Essay Four (Optional) Is there any other information you would like to share that is not presented elsewhere in the application? (300 words maximum) In addition to improving my GMAT score, since my last application, I have also expanded my leadership experience through people management. While earlier, I had led global project teams based in India, UK, and the US, providing coaching and mentoring to team mates, this was my first experience in managing performance and career path for one direct report. I have learned that I enjoy helping others succeed and working collaboratively to develop skills that can help them grow. As an Indian female engineer, working in HR strategy consulting across multiple industries in the US, I can bring a global perspective to an already diverse class at Kenan Flagler. I am looking to contribute to Organizational Effectiveness classes with Prof Steve Jones and Prof David Hofman. Through class discussions I can also help my peers get better acquainted with some of the talent management issues facing global organizations. During the course of my application last year, I had the opportunity to meet with some wonderful KenanFlagler students and alumni. Harsh Joshi (’14), Omolara Oyelakin (’15), and Udipta Mukherji (’09) had different backgrounds and aspirations but it was great to see that they among the attributes they had in common all were friendly, helpful and very smart individuals. My conversations with them convinced me that KenanFlagler is the right place for an individual like me, who believes in becoming an impactful and positive leader with the support of an empathetic community. I have been encouraged in my many conversations with Alison Hope Jesse and have greatly benefit from her guidance in improving my application. The decision to reapply this year, after improving my GMAT score was thus a nobrainer. I hope my reapplication material can help demonstrate both my continued interest and also professional growth since last year.
