More Awards. More Challenges.It’s been another award-winning quarter: Hactl secured the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence and Indoor Air Quality Certification, we received very positive recognition at the DHL Star Performance Award, and a very pleasing win as the Air Cargo Handling Agent of the Year at the Air Cargo Week World Air Cargo Awards in Munich. Sincere thanks to all who voted for Hactl, and to our hard-working staff whose unrelenting dedication earns us constant praise.

Tonnage in the first quarter of 2015 has been below 2014, largely due to the temporary slowdown of China’s economy. We continue to support our airline customers with enhanced service provision – such as GDP-accredited pharma handling – to help them maximise their share of the available market. I hope tonnage will improve later in the year.

It was a huge pleasure to recognise 189 staff at this year’s Long Service Award Dinner. The depth of experience and professionalism of our workforce gives Hactl an unrivalled pool of expertise to handle our customers’ cargo. For example, the experience and dedication of our staff enables us to operate efficiently in the adverse weather conditions we have recently been experiencing in Hong Kong.

Several judicial reviews are currently underway, challenging the decision of the Government to approve the Environmental Impact Assessment Report supporting the 3rd Runway. It is predictable for such a judicial review to be raised, however, the Airport Authority is working through the legal process to achieve what is important and right for Hong Kong.

Paul has spent over 30 years in freight and third-party

logistics, holding senior posts with some of the largest multinationals. In 2001, he felt it was time to satisfy the inner drive to run his own business, and that led to the launch of Janel Group.

Paul’s ambition was clear: “After many years of serving as senior management for various logistics companies, I thought it was time for me to move forward, and develop a company that would not just survive in the constantly changing environment, but be the market leader.”

Award-winning Janel: Now in China and the USAIt looks like Paul is well on his way to his goal: Janel is now a highly-successful premier league business with 250 staff, mainland offices in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Xiamen, and new representative offices being set up in Qingdao, Tianjin, Nanning and Ningbo. Janel also has major joint venture offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta. Janel has been honoured with numerous awards, including the Logistics Awards Hong Kong (organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Productivity Council) in 2007 and 2009, and Regional Freight Forwarder of the Year in the Payload Asia (Customer Choice) Awards 2014.

遍布中、美各大省市,分別在深圳、上海、

廈門設有辦事處,並計劃在青島、天津、南寧

及寧波等地設立新據點,亦在紐約、洛杉磯、

更屢獲殊榮,除了在2007及2009年獲得香

港貿易發展局及香港生產力促進局合辦

的「香港物流大獎」,亦於2014年Payload Asia (Customer Choice) Awards 中獲頒

Janel’s business includes wine logistics. This valuable merchandise is protected in temperature- and humidity-controlled warehousing, with motion detectors and round-the-clock security monitoring.

Paul Tsui is one of the best known faces in the Hong Kong forwarding sector. For the past five years, he has headed the Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Ltd. (HAFFA) as its Chairman, and has just announced his retirement from the post to be replaced by Cliff Sullivan of A-Sonic Logistics.

Janel’s business is 30% airfreight, 50% oceanfreight, 15% third party logistics (including wine logistics, cold chain logistics, hub distribution, and regional distribution), and 5% supply chain & logistics consultancy – as well as providing aviation security validation & consultancy. Unusually for a chief executive, Paul himself is a qualified IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) Instructor and a European Union Aviation Security Validator (ACC3) – a clear sign of his hands-on management style.

Five Years of Achievements at HAFFA HAFFA is a strong and influential organisation, with 350 members controlling around 90% of the Hong Kong airfreight market. Paul’s five-year HAFFA Chairmanship has been distinguished by a number of significant achievements: for example, increasing HAFFA’s competence in education and training for the industry through the launch of the HAFFA Training School. HAFFA has also increased its influence in public policy both locally in Hong Kong, as well as at an international level through membership of International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) and Federation of Asia Pacific Aircargo Associations (FAPAA). And it has submitted numerous white papers to the Hong Kong and Beijing Governments, on the subject of the development of the Logistics Industry for the benefit of China and Hong Kong.

Not surprisingly, Paul’s HAFFA duties have involved a good deal of travel: with trips up to three times per month to Asia Pacific, China, the USA, Europe and the Middle East.

徐博士在香港物流業經驗豐富,見證業內各

項轉變,其中最明顯的莫過於一些本來家喻

戶曉的本土公司,因為合併及收購而逐漸消

失。另一方面,徐博士亦喜見行業不斷進步,

例如在教育及培訓方面投入了更多資源,並

加強發展資訊科技。翰汶非常著重公司在資

訊科技方面的發展,徐博士說:「資訊科技

發展對公司來說可謂不可或缺,因為資訊科

技可以提升客戶服務水平,又可更有效及快

捷地管理資料數據。此外,資訊科技亦可以

簡化供應鏈運作流程,使整個供應鏈對顧客

和合作伙伴而言更具透明度。」在電子貨運

方面,他補充:「只著重改善每間公司內部資

訊科技並不足夠,更不足以提高香港整體競

爭力。只有業界共同攜手合作,才能推動整

個物流業向前發展。」

五年任期  貢獻良多有目共睹HAFFA現有超過350名會員,代表香港九

成空運同業,於業界舉足輕重。徐博士在擔

任HAFFA主席的五年間為業界建樹良好,

除了開辦HAFFA培訓學校,提升業界的教

育和培訓水平外,更促成HAFFA加入國際

貨運代理協會聯合會 (FIATA) 和亞太航空

貨運協會 (FAPAA),亦向香港及中國政府

呈交多份白皮書,就有關發展香港和內地物

流業提出互利兩地的建議,加強HAFFA在

本地和國際物流業界的影響力。

徐博士必須經常代表協會外訪,平均每月

出國三次,足跡遍及亞太區、中國、美國、

歐洲及中東等地。

對徐博士而言,香港貨運代理的主要挑戰

是甚麼?他認為:「香港貨運業人手短缺問

題嚴重,在前線員工及高級管理層方面尤

甚。另外,持續缺乏土地興建物流設施,亦

妨礙業界發展。雖然航空保安要求必須不

斷提升,但這亦增加了業界獲取認證的成

本和時間。」

What does Paul believe are the main challenges facing forwarders in Hong Kong nowadays? “Labour shortages, in particular in frontline staff and senior management candidates. In addition, we continue to suffer a shortage of land for logistics facilities. And ever-increasing levels of aviation security regulation – although entirely necessary – make compliance more and more time-consuming and costly.”

Changes Past and FutureAs for challenges facing Hong Kong as the world’s top cargo hub, Paul highlights its need to participate in, and benefit from, the “One Belt, One Road” initiative of the Beijing Government. “Improving our trade and logistics e-platform to integrate with the Government “Single Window” will be very challenging.”

Paul has also seen a lot of changes in the industry during the time he has worked in it: most particularly, the constant disappearance of household names as a result of mergers and acquisitions. On the positive side, there has been increasing focus on education and training, and much greater interest in IT. Janel has immersed itself in IT capabilities; explains Paul: “It is very important to have competence in information technology; it increases the level of customer service, improves the flow and management of data, streamlines the whole supply chain and gives visibility to customers and service partners.” In a clear reference to e-freight, he adds: “However, purely looking within the company and seeking improvement internally will not achieve much, and will not increase the overall competitiveness of Hong Kong. We need to have all parties working together and contributing their own part to the system.”

It was the first time any Hong Kong Chief Executive had attended the event in HAFFA’s 48-year history, underscoring the growing importance of the industry and HAFFA to Hong Kong.

Plenty to Keep Paul Busy!In addition to stepping down as HAFFA’s Chairman, Paul is also the immediate Past Chairman of the FAPAA and HAFFA. With so much free time now on his hands, what's next for this tireless ambassador for the Hong Kong airfreight community? As regards Janel, he plans further bases in Myanmar and Vietnam, to capitalise on what are probably the most exciting new markets in ASEAN.

But, if that’s not enough to keep him busy, he is now Chairman of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Logistics & Transportation Division; a Council

Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong, and The Institute of Purchasing & Supply of Hong Kong; a Voting Member of the IATA/FIATA Consultative Council (IFCC); a Member of the Cargo Agency Modernization Program (CAMP); and a Permanent Member of the Air Freight Institute of FIATA.

Hactl thanks Paul for his professional and supportive collaboration as HAFFA Chairman, wishes him very well in his continuing exploits, and looks forward to working with his successor, Cliff Sullivan.

Hactl Voted Air Cargo Handling Agent of the YearA delighted team from Hactl was on hand to collect the Air Cargo Handling Agent of the Year award at the 2015 Air Cargo Week World Air Cargo Awards in Munich.

The award – based on the online voting of Air Cargo Week readers around the world – was presented to Hactl Chief Executive Mark Whitehead by David Kerr, Vice President of Etihad Cargo.

Paul Tsui’s Chairmanship of HAFFA began in 2010, when he was elected at that year’s Annual General Meeting.

DHL Aviation Honours HactlHactl has received the Star Performance Award 2014 from DHL Aviation’s Air Capacity Sales, in recognition of its outstanding handling service in Hong Kong.

Air Capacity Sales (ACS) presents awards annually to its top suppliers and staff, with categories covering handling agents, GSAs, Outstanding Performance and Individual Performance. The award to Hactl was presented to Chief Executive, Mark Whitehead, by Ingrid Raj, Vice President, Air Capacity Sales, Asia Pacific and Francis Dodion, Vice President, Air Capacity Sales – Intercontinental Network of DHL Express at the ACS Annual Awards Dinner in Hanoi.

In 2014, Hactl took over handling of the eight cargo airlines which provide DHL Express capacity. Hactl provides a variety of handling services including physical cargo handling, ramp handling and air cargo documentation services, for their collective total of 35 rotations per week.

Hactl Recognised in Hong Kong Awards for Environmental ExcellenceHactl has received the Transport and Logistics – Silver Award in the latest Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE). It is the first time the company has entered the prestigious awards scheme.

The HKAEE recognise businesses that have adopted green management policies, and benchmarked their commitments towards best practices within their sectors. They are organised and presented by the Environmental Campaign Committee, following an

Regular Drills Test Hactl’s Recovery PlanPractice is everything, and regular drills ensure the elements of the plan function correctly in a simulated real-life emergency. The most recent drill practice was the ITDR (IT Disaster Recovery) earlier in 2015, which the company passed with flying colours. There are also regular power outage drills in which Hactl switches from main electrical power to standby generators, and desktop EBCP drills that test the company’s ability to handle severe incidents such as DGR leakages and breakdowns of critical equipment.

The measure of providing imports staff with mobile

devices together with the COSAC-Mobile functions is saving work for Hactl and time for its customers.

Previously, releasing loose import shipments to customers meant staff walking backwards and forwards between the cargo – often contained in several Hactl “boxes” – and the nearest computer workstation – often located some distance from the cargo, in the restricted area – so that they could update the cargo management system – COSAC-Plus.

Hactl’s airline customers regularly issue instructions about a variety of subjects, including embargoes, temporary weight restrictions, and revised handling procedures for particular commodities. Hactl staff are currently advised of these instructions via a daily update; but, with over 100 live instructions in force at any one time, remembering all these instructions is not only difficult – it can lead to inadvertent oversights with potentially operational repercussions.

From July, COSAC-Plus will include a new, intelligent update and flagging mechanism called e-Guidance. The e-Guidance database will be updated with every new instruction, and these will automatically appear as pop-ups whenever an operator conducts a transaction containing relevant keywords.

Contextual Advices + Regular Updates = Constant ComplianceAll instructions will be categorised as “guidelines” (which can be closed after reading), “warnings” (which must be read and acknowledged before closing) or “errors” (which will not allow the operator to proceed further – as in the event of an embargo on a particular commodity or destination).

斷提示員工。員工亦可隨時翻查指示,系統亦

會在指示生效限期屆滿後自動移除該指示。

e-Guidance可確保員工知悉並遵從所有最

新指示處理貨件,使貨站為航空公司客戶提

供更優質的處貨服務。

Now, armed with a mobile device, staff simply scan the barcode on the customer’s Shipment Release Form, which brings up the relevant data stored in COSAC-Plus. This leads them to all the related box locations, and enables them to update COSAC-Plus.

Better, Faster Service for CustomersThey can also deal with customers in the non-restricted area, and advise them more quickly about the volumes of shipments being collected, to ensure their vehicle is large enough.

All current instructions will re-appear daily, even when previously closed by the operator, to ensure staff are regularly reminded about them. Staff can also access the instructions on demand. Instructions with a pre-set end-date are automatically expired and purged from the system.

e-Guidance will ensure all relevant messages are received by frontline users, and specific airlines requests are complied with, so strengthening the overall service provision to Hactl’s customer airlines.

Unless you are fortunate enough to have an office with an airside view of Hong Kong’s cargo area, you have probably never witnessed the vital work performed by Hactl’s freighter ramp handling team – non-stop, around the clock, in all weather conditions.

These 350 handling heroes work hard

on every flight, and collaborate closely with one another to ensure all aspects of the operation run smoothly and safely – including everything from conducting the physical unloading and loading of aircraft, and performing weight and balance calculations, to coordinating the entire ground activity and arranging transport for flight crews.

Working on the ramp can be tough. Apart from the highly-pressured work caused by peak traffic times, and short aircraft turn-rounds often caused by late inbounds, the weather conditions can vary from sweltering heat (up to 35 degrees Celsius) and high humidity (up to 86%), to high winds and lashing rain during typhoons. Only when the airport is subject to a red lightning warning does ramp activity stop – otherwise it’s business as usual.

13 Freighters Side by SideA measure of Hactl’s massive ramp handling operation is its equipment inventory: thirteen full sets of ground support equipment (that is, main deck loader, lower deck loader, conveyor belt and passenger steps), plus over 100 tractors and 1,100 dollies – including two brand new thermal dollies for pharma products. So Hactl can – and often does – simultaneously handle thirteen full freighter aircraft side by side.

Although Hactl has been providing ramp handling services since it opened at the new Chek Lap Kok airport in 1998, it’s the last 5 years that have seen the explosive growth in the business – from 9,910 flights in 2010 to 24,397 flights in 2014. That makes Hactl Hong Kong’s largest ramp handler of freighters by far.

Potential for Further GrowthToday, 40% of Hactl customers use the company as a one-stop-shop, providing both cargo terminal handling and ramp handling. But there is still potential for further growth, says Executive Director Simon Fu: “Our plan is to increase our freighter ramp handling customer base to include an even higher proportion of Hactl's customers. This will support their business growth, and further strengthen their ties with Hactl.”

Simon says there is a real advantage to the one-stop-shop concept that Hactl alone can offer: “It provides a single contact point that integrates all operational processes from terminal services to documentation and ramp handling.”

ramp handling, and has handled the largest range of freighter aircraft types – from Boeing 737Fs to the world’s largest production commercial freighter, the giant Antonov AN-124.

Simon continues: “Other operators handle both passenger flights and freighters; so, when passenger flights are off-schedule, their first priority is always to switch resources to the passenger flights - to the detriment of the freighters. As Hactl performs freighter ramp handling only, we can focus all our resources and make no compromise on freighters.”

“Working on the ramp is always hard work, and always a race against time. But it’s particularly challenging when the weather is bad. Our work continues even when a typhoon signal is hoisted. The rain lashes down so hard that it’s difficult to see what you’re doing. The tractor drivers have to be particularly careful to avoid collisions, and airside handling staff have to pay attention to their own safety. At the

“Weight and balance are critical for aircraft safety, so I have to keep a careful watch on my team to ensure we position units correctly on the aircraft. We also need to be particularly vigilant when handling dangerous goods; there are new rules and regulations all the time, and airlines often have their own additional procedures which we must comply with.

“We’re always racing against the clock, especially when aircraft arrive late – but we never allow urgency to compromise safety.

“We handle a lot of horses, which need special care to stop them becoming stressed or frightened. We know all the little tricks: for example, when they’re unloaded, we transport them to our Livestock Handling Centre facing backwards; this helps to stop them panicking.

“The most challenging job? Loading and unloading the bulk cargo in the aft hold. You’re bent double, shifting heavy items,

and you only have a limited time. What makes the task even harder is when it’s over 35 °C in summer – and then it’s at least 3-4 °C higher in the aircraft, and there’s no air conditioning! Sometimes I handle up to 7 flights a day, and it gets really sweaty in the hold!”

The liberalisation of Chinese Government regulations

governing e-commerce, and China’s growing prosperity, are spawning a new generation of smaller e-tailers. And Hactl subsidiary Hacis is poised to grab a share of this exciting young market.

China’s 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) aims to make China a global force in e-commerce, and Hong Kong expects to benefit from a boom in cross border e-commerce logistics for e-tailers selling to, or buying from China. Shippers of commodities from milk powder to computer components are already taking advantage of the modern and efficient Customs regime in Hong Kong to achieve simple and efficient transits into China.

To improve response times, many e-tailers are now holding buffer stocks of fast-moving lines, creating additional bulk shipments into and out of China via Hong Kong.

Hacis has already seen a dramatic growth in enquiries from forwarders on behalf of e-commerce customers. For one such company, Hacis is now providing sorting, bar-code scanning and X-ray screening prior to shipping goods by international mail, to save on higher courier costs. Not surprisingly, the business has grown 255% in a year.

Inbound e-commerce customers are also interested in Hacis’ cross border road feeder services to move merchandise into mainland China. Hacis’ largest e-commerce shipment to date was 120 tonnes; now it’s working on creating multimodal transhipment services combining road and barge operations. Barges offer the advantage of direct access to Pearl River ports like Nansha – where Hacis aims to open an operation in collaboration with its existing Chinese partner.

定。在加強跨境電子商貿管制的建議中,

Loyal Staff Honoured表揚長期服務員工

The 2015 annual Hactl Long Service Award Dinner

honoured no less than 189 staff with service of 20 years or more.

Twenty of the award recipients received 35-year service awards; a further thirteen received 30-year service awards; forty five received 25-year service awards; and a staggering one hundred and eleven Hactl employees were recognised for twenty years’ service with the company.

Awards Highlight Length of Service and Career OpportunitiesEquipment Operator Ma Chow Tak claimed the distinction of the longest service of any of the awardees this year; he joined Hactl in 1979, when the company was just three years old, and still based at the old Kai Tak Airport.

Executive Director Simon Fu was the highest-ranking member of staff to receive an award this year; 2015 marks his 20th anniversary with Hactl. His career began in 1995 as a Supervisor Trainee, since which time he has progressed through the positions of Operations Supervisor, Security Superintendent, Line Manager and General Manager to his current post in charge of Service Delivery.

1979年加入香港空運貨站,當時貨站只開

業三年,還座落於舊啟德機場。

另外,香港空運貨站執行董事傅忠乃今年

職級最高的得獎者,2015年標誌著傅先生

加入貨站的第20個年頭。傅先生於1995年

加入貨站為管理見習生。多年來出任不同的

管理崗位,包括貨運管理員,保安總監,貨

運經理、航空服務總經理乃至現在掌管整

個貨運服務。

Simon Fu, Executive Director, was the most senior employee to receive a long service award this year. Says Simon: “Throughout my 20 years’ service with Hactl, I never actively sought promotion – but I was lucky enough to have many good bosses who recognised my abilities and placed me in positions where I could develop and contribute. I believe this has been a fundamental principle of Hactl’s people development since its foundation.” Asked about his strongest memory of his Hactl career, he recalls the chaos that followed the opening of Hactl SuperTerminal 1 at the new airport in 1998: “The Airport Opening Day chaos taught us to be more resilient and better prepared for problems. It was a valuable lesson we will never forget.”

Ma Chow Tak joined Hactl at 19. 35 years later, he’s still at Hactl, and now father to a 23-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son. Chow Tak has never once thought of leaving the company, he says, mainly because of its caring culture: “Working on the ramp requires lot of stamina. Through 35 degrees Celsius heat, or number 8 typhoon, we stick to our duty.”

“But having supportive supervisors and colleagues makes a big difference. Hactl provides hot drinks in winter and cold water in summer; and, like the bamboo mat I’m sitting on now, it really makes us feel more comfortable, especially on very hot, sunny days. I feel the company really cares about frontline employees like me.”

子的父親,亦仍然是貨站的一員。馬秋德表

示他從未想過要離開貨站,主要是因為公司

鑑於部分於香港空運貨站服務多年的員工

即將退休,預備開展新生活,貨站人力資源

部推出一個新課程,名為「計劃有意義的退

休生活」的退休前培訓及指導課程,目的是

為他們的退休生活作好準備。

積極預備退休此項計劃由人力資源部培訓及發展經理李

明遠策劃,以課堂形式透過不同專題為員工

作出輔導。專題內容包括:退休所帶來的挑

戰(退休的意義、心理及人際關係的轉變)

及如何積極開展退休生活和了解現有的社

區資源。而課程內容亦會包括個人經驗分

享、個案研究、短片播放及討論環節。

Hactl has always prided itself on its staff welfare

initiatives, as part of its comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility programme. Throughout the company’s 39-year history, that has seen staff being actively assisted to achieve their full potential through regular training, internal promotion and even grants for higher education.

Now, as some of the longest-serving staff reach the ends of their careers and prepare for retirement, Hactl’s Human Resources team have come up with a new way to help and support them: a programme of pre-retirement training and guidance called “Planning Your Meaningful Retirement”.

Learning How to RetireThe new programme is managed by John Lee, Manager - Training and Development, Human Resources Department. It provides classroom-based training on topics such as the challenges of retirement (the meaning of retirement, and psychological and social changes) and coping with retirement positively, including understanding and accessing the available community resources. The course includes sharing of individual experiences and cases studies, as well as video presentations and discussions.

Hactl staff at all levels enter the programme during their last year of employment, before retiring at age 60. So far, 43 staff have participated in the programme, and around 50 new entrants will join the scheme every year in the future.

Repaying the Hard Work and Dedication of Retiring StaffSays John Lee: “This is the latest step in our drive to maintain Hactl’s position as the Employer of Choice, providing full care to its staff. Our aim is to enable staff to gain a fuller understanding of the meaning of retirement, and help them prepare for a positive retirement life. The feedback has been very positive, and we are now planning the addition of a health seminar.”

He continues: “Many of our staff have spent most of their working careers with Hactl, and have worked with us since the company began. We are now happy to repay their hard work and loyalty by helping them enjoy a full and well-earned retirement. Meanwhile we continue to recruit and develop new generations of staff for all areas of the business.”

「齊步上怡廈」活動的Thistle Man的造型,

在台上載歌載舞作壓鈾表演。為慶祝

「齊步上怡廈」30周年,貨站特意準備了

1985年8月25日於南華早報上有關「齊步上

怡廈」的報導副本,而於貨站服務超過30年

的員工亦到台上參與表演。

貨站男健兒摘冠除了趣怪服裝隊伍勇奪殊榮外,貨站五人男

子接力隊伍,亦獲得男子接力賽亞軍。貨站

亦派出了兩名男、女健兒參加個人賽事,男

健兒並獲頒鮑磊杯冠軍。

成功籌得4百萬善款第一屆「齊步上怡廈」活動於1985年舉行,

共有200名健兒參加,為慈善機構籌得約

17萬港元。今年,500名健兒在活動中共創

佳績,並籌得超過港幣4百萬善款,數目乃

歷年之冠。

「齊步上怡廈」由「怡和親善大使」主辦,旨

在為「思健」籌款。「思健」為香港和內地有

關精神健康的項目及非政府組織提供經濟

支援,亦會與其他慈善機構合作,為與精神

健康有關的項目籌款。

This year’s ‘Walk Up Jardine House’ – the annual

event in which people race up the iconic building’s 49 flights of stairs to raise money for charity – saw Hactl run off with the “Best Dressed Award” again – for the 7th year in a row!

Hactl’s fancy dress team dressed as adorable Japanese cartoon character Pikachu, competing with Super Mario Brothers, Elsa, and other well-known stars of the stage, screen and gaming console.

Pikachus and Thistle Man Dance in FinaleHactl team’s performance in the stage show finale featured a song and dance routine by the three Pikachus and Thistle Man (featured in the very first event). To mark the event’s 30th anniversary, they produced a framed copy of the original event write-up that appeared in the South China Morning Post of 25th August 1985. Hactl staff with over 30 years of service were also invited on stage.

Hactl Achieves the Fastest Male TimeIn addition to its fancy dress team, Hactl also entered a “serious” 5-man relay team, which achieved second place; an individual male competitor, who came first to win the coveted Barrow Cup; and an individual female competitor.

Record Four Million Dollars RaisedIn 1985, the event raised HK$170,000 for charity, and 200 runners took part. This year’s event welcomed 500 participants, who raised over four million HK dollars for charity – the best ever result.

‘Walk Up Jardine House’ is organised for MINDSET by the Jardine Ambassadors. MINDSET provides financial support to mental health related projects and NGOs in Hong Kong and mainland China. It also works closely with other charitable organisations to raise funds for mental health related causes.

「綠色力量環島行」始於1994年,為一年一

及最受歡迎的慈善行山活動之一。今年逾

3,000名健兒參加比賽,共籌得超過港幣

6百萬善款。

教育下一代 尊重大自然過去22年,超過54,000名健兒及逾100間企業和團體參與這項別具意義的活動,

為建立綠色未來籌得近港幣7千2百萬的

善款。所有款項將用於環境教育,致力培

育下一代保護、欣賞和尊重大自然。

Green Power Hike 2015A four-strong Hactl team was 1st runner-up in the Aviation and Airport Services Cup at this year’s Green Power Hike, completing the 50km Hong Kong Trail course in 6 hours 30 minutes.

The Green Power Hike is an annual fund-raising walkathon; established in 1994, it has become one of the largest and most popular charitable hiking activities in Hong Kong. Over 3,000 enthusiastic participants entered this year’s event, which raised over HK$6 million.

Teaching Future Generations to Respect NatureIn the 22-year history of the event, more than 54,000 people and over 100 corporations and organisations have raised over HK$72 million to build a green future. All donations are used for environmental education of future generations, teaching them to protect, appreciate and respect the nature.

Hactl’s team was 1st runner-up in the Aviation and Airport Services Cup, at this year’s Green Power Hike.
