When we describe what people are like, we use the verb SER (to be). Do you remember the forms of the verb SER?

Yo soy Nosotros somos

Tú eres Vosotros sois

Él/ella/Ud. es Ellos/Ellas/Uds. son

In Spanish, adjectives have to agree with who or what they are describing in two ways:

1.) Gender (masculine/feminine)

Carlos es cómico

Elena es cómica

2.) Number (singular/plural)

Carlos y Paco son cómicos

Elena y Celia son cómicas

Adjectives that end in –o have 4 different forms:

MASCULINO FEMENINO

SINGULAR honesto honesta

PLURAL honestos honestas

Note that when you describe a group that

contains both men and women, the
