    FOREWORD

    Praise we say the presence of Almighty God who has given his

    blessing and guidance so that we can finish this paper with great ease to the

    task of observation visits to public and private universities. Without help he

    might not be able to finish making up properly.

    The paper is structured so that readers can find out information about

    various majors courses for further education. The paper was compiled by the

    author in a variety of obstacles. Whether it comes from self-compilers as

    well as those coming from outside. But with patience and especially the help

    of God finally makalahini be resolved.

    This paper contains the "information the university and its faculty"

    CHAPTER I

    INTRODUCTION

    1.1 Background IssuesScience and technology is always evolving and progressing, in

    accordance with the times and the development of human thinking. Nation

    of Indonesia as a developing country will not go forward as long as not

    improve the quality of human resources of our nation. Quality of life of the

    nation can be increased if supported by a well-established educational

    system. With an established educational system, allows us to think critically,

    creatively, and productively.

    Competition in the world of education, especially at university level the

    more difficult because the younger generation should be able to compete inthe world of work for the intellectual life of the nation then one other

    element that is established skill or ability we have also to choose the best

    university in order to support the work ethic later. This paper was made also

    for students who are majoring in the program know that a good university

    and college courses majoring gems.

    In Indonesia, many of the best public universities for students such as

    Indonesia university, university office, in Islamic universities Negeridll. But

    there are many private universities that do not lose competitiveness to

    achieve the best in the best graduate paper is designed to facilitate university

    1.2 The purpose of visits (GTC)The purpose of this visit is to add insight and knowledge not taught in

    A.University of Indonesia

    1. History

    Dutch occupation era (1849-1946)

    Dutch Colonial Government in 1849 to build a university which later

    was named Physician-Djawa School (School of Medicine for

    Javanese) in January 1851, this high school specializing in medical

    science.

    After a name change in the late 19th century, precisely in 1898, the

    name of the doctor-turned Djawa School School tot Opleiding

    Indische van Artsen (School of Medicine for Indigenous Doctors) or

    STOVIA. Over the past 75 years serves as a place STOVIA best

    education for medical students in Indonesia before closing at 1927.

    However, a School of Medicine and then built along with four other

    high schools in several cities in Java. High school is Hoogeschool te

    Technische Bandoeng (Faculty of Engineering) which was established

    in Bandung in 1920, Recht Hoogeschool (Faculty of Law) in Batavia

    in 1924, Faculteit der Letteren en Wijsbegeerte (Faculty of Literature

    and Humanities) in Batavia in 1940, and a year later built Faculteit

    van Landbouwweteschap (Faculty of Agriculture) in Bogor.

    Five high schools is a pillar in creating the Nood-Universiteit

    (University Emergency), which was built in 1946.

    Independence Period (1947-1960s)

    Nood Universiteit renamed the Universiteit van Indonesie in

    1947 and based in Jakarta. Some nationalist professors, one of which

    is Prof.. Mr. Djokosoetono, continuing its function as an instructor for

    the Universiteit van Indonesie in Yogyakarta, who then became the

    state capital.

    Capital of Indonesia and then back to Jakarta in 1949 after the Dutch

    recognized the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia. Universiteit

    van Indonesie Yogjakarta also moved back to Jakarta.

    Universiteit van Indonesie then collectively the "Universiteit

    Indonesia" in 1950. The university has a Faculty of Medicine, Law,

    Literature and Philosophy in Jakarta, Bandung is located in the

    Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture at Bogor, Faculty of

    Dentistry in Surabaya, and the Faculty of Economics at Napier.

    Faculties outside Jakarta later developed into separate universities

    between the years 1954-1963. University of Indonesia in Jakarta has

    a campus in Salemba and consists of several faculty such as

    Medicine, Dentistry, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Literature,

    Law, Economics, and Engineering.

    In further developments stand Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of

    Social and Political Sciences, Public Health, Faculty of Computer

    Science and Nursing.

    Modern Period (1970-present)

    Before the University of Indonesia campus in Depok was built in

    1987, the University of Indonesia has three campus locations are in

    Salemba, Pegangsaan East and Rawamangun. Once the new campus

    was established in an area of 320 hectares in Depok, college

    campuses Salemba Rawamangun moved while being retained for

    Kedoktera Faculty, Dentistry and Graduate Program.

    Not long after 2000, the University of Indonesia became one of the

    few universities that have a status of State-owned Legal Bdan in

    Indonesia. Changes in this status brings significant changes to the

    University of Indonesia namely greater autonomy in the

    development of academic and financial management so that the

    university grew into a world-class university.

    From this historical perspective, University of Indonesia has

    progressively grown into an institution that leads into a leader in the

    field of humanity and civilization by balancing academic values,

    morality and seni.Melalui these advantages, the University of

    Indonesia Indonesia intends to produce the nation into a society that

    more prosperous and democratic, with a focus on peace, justice and

    the values of a strong environmental care.

    Library

    UI has a library with a building area of 30,000 m2 and consists of

    library was designed with the concept of "sustainable building" in

    which energy needs using renewable sources namely solar energy

    and paper. UI central library will be able to accommodate about

    10,000 visitors at one time or about 20,000 people per day in

    addition it will also accommodate 3-5 million book titles. The library

    is also open to the public.

    Hostel

    UI has two dormitories, the Dormitory Students and Student

    Dormitory UI UI Depok Wismarini. The first hostel located in Depok

    campus, with a capacity of 480 rooms and 615 rooms daughter's son,

    that each room can be filled in one to three people. While other

    hostel is located on Jl. Otto Iskandardinata no. 38 East Jakarta with a

    capacity of 72 rooms and 111 rooms daughter's son. Student

    Dormitory Wismarini UI is specifically provided for students who

    studied at the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and other

    programs that are in the UI campus Salemba.

    Hall Students

    UI students Salemba Hall is one of the existing facilities under the

    coordination of the Directorate of Student Affairs and Relations

    Alumni.Gedung capacity of 300 people is often used for various

    activities such as seminars, meetings, and other-lain.Selain for UI

    students and residents, this building also leased to the public.

    5. Center for Student Activities

    Student Activity Center (Pusgiwa) UI is where there are a variety of

    exist in UI.Selain it, there are various facilities that can be used by UI

    students. the facility

    1. Wisma Makara

    Makara guesthouse located next to the Student Dormitory UI Depok. This

    place used as a means of accommodation in the area of South Jakarta and

    Depok city, and is often used for activities such as seminars, training,

    workshops, and others.

    2. Student Health Center

    The purpose of this building to serve several important needs of students,

    namely: Clinic, Pharmacy, Student Counseling.

    6. transportation

    1. yellow bus

    Buses are provided to serve the campus to serve the transportation needs of

    students on campus Depok.Di UI UI among residents, the bus is better

    known as the Yellow Bus (Bikun), because this bus has a dominant color

    kuning.Hingga 2005, UI has a 20 unit Campus bus. Buses regularly will

    serve the route on the campus on Monday-Friday, from 22:00 pk.07.00,

    while on Saturday only until 14.00 pm.

    2. campus bicycle

    Since 2007, the UI provides facilities Bike rental to students. Bicycles can

    be used by students with a way to show the officer guarding the KTM.

    Bicycles can be used as much, but should not be out of the bike path that has

    disediakan.Sepeda also be returned in the terminal anywhere.

    B. UNIVERSITY OF SYARIF HIDAYATULLAH

    1. A Brief History of the University

    On June 1, 2007 UIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta celebrates the

    "golden anniversary". For half a century, Sharif Hidayatullah State

    Islamic University Jakarta has been carrying out its mandate as an

    institution of learning and transmitting knowledge, research

    institution that supports the process of nation building, and

    community service as an institution that contributed programs to

    improve social welfare. For half a century, too, UIN Syarif

    Hidayatullah Jakarta has gone through several periods of history so

    that now it has become one of the leading Islamic universities in

    Indonesia. In a brief history of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic

    University Jakarta can be divided into several periods, ie periods of

    planting, the period of al-Jami'ah faculty IAIN, IAIN Syarif

    Hidayatullah periods, and periods of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic

    University.

    Period UIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta (Starting May 20, 2002)

    With the release of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Decree

    No. 031 dated May 20, 2002 IAIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially

    changed to UIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Opening made by the

    Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Hamzah Haz, on June 8,

    2002 in conjunction with the ceremony the 45th Anniversary and 9th

    Anniversary of the first pole erection and construction of Campus

    UIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta through funding Islamic Development

    Bank (IDB). One more step Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic

    University Jakarta adds faculties namely Faculty of Medicine and

    Health Sciences (Public Health Study Program) in accordance with the

    decree of the Minister of National Education No. 1338 / D/T/2004

    Year 2004 dated 12 April 2004 on approval of Public Health Study

    Program Implementation (S1 ) at the State Islamic University and the

    Director General of the Islamic Religious Institutions of the operating

    license of Public Health Study Program Undergraduate Program (S1)

    at the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta

    Number Dj.II/37/2004 dated May 19, 2004.

    As a form of re-integration of science, Syarif Hidayatullah State

    Islamic University Jakarta since the academic year 2002/2003 specify

    Until 2008 the 72nd graduation UIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta

    has produced alumni as much as 36 099 people, consisting of 19 174

    degree * One (S1), 1273 Masters Degree (S2), and 426 Degree

    Doctorate (S3). UIN Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta participants continue

    to prepare students to be members of the public who have the

    academic ability and professional who can apply, develop and or

    UMJ embryo is the Faculty of Law and Philosophy, founded in

    Padang Panjang on 3 Rabi 'H End of 1375, coinciding with the date

    November 18, 1955, then moved to Jakarta in 1957, with the new

    name of College of Teacher Education (PTPG).

    Subsequent developments, in 1958, Muhammadiyah PTPG

    transformed into the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education

    (Guidance and Counseling) within the University of Muhammadiyah

    Jakarta (UMJ).

    In accordance with the needs of the time, then on 21 September

    1961 opened the Faculty of Social Welfare (FKS), next UMJ continue

    to grow and develop, with the opening of the Faculty of Tarbiyah in

    1962 and in 1963 founded the Faculty of Law, Economics and

    Engineering. Until now UMJ has 8 (eight) Faculty, 6 (six) Master

    Program and 3 (three) Diploma Program.

    2. Facilities and Infrastructure

    Development of University of

    Muhammadiyah Jakarta from year to year can be seen with the

    opening of new faculties or graduates who berkualitas.Namun, which

    is not less important of it all is the growing development of facilities

    owned by the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta from year to

    tahun.Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta is always trying to improve

    support teaching and learning activities that aim ultimately is to get

    conclusion:

    In choosing Faculty / Field of Study in Higher Education who wish to

    choose the appropriate guidelines as necessary to continue the study of

    predictions based on the ability of (potential), talent interests you have to fit

    with the selection of the right university and the faculty that you really want

    to go.
