Motes, Motes, Motes!

Motes are one of the biggest money making items in the game. These guys

are amazing in the AH. What you basically want to do is get 10 motes of a

certain type to make a Primal. Primals indefinitely sell for more then 10

motes do.

The thing is if you see 10 motes of a specific kind sell for less then the

Primal does, buy out the 10 motes and resell the Primal for profit. For

example, you see 10 Mote of Fire in the AH for 23g. Now, Primal Fires are

going for 28g in the AH. What you do is buy to 10 motes as fast as possibleand sell for the 5g profit. I’ll be going into this with much more depth as we

dive into the topic.

The most expensive motes are Motes of Air, so I would farm those.

One thing before we go into the topic. All the motes can be purchased for

16s by Dealer Tariq in Auchindoun. If you are confused on where he is at,

he’s the vendor in the south section(Shadow Labyrinth)

One suggestion also is to glide in Elemental Plateau because that’s where the

most valuable motes are found with the highest drop rates. Farmers are

always here, so just glide your ass off. :P

Mote of Air – These are farmed off of Air elementals of course, but which

ones to farm? No Air elemental below level 62 will drop Mote of Air and the

best farming results would take place at 70, so where do you say to farm

these? The highest results are off the Air elementals in Elemental Plateau,

but farmers are there 24/7… the best place is the area around the Altar of

Shadows in Shadowmoon Valley. This place is hardly populated and they have

the 2nd highest drop rate!

Mote of Water – These guys are the 3rd most expensive and not as many

people farm them. I love farming them in Lake Nagrand. No one is ever

underwater there. It’s north of Garadar if you’re confused. They are also



farmed at Elemental Plateau which is farmer infested. My favorite spot

however is the little lake thing below Haala, no one is ever there and they

have a nice drop rate. Wherever floats your boat, though.

Mote of Fire – These motes are the 2nd

most valuable. A lot of people farmthese ones, too. They can be farmed in Elemental Plateau as well, but since

everyone is always there I prefer northern Blade’s Edge near the entrance

to Netherstorm. There are tons of them there, and I’ve only seen 2 farmers

there all my times going there.

Mote of Earth – These have basically the same drop rate off of any Earth

Elemental 65+ and there isn’t a specific area with tons of Earth Elementals

so it’s all random. You can also get these through mining and they sell for the

least. So I wouldn’t farm them.

Mote of Life – These are probably the easiest to farm and they aren’t too

bad on the AH, 3rd worst or 4th best. :P These can be farmed off Withered

Bog Lords or Bog Lords in Zangarmarsh which range in the 60-62 levels.

People hardly ever farm them unless they’re grinding, so if you’re level 62-

63ish, I really advise you grind here.

Mote of Shadow – I prefer farming these in Netherstorm off the Artifact

Seekers in Arklon Ruins. They have a pretty good drop rate and can also drop

Fel Armaments and Mark of Sargeras. Pretty decent, they basically drop off

ANY shadow like being.

Mote of Mana – These are a really easy one to farm too, I just farmed

everything in Kirin’Rar Village, the Mageslayers and the other ones. Another

alternative is the little crevice north of Area 52 the Mana Wraiths are

great.

In conclusion, after you farm 10 of each, you can transmute all the Primalsinto a Primal Wrath that sells for a lot.

What I used to do because my server’s economy was terrible was buy 1 of

each Primal then transmute into a Primal Wrath and resell. Because



altogether when I bought all 7 primals, the total equaled 92g and Primal

Wraths sold for 120g on my server. Whatever you want to do is cool, though.

If you’re a dedicated farmer, you can easily get a 130g/hour rate farming

Mote of Fire/Air/Water. Maybe even Mana.

Auction House Tricks

Playing the AHPlaying the AH is a very simple and amazing money-making concept. Before

TBC, I used this technique to make 6800 gold. All in 1 month. This kept me

supplied for TBC and my epic flyer. If you don’t know about it yet, there is anamazing addon called Auctioneer, this addon tells you the common price of anitem on the AH. Lets say Assassin’s Blade is on the AH for 145g andAuctioneer says it’s usually on for 230g. You buy it out as quick as possible andresell for a little over 200g. I did this with THREE Assassin’s Blades and just putthem back on the AH after I bought them for 130-145g each and made a 70-80gprofit off each. In all I made 240g just off of those in a mere day, along with all theother items I sold. I bought Shadowfang, Destiny, Hammer of the NorthernWind, Bloodrazor, Alcor’s Sunrazor, Kang The Decapitator, and ArdentCustodian that day. In all I made 1100g, my bad luck was that they were hardlyon for the rest of the month. So, if you see an item that’s listed at a much lower

price then Auctioneer says it should be listed at. Buy it out and resell it, that’s oneof the most basic concepts of making gold. At level 20, I used this for green itemstill I had 100g, then I bought some of the lower level blues, till I had 300g, then Istarted buying Shadowfang till I had 500-600g. You can use this right when youget 10g. It’s that easy. Remember to use this easy concept as much as possible.

Added details from the copy + paste: Playing the AH can also benefit from smallitems such as Linen Cloth or Wool Cloth. When I was a little level 8. I had 2g andbought out a stack of Wool Cloth for 1g because I saw the rest was on for 3g, soremember you can do this at any level get a decent amount of gold. Good luck!

Harsh but Helpful AH Trick

Look for a high demand low level/priced item. I usually pick Copper Bar

or Wool/Linen Cloth. Go with the median. Sell Wool Cloth for 75s-1g or

however much it’s going for put about 8 stacks up for that much and

then put 1-3 stacks up for 75g or 50g, high levels will usually buy tons

of Wool Cloth for their alts or mules and not even pay attention to the

price and buyout everything so you just might get lucky and end up withan extra 75-100g off of a little item like Wool Cloth.

Neutral AH Tips

Horde/Alliance only items aren’t available to opposing faction of course, so you could

sell Horde/Alliance only items to the opposing factions for lots, correct? Correct.When I was level 40, I had my own pet shop business in Tanaris. I bought thousandsof snakes and cockroaches from UC and Org to put in the Tanaris AH. They sell for50s each in UC and Org, I resold them for 5g each. Made a whooping 4g 50s profit.And I sold thousands a month, so I made a huge profit for my level. Use thistechnique to your advantage. Alliance will pay tons for a horde pet and vice versa. Iremember some Horde guy had some rare Alliance macaw pet thing and sold it for800g. Turns out it was an Alliance only BoE special event pet, so yeah. Right whenyou turn 40, do what I did. Be smart, and open up your own business.☺



Undercutting the AH

Undercutting the AH is a very simple tactic in which you have your item in the AHsell first. Too much undercutting could mean a bad thing however. Lets saySavory Deviate Delights are going on the AH for 10g per stack and you put it upfor 5g every single time you put it up. This could bring the whole economy ofSavory Deviate Delights DOWN. And that my friend is a bad thing. From 10g astack, it could go to as little as 5-6g a stack because you undercut it too much.Use undercutting to your advantage, but don’t do it so much as to where youbring the whole economy down.

Rare MobsRare mobs drop fairly better loot then other mobs. Most of thetime they drop greens, and rarely blues. It really matters onwhat mob you encounter. Here is a list of the best rare mobs you should hunt down.

Hellfire Peninsula Mekthorg the Wild - Hellfire Peninsula

Location : Near Hellfire Citadel or Zeth'Gor.

Zangarmarsh Coilfang Emissary - Zangarmarsh

Location : Around one of the four steam pumps. Can be a bit tricky because of the

frostbolt/arcane explosion it does, but still easily soloable.

Bog Lurker - Zangarmarsh Location : Umbrafen/Feralfen/Daggerfen Village.

Terokkar Forest Okrek - Terokkar Forest



Location : Veil Reskk/Shienor/Skith/Shalas

Doomsayer Jurim - Terokkar Forest Location : Roaming near Shattrath and Firewing Point. This one is a warlock, he uses

incinerate/shadowbolt/fear. Just make sure you're full life/mana before engaging him. Be

careful if he's near Shattrath, it seems he can be aggroed and killed by guards (bye byeloots !).

Crippler - Terokkar Forest

Location : Pretty much everywhere in Bone Wastes/Auchindoun. Harder to kill him as a

melee class because of the high armor buff he get when he reaches 50% life.

Nagrand Goretooth - Nagrand

Location : Most of the water places in Nagrand. He can be underwater so he's one of your best chance to get a rare monster if you're looking for them, but keep in mind that he's the

only crocilisk of the whole region so he's still easily spotted.

Bro'Gaz the Clanless - Nagrand

Location : Roaming in Nagrand, see map.

Netherstorm Ever-Core the Punisher - Netherstorm

Location : Circling around Manaforge B'naar/Ara/Ultris.

Chief Engineer Lorthander - Netherstorm

Location : Manaforge Ara / Ultris / Duro. Instead of Ever-Core, Lorthander can enter

Manaforges and could be a little more harder to find, he look likes a blood elf with a staff(which isn't really easy to spot in these zones)

Shadowmoon Valley Ambassador Jerrikar - Shadowmoon Valley

Location : Illidari Point/ Eclipse Point / Netherwing Ledge / Ruins of Baa'ri.

Elite Rare Monsters (killable with a group)

Hellfire Peninsula Fulgorge - Hellfire Peninsula



Big earth worm with basically the same abilities as his friends, he will go underground

and repop at a random location near you.

Zangarmarsh Marticar - Zangarmarsh

Marticar is a strider, he doesn't hit very hard but has a nasty ray that could damage you a bit. But as all the other rare elite, there's really nothing you can't handle.

Blade's Edge Mountains Hemathion - Blade's Edge Mountains

Big drake. You will only find him in the flying mount accessible zone, west of Blade's

Edge Mountains. He's immune to fire but won't cause you much problems as long asyou've got the classic Decent-Tank/Healer/DPS combo. He drops rare breastplates.

Morcrush - Blade's Edge Mountains

What a surprise, a stone giant that splits when you damage him. Like any other stone

giant he will use a war stomp and split into an add every 25%. Possibly the most easilykittable rare elite. Only problem is, like Kraator, he can spawns everywhere in east

Blade's Edge so it's hard to fast-scout him.

Netherstorm Nuramoc - Netherstorm Standard Chimaerok, he may (poison) spit on you if you're not nice with him.

He seems to be roaming randomly following three straight lines through Netherstorm

Shadowmoon Valley Kraator - Shadowmoon Valley

Some kind of red inferno guy, he can summon adds and may conflagrate during the fight.Sounds like an impressive fight, but as other fights, it's nothing a group of lvl 70 can't

handle easily.

Can spawns nearly everywhere in Shadowmoon, pain in the ass to look for him.

Collidus the Warp-Watcher - Shadowmoon Valley

Big eye. This one loves dealing elemental damage with a ray that may kill your tank ifyou don't have proper healing. Nevertheless, it should be easy as long as you've got a

tank, a healer, and a dps class. Be careful if you're not using a warrior to tank, he can fear

and he may rush healers / DPS classes while your tank is running around screaming like agirl.

Great MobsAngerclaw Maulers – These guys are a great source of money in the 48-53range. Also it’s a big plus if you’re a skinner, these guys have great vendor trashand are skinnable. They have decent green drop rates and respawn like crazy.Have fun with no down time and making 40 gold an hour!

Formula: Enchant Weapon - Crusader – This baby still sells for 100-130g and is now much, much easier to farm. I got mine in 15 minutes,hope you get the same luck as me. 54-56 farming/grinding. It’s great!

Formula: Enchant Weapon - Demonslaying – This area is hardly ever farmedif farmed at all and this formula sells for 20-30g and has a decent drop rate.Where you’re going is the southwestern part of Azshara and farming Highborne

Apparitions and Highborne Lichling. Have fun. >.<

Scalding Whelps – This is the place to be at if you’re level 39-41. Theseguys are great grinding, awesome farming and a major plus if you’re askinner. They also have a chance of dropping Dark Whelpling which sellfor 60g on my server.

Blood Elves - Near the Legash Encampment in Azshara, there are lots of BloodElves with an insane drop rate on Runecloth. Now on my server, Runecloth goesfor more then Netherweave now so this is a plus, also they have really nice droprate for blues and greens.

Anguished Highbornes and some Suffering Highbornes – These guys are just southwest of Everlook and have a really nice droprate for Runecloth andgreens + blues. They also have nice coin drop. Also every week or so, PrincessTempestria spawns and she drops some phat lewt that goes for 100gish. So hitthis spot up. Btw, Princess Tempestria can’t be soloed at level 60, level 70 yeah,but not 60.



Phat Cloth - Over in northeastern part of Felwood, you can find a lot of Hellcallers , Betrayers , and Tricksters . These guys don't drop a ton ofgreat items but you will get a LOT of Runecloth and Felcloth which sellsvery well at the Auction House.

Twilight Stonecallers and Twilight Avengers – In Silithus, there are 2encampments with tons of Twilight dudes there. This was the best place tofarm ever before TBC. They have amazing coin drop, awesome runecloth,TONS of greens, often blues, and Hand of Edward the Odd dropped herethree times for me. This is the place to be at level 58 if you just want tostraight out farm.

ProfessionsProfessions are the cornerstone of making money. Craftingprofessions often make good gold, but the best money making

professions are gather professions. You can start using craftingprofessions at as little as level 5. I advise you to start at level 10,however. Read on for some of the best money making tips for eachprofession.

The InstancesNow, time to introduce the concept of running lower level instances to make huge

gold. One way you can make money is offer your services to low levels to run them

through OR you could just stick with soloing and keeping all the loot for yourself.That’s what I do. The main drops you’re looking for in the low level instances are all

the cloth BoE blues, greens, and just plain ole’ vendor trash.

Starting with Deadmines… Deadmines is a great instance to run if you’re a Mage

because you can simply AoE everything to death. All the other classes you have to

stick with beating on them with your other spells or regular hits… etc. The main

drops in this instance are all the BoE greens, I get about 20 per run, all the Wool

Cloth, I usually get 35-40 stacks after an hour, and just I guess the decent coin drop

for that level. Nothing more. It’s the easiest instance to solo, and you get pretty nice

drops.

Next up is Wailing Caverns. This isn’t a great instance to solo, nonetheless it’s easy.

Perfect Deviate and Deviate Scales drop in here which sell for a nice amount and you

have all those greens and cloth drop. It’s pretty decent, but I prefer Deadmines over

it.

Shadowfang Keep is probably the best one to do. It’s not necessarily the easiest but it

is somewhat easy and does pay off. Cloth and greens drop in here like you won’t

believe and you have that chance for the world BoE blues now. But the drops you’relooking for the most are the BoE only drops in here. Shadowfang, Mindthrust Bracers,Shadowfang, Mindthrust Bracers,Shadowfang, Mindthrust Bracers,Shadowfang, Mindthrust Bracers,

and Assassin’s Blade.and Assassin’s Blade.and Assassin’s Blade.and Assassin’s Blade. Assassin’s Blade on minimum can sell for 145g. Shadowfang for

145-175g and Mindthrust Bracers, 45-75g. This is all at minimum, I guarantee at

maximum they can all sell for 50-100g more than what I listed. Have a good time in

here. >.<

Next is Scarlet Monastery, this instance is 30-40 and can be easily soloed by a 60-70.

Maybe a 50+ hunter. There are BoE blue drops in here like you won’t believe, along

with the amazing coin drop for that level, and silk drops in here like crazy. You can

easily make 2000g a month here. It’s just that easy and that is calculated with no Bluedrops which I guarantee you’ll have in a month of farming. The Butcher, Beguiler

Robes, and Glowing Magical Bracers are what blues you’re looking for in here that

sell for the most. Once again, have a great time in here. :D Additional notes: Running

through these instances to get to the last boss, killing him, getting his loot,

disenchanting it to get a Small Radiant Shard and repeating is a great money maker as

well, I wouldn’t hesitate to do it.☺



Last soloable instance is Uldaman. Uldaman isn’t soloed as much as it should be.

There are BoE epics that drop in here, along with tons of BoE Greens and blues. Plus

you have that amazing, coin drop, great disenchanting blues, awesome cloth and you

can run people through here for 30g a run. It’s absolutely crazy. Although I think

everything in here can be soloed, I’m not positive about the last boss. He is insanely

hard for a level 60 to solo, but I’m positive a 70 could solo him.

As of now, these are the best instances to solo for cash. I wouldn’t mind RFC, but it’s

not that great. Have a good time running these instances. >.<

Another great pet to purchase would be the snakes that the troll in Orgrimmarby the Mage trainer sells. A buddy of mine had a Horde mule give him all thesnakes to his Alliance character and he would call it his exotic Horde pet shop.

He would sell each snake for 8g. Be creative with pets you sell and how you sellthem, you can make a fortune off these little guys.

That concludes our section of Outland pets. ☺



Low Level Gold Strategies

Professions are a great way to make gold for low levels, but of

course. There are many other ways for a level 10-20 to make

gold.

First off, for Alliance you can use the fishing bot to fish off the

coast of Auberdine for Oily Blackmouths, I used the bot for a

day straight on a NE Druid I created on Detheroc and got 33

stacks of Oily Blackmouths which I then sold for 600g.

For Horde, we use the same method, the fishing bot, but we use

it in Wailing Caverns or the oasis outside. What we’re looking for

are Deviate Fish which sell for more then Oily Blackmouths. I

found more Deviate Fish in a days time then I did Oily

Blackmouths, too!

Another Horde or Alliance gold strategy is farming Light

Feathers off of Plainstriders in The Barrens. Yes, it may be

somewhat difficult to farm them with Alliance with all the Hordearound, but it does pay off. They drop very often, and sell for 3g

a stack. The recipe for Savory Deviate Delight also has a high

drop rate from these guys which can be sold for 12-20g

depending on your server’s economy.



Another awesome spot for Alliance or Horde is the Defias

Windmill in Westfall. Once again, this may not be the smartest

place for a Horde character to hang out at, but boy do you

make a profit here. The co ords are 31,34 and I suggest you

follow them because there is no real way to describe where it’slocated. These guys have the fastest respawn rate out of any

mob in the game, so it’s a big plus. Linen Cloth drops almost

every drop here and the coin is good for your level too, along

with some of the greens and the nets they drop, this is a must

farm location for level 12-20.

Reputation ItemsReputation items can be sold for a lot. Scryers and Aldors will buyanything that they need to boost their rep up. Others will buy allsorts of items to buy what they need… is a great big list of items thateach clan needs. Mark of Kil’Jaeden, Mark of Sargeras, Fel

Armaments, Firewing Signets, Sunfury Signets, Arcane Tomes,Glowcaps, Fertile Spores, Umbafren Eels, Unidentified Plant Parts,Coilfang Armaments, Osh’gun Crystal Fragments, Pair of Ivory Tusks,and Arrakoa Feathers.

Mark of Kil’Jaeden – These have the highest drop rate off of Mo'arg

Doomsmith in Netherstorm but I see that place highly occupied most ofthe time so I prefer the Cabal group outside of Auchindoun. GreatNetherweave Cloth drop + Mark of Kil’Jaeden? You can’t go wrong.

Mark of Sargeras – Once again, I really prefer farming these off theCabal group outside of Auchindoun, they practically have the highestdrop rate for them and it’s hardly if ever occupied. Turn in both, Markof Sargeras and Mark of Kil’Jaeden to the Aldors to gain rep or just aseasily sell them to Aldor players.



Fel Armaments – These randomly drop off of most mobs that dropMark of Sargeras and Mark of Kil’Jaeden. I prefer farming these off Artifact Seekers and any Cabal mob as they have the highest droprate and these sell for 15-30g each, depending on your server’s

economy. Once again, sell these to the Aldors, as they boost rep forthem.

Firewing Signets – These signets drop off Firewing Warlocks , Bloodwarders , and Defenders out in Firewing Point. It’slocated in Northern Terrokar.

Sunfury Signets – These are similar to Firewing Signets and areScryer trade-in items. They sell for more then the Marks and they are

somewhat easier to find and I prefer farming them over the marksbecause of the greens that the mobs that drop these, drop. Themobs I prefer to farm are Blood Knights , Bloodwarders , and Researchers.

Arcane Tomes – Basically the equivalent to Fel Armaments but forScryers. These typically drop off the Blood Knights, Bloodwarders andResearchers that I listed among other blood elves in Netherstorm. Although, signets sell for more then marks, I believe Fel Armaments

sell for more than Arcane Tomes.

Glow Caps – These items are used to purchase items from the

Sporegarr. The main area to farm these is 35,33 in Zangarmarsh. Theyare also rewarded from a quest in Zangarmarsh. ALSO, 10 can beturned in for 750 Sporegarr rep.

Fertile Spores – These are basically used to gain rep with Sporegarr.10 can be turned in for 750 Sporegarr rep and 1 Glowcap. The best

place I like to farm them is 18,17 in Zangarmarsh. The mobs that dropthem have an amazing respawn time and drop them pretty often.Both Fertile Spores and Glowcaps can be sold on the AH for quite alot. (Fertile Spores and Glowcaps are used for Sporegarr rep)



Umbafren Eels – These obviously drop off the eels in the UmbafrenLake. They have a 40% drop rate and sell for about 7g on the AH,better then nothing, right?

Unidentified Plants – You can find these all over the place inZangarmarsh. They’re basically anywhere and everywhere. They arevery easy to collect, drop off almost all Zangarmarsh mobs and canbe sold for a ton.

Coilfang Armaments – My personal favorite. These sell for about7-12g EACH and drop like crazy in Steamvaults. I would personallyguild run it and just collect as much as possible. Me and my guild useto run this instance all day doing nothing but collecting these items

and got about 50 a day each. That’s a huge profit. They only drop inSteamvaults, just to let you know. All these items(Unidentified Plants,Umbafren Eels and Coilfang Armaments) are used for CenarionExpedition reputation.

OshuGun Crystal Fragments - Vir'aani Raider have the highest drop rate for

these items and they drop like crazy off of them. I highly suggest farming them off of

here. This is used for Consortium reputation so sell it to people who are trying to boost

their rep with Consortium.

Pair of Ivory Tusks – These are also used to boost your rep with theConsortium and drop off of any basic level 65+ Elekk. So, if you’re inyour friendly Nagrand neighborhood, I suggest you farm these,because last I checked they sell for 2g EACH.

Arrakoa Feathers – These feathers are used to boost your reputationwith Lower City. The two best spots to find these feathers are VeilSkith and Veil Reskk in Terrokar Forest. They sell for 15g/20 which is

about a 90-100g hourly rate. ☺

Daily QuestsDaily quests were added in Patch 2.1.0 I believe. Level 70’s hadareas where they could quest for money. There was a maximum of10 quests in different areas that you could do every day. Each quest

gave 12g, so you basically made an extra 120g a day. In this section,I’m going to break down each daily quest. However, there is arequirement before you can unlock how to do daily quests and youneed a flying mount to get to the areas that supply daily quests.



Skyguard Daily Quests

Fires Over Skettis Requires: Skyguard neutral, Threat From Above complete

Where: Sky sergeant Doryn at Blackwind landingWhat to do: Take the charges on your flying mount and bomb eggs on Skettis rooftops.

Reward: 11.99 gold, 350 Skyguard rep

AoE Farming/Grinding!

AoE Farming is basically my specialty and I’d like to share with you my 3favorite AoE farming/grinding spots all for different levels.

1. In Tanaris, there are a bunch of Wastewater Bandits a little north of

CoT in a hidden cove like area. What you basically want to do is a grab

another friend… I prefer healer or another mage and then run around

on your mount aggroing 20-30, maybe more. Then you get onto the

ship-like object and Ice Block. What your friend now does is run into

the center of all of it with Ice Barrier and Mana Shield up and Frost

Nova, both of you then Blizzard, Frost Nova when they get close, CoC,and then finish them off with Arcane Explosion. Awesome experience

for the 46-49 level range and awesome cash. 600g in all 3 levels.

2. In the Western Plaguelands, there are 2 fields close to each, both

filled with tons of Undead. What you want to do is the same thing as

above. Grab a friend… Mage or healer, mount up, gather everything

you can, dismount, Ice Block, have your friend Frost Nova, or you

Frost Nova when aggro gets redirected, Blizzard, Frost Nova when

they get close again, CoC, Arcane Explosion till they die. They have an

insane drop rate of Lei of Lillies, I had it drop 8 times for me when I

was leveling 52-57. I had 14 librams drop for me and I had tons of

blues and greens drop. I made 1200g just AoE grinding there. It was

fun and I leveled really fast and collected tons of gold.



3. The final spot I have to show you is near the Black Temple in the

Ruins of Kalabor. There is a group of Demon Hunter Supplicants

sparring with each other. There is basically 20-30 there. This may

seem like a hard task being that they do lots of damage to a Mage and

they have lots of health, but remember they are sparring with eachother, so they have low health, what you want to do is charge in when

they have 50-60% health and then Frost Nova, CoC, Arcane Explosion

a few times, and CoC again. They should all be dead and you should only

have 1-2k damage done to you if you had Ice Barrier and Mana Shield

up. This spot gives you a normal pace of 130g/hour. It’s a very good

pace and the drops are great. Remember this is level 70 only.

Motes, Motes, Motes!

Motes are one of the biggest money making items in the game. These guys

are amazing in the AH. What you basically want to do is get 10 motes of a

certain type to make a Primal. Primals indefinitely sell for more then 10

motes do.

The thing is if you see 10 motes of a specific kind sell for less then the

Primal does, buy out the 10 motes and resell the Primal for profit. For

example, you see 10 Mote of Fire in the AH for 23g. Now, Primal Fires are

going for 28g in the AH. What you do is buy to 10 motes as fast as possibleand sell for the 5g profit. I’ll be going into this with much more depth as we

dive into the topic.

The most expensive motes are Motes of Air, so I would farm those.

One thing before we go into the topic. All the motes can be purchased for

16s by Dealer Tariq in Auchindoun. If you are confused on where he is at,

he’s the vendor in the south section(Shadow Labyrinth)

One suggestion also is to glide in Elemental Plateau because that’s where the

most valuable motes are found with the highest drop rates. Farmers are

always here, so just glide your ass off. :P

Mote of Air – These are farmed off of Air elementals of course, but which

ones to farm? No Air elemental below level 62 will drop Mote of Air and the

best farming results would take place at 70, so where do you say to farm

these? The highest results are off the Air elementals in Elemental Plateau,

but farmers are there 24/7… the best place is the area around the Altar of

Shadows in Shadowmoon Valley. This place is hardly populated and they have

the 2nd highest drop rate!

Mote of Water – These guys are the 3rd most expensive and not as many

people farm them. I love farming them in Lake Nagrand. No one is ever

underwater there. It’s north of Garadar if you’re confused. They are also



farmed at Elemental Plateau which is farmer infested. My favorite spot

however is the little lake thing below Haala, no one is ever there and they

have a nice drop rate. Wherever floats your boat, though.

Mote of Fire – These motes are the 2nd

most valuable. A lot of people farmthese ones, too. They can be farmed in Elemental Plateau as well, but since

everyone is always there I prefer northern Blade’s Edge near the entrance

to Netherstorm. There are tons of them there, and I’ve only seen 2 farmers

there all my times going there.

Mote of Earth – These have basically the same drop rate off of any Earth

Elemental 65+ and there isn’t a specific area with tons of Earth Elementals

so it’s all random. You can also get these through mining and they sell for the

least. So I wouldn’t farm them.

Mote of Life – These are probably the easiest to farm and they aren’t too

bad on the AH, 3rd worst or 4th best. :P These can be farmed off Withered

Bog Lords or Bog Lords in Zangarmarsh which range in the 60-62 levels.

People hardly ever farm them unless they’re grinding, so if you’re level 62-

63ish, I really advise you grind here.

Mote of Shadow – I prefer farming these in Netherstorm off the Artifact

Seekers in Arklon Ruins. They have a pretty good drop rate and can also drop

Fel Armaments and Mark of Sargeras. Pretty decent, they basically drop off

ANY shadow like being.

Mote of Mana – These are a really easy one to farm too, I just farmed

everything in Kirin’Rar Village, the Mageslayers and the other ones. Another

alternative is the little crevice north of Area 52 the Mana Wraiths are

great.

In conclusion, after you farm 10 of each, you can transmute all the Primalsinto a Primal Wrath that sells for a lot.

What I used to do because my server’s economy was terrible was buy 1 of

each Primal then transmute into a Primal Wrath and resell. Because



altogether when I bought all 7 primals, the total equaled 92g and Primal

Wraths sold for 120g on my server. Whatever you want to do is cool, though.

If you’re a dedicated farmer, you can easily get a 130g/hour rate farming

Mote of Fire/Air/Water. Maybe even Mana.

Auction House Tricks

Playing the AHPlaying the AH is a very simple and amazing money-making concept. Before

TBC, I used this technique to make 6800 gold. All in 1 month. This kept me

supplied for TBC and my epic flyer. If you don’t know about it yet, there is anamazing addon called Auctioneer, this addon tells you the common price of anitem on the AH. Lets say Assassin’s Blade is on the AH for 145g andAuctioneer says it’s usually on for 230g. You buy it out as quick as possible andresell for a little over 200g. I did this with THREE Assassin’s Blades and just putthem back on the AH after I bought them for 130-145g each and made a 70-80gprofit off each. In all I made 240g just off of those in a mere day, along with all theother items I sold. I bought Shadowfang, Destiny, Hammer of the NorthernWind, Bloodrazor, Alcor’s Sunrazor, Kang The Decapitator, and ArdentCustodian that day. In all I made 1100g, my bad luck was that they were hardlyon for the rest of the month. So, if you see an item that’s listed at a much lower

price then Auctioneer says it should be listed at. Buy it out and resell it, that’s oneof the most basic concepts of making gold. At level 20, I used this for green itemstill I had 100g, then I bought some of the lower level blues, till I had 300g, then Istarted buying Shadowfang till I had 500-600g. You can use this right when youget 10g. It’s that easy. Remember to use this easy concept as much as possible.

Added details from the copy + paste: Playing the AH can also benefit from smallitems such as Linen Cloth or Wool Cloth. When I was a little level 8. I had 2g andbought out a stack of Wool Cloth for 1g because I saw the rest was on for 3g, soremember you can do this at any level get a decent amount of gold. Good luck!

Harsh but Helpful AH Trick

Look for a high demand low level/priced item. I usually pick Copper Bar

or Wool/Linen Cloth. Go with the median. Sell Wool Cloth for 75s-1g or

however much it’s going for put about 8 stacks up for that much and

then put 1-3 stacks up for 75g or 50g, high levels will usually buy tons

of Wool Cloth for their alts or mules and not even pay attention to the

price and buyout everything so you just might get lucky and end up withan extra 75-100g off of a little item like Wool Cloth.

Neutral AH Tips

Horde/Alliance only items aren’t available to opposing faction of course, so you could

sell Horde/Alliance only items to the opposing factions for lots, correct? Correct.When I was level 40, I had my own pet shop business in Tanaris. I bought thousandsof snakes and cockroaches from UC and Org to put in the Tanaris AH. They sell for50s each in UC and Org, I resold them for 5g each. Made a whooping 4g 50s profit.And I sold thousands a month, so I made a huge profit for my level. Use thistechnique to your advantage. Alliance will pay tons for a horde pet and vice versa. Iremember some Horde guy had some rare Alliance macaw pet thing and sold it for800g. Turns out it was an Alliance only BoE special event pet, so yeah. Right whenyou turn 40, do what I did. Be smart, and open up your own business.☺



Undercutting the AH

Undercutting the AH is a very simple tactic in which you have your item in the AHsell first. Too much undercutting could mean a bad thing however. Lets saySavory Deviate Delights are going on the AH for 10g per stack and you put it upfor 5g every single time you put it up. This could bring the whole economy ofSavory Deviate Delights DOWN. And that my friend is a bad thing. From 10g astack, it could go to as little as 5-6g a stack because you undercut it too much.Use undercutting to your advantage, but don’t do it so much as to where youbring the whole economy down.

Rare MobsRare mobs drop fairly better loot then other mobs. Most of thetime they drop greens, and rarely blues. It really matters onwhat mob you encounter. Here is a list of the best rare mobs you should hunt down.

Hellfire Peninsula Mekthorg the Wild - Hellfire Peninsula

Location : Near Hellfire Citadel or Zeth'Gor.

Zangarmarsh Coilfang Emissary - Zangarmarsh

Location : Around one of the four steam pumps. Can be a bit tricky because of the

frostbolt/arcane explosion it does, but still easily soloable.

Bog Lurker - Zangarmarsh Location : Umbrafen/Feralfen/Daggerfen Village.

Terokkar Forest Okrek - Terokkar Forest



Location : Veil Reskk/Shienor/Skith/Shalas

Doomsayer Jurim - Terokkar Forest Location : Roaming near Shattrath and Firewing Point. This one is a warlock, he uses

incinerate/shadowbolt/fear. Just make sure you're full life/mana before engaging him. Be

careful if he's near Shattrath, it seems he can be aggroed and killed by guards (bye byeloots !).

Crippler - Terokkar Forest

Location : Pretty much everywhere in Bone Wastes/Auchindoun. Harder to kill him as a

melee class because of the high armor buff he get when he reaches 50% life.

Nagrand Goretooth - Nagrand

Location : Most of the water places in Nagrand. He can be underwater so he's one of your best chance to get a rare monster if you're looking for them, but keep in mind that he's the

only crocilisk of the whole region so he's still easily spotted.

Bro'Gaz the Clanless - Nagrand

Location : Roaming in Nagrand, see map.

Netherstorm Ever-Core the Punisher - Netherstorm

Location : Circling around Manaforge B'naar/Ara/Ultris.

Chief Engineer Lorthander - Netherstorm

Location : Manaforge Ara / Ultris / Duro. Instead of Ever-Core, Lorthander can enter

Manaforges and could be a little more harder to find, he look likes a blood elf with a staff

(which isn't really easy to spot in these zones)

Shadowmoon Valley Ambassador Jerrikar - Shadowmoon Valley

Location : Illidari Point/ Eclipse Point / Netherwing Ledge / Ruins of Baa'ri.

Elite Rare Monsters (killable with a group)

Hellfire Peninsula Fulgorge - Hellfire Peninsula



Big earth worm with basically the same abilities as his friends, he will go underground

and repop at a random location near you.

He seems to be roaming randomly following three straight lines through HellfirePeninsula

Zangarmarsh Marticar - Zangarmarsh

Marticar is a strider, he doesn't hit very hard but has a nasty ray that could damage you a bit. But as all the other rare elite, there's really nothing you can't handle.

Blade's Edge Mountains Hemathion - Blade's Edge Mountains

Big drake. You will only find him in the flying mount accessible zone, west of Blade's

Edge Mountains. He's immune to fire but won't cause you much problems as long asyou've got the classic Decent-Tank/Healer/DPS combo. He drops rare breastplates.

Morcrush - Blade's Edge Mountains

What a surprise, a stone giant that splits when you damage him. Like any other stone

giant he will use a war stomp and split into an add every 25%. Possibly the most easilykittable rare elite. Only problem is, like Kraator, he can spawns everywhere in east

Blade's Edge so it's hard to fast-scout him.

Netherstorm Nuramoc - Netherstorm Standard Chimaerok, he may (poison) spit on you if you're not nice with him.

He seems to be roaming randomly following three straight lines through Netherstorm

Shadowmoon Valley Kraator - Shadowmoon Valley

Some kind of red inferno guy, he can summon adds and may conflagrate during the fight.Sounds like an impressive fight, but as other fights, it's nothing a group of lvl 70 can't

handle easily.

Can spawns nearly everywhere in Shadowmoon, pain in the ass to look for him.

Collidus the Warp-Watcher - Shadowmoon Valley

Big eye. This one loves dealing elemental damage with a ray that may kill your tank ifyou don't have proper healing. Nevertheless, it should be easy as long as you've got a

tank, a healer, and a dps class. Be careful if you're not using a warrior to tank, he can fear

and he may rush healers / DPS classes while your tank is running around screaming like agirl.

Great MobsAngerclaw Maulers – These guys are a great source of money in the 48-53range. Also it’s a big plus if you’re a skinner, these guys have great vendor trashand are skinnable. They have decent green drop rates and respawn like crazy.Have fun with no down time and making 40 gold an hour!

Formula: Enchant Weapon - Crusader – This baby still sells for 100-130g and is now much, much easier to farm. I got mine in 15 minutes,hope you get the same luck as me. 54-56 farming/grinding. It’s great!

Formula: Enchant Weapon - Demonslaying – This area is hardly ever farmedif farmed at all and this formula sells for 20-30g and has a decent drop rate.Where you’re going is the southwestern part of Azshara and farming Highborne

Apparitions and Highborne Lichling. Have fun. >.<

Scalding Whelps – This is the place to be at if you’re level 39-41. Theseguys are great grinding, awesome farming and a major plus if you’re askinner. They also have a chance of dropping Dark Whelpling which sellfor 60g on my server.

Blood Elves - Near the Legash Encampment in Azshara, there are lots of BloodElves with an insane drop rate on Runecloth. Now on my server, Runecloth goesfor more then Netherweave now so this is a plus, also they have really nice droprate for blues and greens.

Anguished Highbornes and some Suffering Highbornes – These guys are just southwest of Everlook and have a really nice droprate for Runecloth andgreens + blues. They also have nice coin drop. Also every week or so, PrincessTempestria spawns and she drops some phat lewt that goes for 100gish. So hitthis spot up. Btw, Princess Tempestria can’t be soloed at level 60, level 70 yeah,but not 60.



Phat Cloth - Over in northeastern part of Felwood, you can find a lot of Hellcallers , Betrayers , and Tricksters . These guys don't drop a ton ofgreat items but you will get a LOT of Runecloth and Felcloth which sellsvery well at the Auction House.

Twilight Stonecallers and Twilight Avengers – In Silithus, there are 2encampments with tons of Twilight dudes there. This was the best place tofarm ever before TBC. They have amazing coin drop, awesome runecloth,TONS of greens, often blues, and Hand of Edward the Odd dropped herethree times for me. This is the place to be at level 58 if you just want tostraight out farm.

ProfessionsProfessions are the cornerstone of making money. Craftingprofessions often make good gold, but the best money making

professions are gather professions. You can start using craftingprofessions at as little as level 5. I advise you to start at level 10,however. Read on for some of the best money making tips for eachprofession.

Last soloable instance is Uldaman. Uldaman isn’t soloed as much as it should be.

There are BoE epics that drop in here, along with tons of BoE Greens and blues. Plus

you have that amazing, coin drop, great disenchanting blues, awesome cloth and you

can run people through here for 30g a run. It’s absolutely crazy. Although I think

everything in here can be soloed, I’m not positive about the last boss. He is insanely

hard for a level 60 to solo, but I’m positive a 70 could solo him.

As of now, these are the best instances to solo for cash. I wouldn’t mind RFC, but it’s

not that great. Have a good time running these instances. >.<

Outland PetsYou must be thinking to yourself, who in the right mind would buy pets for 40g?There are lots of people who buy them to resell. I’ve sold a Mana Wyrmling Ibought to a twink for 120g. That’s a 300% profit. Here is a list of all the petsthat you can buy and resell either to twinks or to the neutral AH. ☺

Another great pet to purchase would be the snakes that the troll in Orgrimmarby the Mage trainer sells. A buddy of mine had a Horde mule give him all thesnakes to his Alliance character and he would call it his exotic Horde pet shop.

He would sell each snake for 8g. Be creative with pets you sell and how you sellthem, you can make a fortune off these little guys.

Low Level Gold Strategies

Professions are a great way to make gold for low levels, but of

course. There are many other ways for a level 10-20 to make

gold.

First off, for Alliance you can use the fishing bot to fish off the

coast of Auberdine for Oily Blackmouths, I used the bot for a

day straight on a NE Druid I created on Detheroc and got 33

stacks of Oily Blackmouths which I then sold for 600g.

For Horde, we use the same method, the fishing bot, but we use

it in Wailing Caverns or the oasis outside. What we’re looking for

are Deviate Fish which sell for more then Oily Blackmouths. I

found more Deviate Fish in a days time then I did Oily

Blackmouths, too!

Another Horde or Alliance gold strategy is farming Light

Feathers off of Plainstriders in The Barrens. Yes, it may be

somewhat difficult to farm them with Alliance with all the Hordearound, but it does pay off. They drop very often, and sell for 3g

a stack. The recipe for Savory Deviate Delight also has a high

drop rate from these guys which can be sold for 12-20g

depending on your server’s economy.



Another awesome spot for Alliance or Horde is the Defias

Windmill in Westfall. Once again, this may not be the smartest

place for a Horde character to hang out at, but boy do you

make a profit here. The co ords are 31,34 and I suggest you

follow them because there is no real way to describe where it’slocated. These guys have the fastest respawn rate out of any

mob in the game, so it’s a big plus. Linen Cloth drops almost

every drop here and the coin is good for your level too, along

with some of the greens and the nets they drop, this is a must

farm location for level 12-20.

Reputation ItemsReputation items can be sold for a lot. Scryers and Aldors will buyanything that they need to boost their rep up. Others will buy allsorts of items to buy what they need… is a great big list of items thateach clan needs. Mark of Kil’Jaeden, Mark of Sargeras, Fel

Armaments, Firewing Signets, Sunfury Signets, Arcane Tomes,Glowcaps, Fertile Spores, Umbafren Eels, Unidentified Plant Parts,Coilfang Armaments, Osh’gun Crystal Fragments, Pair of Ivory Tusks,and Arrakoa Feathers.

Mark of Kil’Jaeden – These have the highest drop rate off of Mo'arg

Doomsmith in Netherstorm but I see that place highly occupied most ofthe time so I prefer the Cabal group outside of Auchindoun. GreatNetherweave Cloth drop + Mark of Kil’Jaeden? You can’t go wrong.

Mark of Sargeras – Once again, I really prefer farming these off theCabal group outside of Auchindoun, they practically have the highestdrop rate for them and it’s hardly if ever occupied. Turn in both, Markof Sargeras and Mark of Kil’Jaeden to the Aldors to gain rep or just aseasily sell them to Aldor players.



Fel Armaments – These randomly drop off of most mobs that dropMark of Sargeras and Mark of Kil’Jaeden. I prefer farming these off Artifact Seekers and any Cabal mob as they have the highest droprate and these sell for 15-30g each, depending on your server’s

economy. Once again, sell these to the Aldors, as they boost rep forthem.

Firewing Signets – These signets drop off Firewing Warlocks , Bloodwarders , and Defenders out in Firewing Point. It’slocated in Northern Terrokar.

Sunfury Signets – These are similar to Firewing Signets and areScryer trade-in items. They sell for more then the Marks and they are

somewhat easier to find and I prefer farming them over the marksbecause of the greens that the mobs that drop these, drop. Themobs I prefer to farm are Blood Knights , Bloodwarders , and Researchers.

Arcane Tomes – Basically the equivalent to Fel Armaments but forScryers. These typically drop off the Blood Knights, Bloodwarders andResearchers that I listed among other blood elves in Netherstorm. Although, signets sell for more then marks, I believe Fel Armaments

sell for more than Arcane Tomes.

Glow Caps – These items are used to purchase items from the

Sporegarr. The main area to farm these is 35,33 in Zangarmarsh. Theyare also rewarded from a quest in Zangarmarsh. ALSO, 10 can beturned in for 750 Sporegarr rep.

Fertile Spores – These are basically used to gain rep with Sporegarr.10 can be turned in for 750 Sporegarr rep and 1 Glowcap. The best

place I like to farm them is 18,17 in Zangarmarsh. The mobs that dropthem have an amazing respawn time and drop them pretty often.Both Fertile Spores and Glowcaps can be sold on the AH for quite alot. (Fertile Spores and Glowcaps are used for Sporegarr rep)



Umbafren Eels – These obviously drop off the eels in the UmbafrenLake. They have a 40% drop rate and sell for about 7g on the AH,better then nothing, right?

Unidentified Plants – You can find these all over the place inZangarmarsh. They’re basically anywhere and everywhere. They arevery easy to collect, drop off almost all Zangarmarsh mobs and canbe sold for a ton.

Coilfang Armaments – My personal favorite. These sell for about7-12g EACH and drop like crazy in Steamvaults. I would personallyguild run it and just collect as much as possible. Me and my guild useto run this instance all day doing nothing but collecting these items

and got about 50 a day each. That’s a huge profit. They only drop inSteamvaults, just to let you know. All these items(Unidentified Plants,Umbafren Eels and Coilfang Armaments) are used for CenarionExpedition reputation.

OshuGun Crystal Fragments - Vir'aani Raider have the highest drop rate for

these items and they drop like crazy off of them. I highly suggest farming them off of

here. This is used for Consortium reputation so sell it to people who are trying to boost

their rep with Consortium.

Pair of Ivory Tusks – These are also used to boost your rep with theConsortium and drop off of any basic level 65+ Elekk. So, if you’re inyour friendly Nagrand neighborhood, I suggest you farm these,because last I checked they sell for 2g EACH.

Arrakoa Feathers – These feathers are used to boost your reputationwith Lower City. The two best spots to find these feathers are VeilSkith and Veil Reskk in Terrokar Forest. They sell for 15g/20 which is

about a 90-100g hourly rate. ☺

Daily QuestsDaily quests were added in Patch 2.1.0 I believe. Level 70’s hadareas where they could quest for money. There was a maximum of10 quests in different areas that you could do every day. Each quest

gave 12g, so you basically made an extra 120g a day. In this section,I’m going to break down each daily quest. However, there is arequirement before you can unlock how to do daily quests and youneed a flying mount to get to the areas that supply daily quests.



Skyguard Daily Quests

Fires Over Skettis Requires: Skyguard neutral, Threat From Above complete

Where: Sky sergeant Doryn at Blackwind landingWhat to do: Take the charges on your flying mount and bomb eggs on Skettis rooftops.

Reward: 11.99 gold, 350 Skyguard rep

Requires: Skyguard neutral, Threat From Above completeWhere: He has 3 different spawn points. Look at the map linked.

What to do: A very short escort, two special mobs spawn

What to do: take the bombs and destroy stacks of fel cannonballs. Beware, the cannonswill shoot at you and knock you out of the sky.

Wrangle more Rays Requires Skyguard neutral, Orgri'la neutral, Threat From Above complete, Ogri'la chaincomplete

What to do: Get the rays down to 20% and use the rope to catch them. You can return tothe gnome to deposit rays each time if you don't like them flying around you spazzing

out.

Thrallmar Daily Quests

and will flag you for pvp on a PvE server.

Rewards: 1 Gold, 3 mark of Thrallmar and 150 Thrallmar rep

AoE Farming/Grinding!

AoE Farming is basically my specialty and I’d like to share with you my 3favorite AoE farming/grinding spots all for different levels.

1. In Tanaris, there are a bunch of Wastewater Bandits a little north of

CoT in a hidden cove like area. What you basically want to do is a grab

another friend… I prefer healer or another mage and then run around

on your mount aggroing 20-30, maybe more. Then you get onto the

ship-like object and Ice Block. What your friend now does is run into

the center of all of it with Ice Barrier and Mana Shield up and Frost

Nova, both of you then Blizzard, Frost Nova when they get close, CoC,and then finish them off with Arcane Explosion. Awesome experience

for the 46-49 level range and awesome cash. 600g in all 3 levels.

2. In the Western Plaguelands, there are 2 fields close to each, both

filled with tons of Undead. What you want to do is the same thing as

above. Grab a friend… Mage or healer, mount up, gather everything

you can, dismount, Ice Block, have your friend Frost Nova, or you

Frost Nova when aggro gets redirected, Blizzard, Frost Nova when

they get close again, CoC, Arcane Explosion till they die. They have an

insane drop rate of Lei of Lillies, I had it drop 8 times for me when I

was leveling 52-57. I had 14 librams drop for me and I had tons of

blues and greens drop. I made 1200g just AoE grinding there. It was

fun and I leveled really fast and collected tons of gold.



3. The final spot I have to show you is near the Black Temple in the

Ruins of Kalabor. There is a group of Demon Hunter Supplicants

sparring with each other. There is basically 20-30 there. This may

seem like a hard task being that they do lots of damage to a Mage and

they have lots of health, but remember they are sparring with eachother, so they have low health, what you want to do is charge in when

they have 50-60% health and then Frost Nova, CoC, Arcane Explosion

a few times, and CoC again. They should all be dead and you should only

have 1-2k damage done to you if you had Ice Barrier and Mana Shield

up. This spot gives you a normal pace of 130g/hour. It’s a very good

pace and the drops are great. Remember this is level 70 only.

ConclusionWell, this is my first real complex guide and I assure you if you

read everything in here, you’ll be making gold like crazy.
