•Information on the Internet is located on many millions of computers throughout the world.

Names that refer to the Internet

The Information Superhighway - The Internet is like traveling on a highway to visit someone’s computer to get information. Every stop you make at a web page is like an exit off a highway.

The World Wide Web - If you had to draw a picture of the Internet it would end up looking much like a spider web. The spider web would span across the world.

Domain Name - the unique name that identifies an Internet site.

Domain Name Endings - refers to the type of website it represents.
