Recipient of Two Gold Book Awards

Summit Publications, Inc. is the recipient of two marketing division awards from the 2012 Gold Book Awards, which are presented each year at the annual Association of Directory Publishers convention and trade show. This year’s event was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Frisco, Texas, on March 22, 2012. Entries were judged by a jury of peers and knowledgeable industry experts.

Summit Publications received First Place in the Excellence in Sales Support Collateral category and

Second Place in the Excellence in Radio Advertising category. The two awards follow an update to all 17 directory covers and multiple metro-wide marketing initiatives. “It’s so rewarding to have your work recognized by your peers. I hope we can continue to improve our product and earn

additional awards next year as well,” Creative Director Kristen Miller said.

Dr. David McGehee, Lee’s Summit R-7 School District superintendent, was recently re-elected to serve a second three-year term on the Governing Board of the American Association of School Administrators, the professional organization for school superintendents and other school system leaders nationwide.

As a member of the AASA Governing Board, Dr. McGehee helps set the policy agenda for the association. He

will also serve as the AASA liaison on the Missouri Association of School Administrators Executive Committee.

AASA’s Governing Board is comprised almost entirely of active school superintendents drawn from seven U.S. geographic regions. The Board meets twice

each year and works closely with AASA’s Executive Committee, which approves the association’s strategic plan and budget and conducts the ongoing business of the organization.
