LedroLedroDa qualche anno ormai, la Valle di Ledro si è ritagliata uno spazio di notevole spessore all’interno dell’offerta musicale trentina.Grazie al sostegno finanziario ed organizzativo delle Amministra-zioni pubbliche e dei rispettivi Assessorati alla cultura, grazie al patrocinio della Cassa Rurale di Ledro, grazie alla direzione arti-stica di Angelo Foletto ed al mecenatismo di Roberto Furcht, gra-zie alla passione ed all’entusiasmo dell’Associazione Festa della Musica e del Comitato Pro Organo di Tiarno di Sotto, grazie alla collaborazione ed alla disponibilità del Consorzio e di tutte le Pro Loco ledrensi: grazie a tutti questi Attori, è stato possibile proporre ad un pubblico sempre più interessato, eventi di eccelso livello qualitativo.Sulla scorta delle esperienze passate e nella convinzione, che è preciso compito dell’Amministrazione pubblica, investire risorse per la promozione della musica di qualità, sia come momento di gratificazione e soddisfacimento culturale, sia come veicolo di promozione turistica del nostro territorio; anche per l’anno in cor-so è stato predisposto un ricco e variegato cartellone di eventi musicali. A partire dal 21 giugno con la Festa della Musica fino a i grandi concerti natalizi di pianoforte ed organo, artisti di livello in-ternazionale si esibiranno sui palcoscenici, sulle montagne, nelle piazze e nelle chiese della Valle di Ledro: a tutti gli appassionati il privilegio di goderne le performance.

Since a few years, Val di Ledro carved out a relevant space in the music proposal of Trentino. Thanks to the financial and organizing support of the public administrations, the cultural council depart-ments, the sponsorship of the Cassa Rurale di Ledro, the artistic direction of Angelo Foletto and the patronage of Roberto Furcht, the passion and enthusiasm of the Association “Festa della Musi-ca” and the Committee “Pro Organo” of Tiarno di Sotto, the sup-port of the Tourist Information Office and the local Pro Loco it has been possible to offer high quality events to a wider audience.Also in 2010, considered the past experience and convinced that the public administration must support high quality music events, both for cultural satisfaction and tourist promotion for Valle di Le-dro, has been organized a rich and varied bill of music events.From June, 21, day of the Fête de la Musique till the Christmas pia-no and organ concerts, international artists will perform on stages, in the mountains, in the squares and churches of Valle di Ledro. The audience has the chance to enjoy their music.

LedroLedroUno degli appuntamenti europei più importanti in tema di cultura, creato per coniugare musica e arte, linguaggi universali per eccellenza, ca-paci di superare ogni barriera.Questo è la Festa Europea della Musica in programma il 21 giugno, giorno del solstizio d’estate. Una grande manifestazione culturale durante la quale si esibiscono musicisti di ogni genere, professionisti e non, sui palcoscenici più inusuali: strade, vicoli, cortili, piazze e luo-ghi d’arte… Nata in Francia nel 1982, la manifestazione ha assunto dal 1995 un carattere internazionale coinvolgendo contemporaneamente, ad oggi, più di 60 città europee e 400 in tutto il mondo.La prima Festa della Musica in Valle di Ledro è stata organizzata nel 2006 e da allora è diven-tata un appuntamento irrinunciabile per coloro che amano fare e ascoltare musica, circondati da un’atmosfera di vera festa e divertimento.

Completely different from a music festival, the Fête de la Musique is above all a free popular fête, open to any participant (amateur or pro-fessional musicians) who wants to perform in it. This Music day allows the expression of all styles of music in a cheerful atmosphere. It aims at a large audience, working to populari-ze musical practice for young and not so young people from all social backgrounds. It gives an opportunity to communicate and share a very special moment through music. The musicians are asked to perform for free, and all the con-certs are free for the public. It’s the reason why they are used to play in open air areas as stre-ets and parks. Launched in 1982 by the French Ministry for culture, the Fête de la Musique is held in more than hundred countries in Euro-pe and over the world. It takes place every 21st June, the day of the summer solstice. In Valle di Ledro it has been organizing since 2006 and it became an important appointment for those who like to play and listen to music, surrounded by an unique atmosphere.

Il Trovatore è una delle tre gran-di opere (assieme a Rigoletto e La Traviata) con le quali Giusep-pe Verdi raggiunse la piena ma-turità artistica e fu riconosciuto come il massimo compositore italiano dell’Ottocento. Il lavoro successivo aveva già cominciato a prendere forma quando il Maestro aveva con-sigliato al librettista Salvatore Cammarano di comprare una copia di El Trovador, dello scrit-tore spagnolo Antonio Garcìa-Gutiérrez. Un dramma d’ispira-zione romantica, rappresentato a Madrid nel 1836, che aveva riscosso un grande successo e aveva colpito il pubblico so-prattutto per la potenza e l’ori-ginalità della trama e dei per-sonaggi. Verdi stesso amava queste qualità e prese accordi con Cammarano per un libretto che s’ispirasse a tale soggetto. Una volta libero dagli impegni

per il Rigoletto, quindi, comin-ciò a pensare all’opera che si sarebbe intitolata Il Trovatore. Una volta completata la sua ultima fatica, Verdi doveva tro-vare un teatro dove rappresen-tarla. Inizialmente, conoscendo il legame di Cammarano con Napoli, aveva pensato al Tea-tro San Carlo, ma poi decise di scegliere un teatro che dispo-nesse degli interpreti più adat-ti. Alla fine trovò un accordo soddisfacente con l’Apollo di Roma, e la data della prima fu fissata per il 19 gennaio 1853. Per Verdi fu un successo senza precedenti. Il pubblico ne fu en-tusiasta, La Gazzetta Musicale lo definì come un trionfo meri-tato e Il Trovatore fu definito un capolavoro, come viene consi-derato tutt’ora.

Il Trovatore is one of the three great operas (along with Rigo-letto and La Traviata) with which Giuseppe Verdi reached his full artistic maturity and was recognized as the greatest Ital-ian composer of the 1800s. His next piece of work had already started to take shape when the Maestro had rec-ommended to the librettist Salvatore Cammarano to buy a copy of El Trovador by the Spanish writer Antonio Garcìa-Gutiérrez. It was a story from the romantic period, set in Ma-drid in 1836, which had been very successful and had made a great impression on the pub-lic, above all for the power and originality of the plot and of the characters. Verdi himself loved these qualities and made an agreement with Cammarano to write a libretto based on this subject. Once free from work-

ing on Rigoletto, he started to think about the opera which would be entitled Il Trovatore. Once finished its opera, Verdi had to find a theatre where he could stage the opera. Ini-tially, being aware of the link between Cammarano and Naples, he had thought about the Teatro San Carlo, but then he decided to choose a thea-tre which had more appropri-ate artists available. Finally he came to a satisfactory agree-ment with The Apollo Theatre in Rome, and the date of the première was fixed for Janu-ary 19th, 1853. This turned out to be a success without prec-edent. The public was very en-thusiastic. La Gazzetta Musi-cale described it as a merited triumph and Il Trovatore was defined as a masterpiece, as it is considered even now.

Choro, samba, bossa nova: i mille colori del Brasile

Da Rio De Janiero un quartetto di chitarre che rinnova dall’interno il vastissimo repertorio del-la Musica Popolare Brasiliana. I punti di parten-za sono il choro, il samba, la bossa nova e altri filoni che coabitano in armonia in un universo musicale di grande varietà. E compositori come Pixinguinha, Baden Powell, Jobim, Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, Hermeto Pascoal, Guinga. I punti di arrivo sono nuovi arrangiamenti che donano freschezza a interpretazioni in cui con-fluiscono tecniche e tessiture del jazz e della musica classica.

In occasione del concerto è possibile effettuare un’escursione con le Guide Alpine del Trentino

In caso di maltempo il concerto verrà spostato alle ore 21:00 presso il Centro Culturale a Loc-ca

Choro, samba, bossa nova: the thousand colours of Brazil

A guitar quartet from Rio De Janiero reviving, as insiders, the vast repertoire of Brazilian folk music. They start out from choro, samba, bossa nova and other strands that find harmo-nious coexistence in a highly varied musical universe. Plus composers such as Pixinguin-ha, Baden Powell, Jobim, Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, Hermeto Pascoal and Guinga. With this they arrive at new arrangements which bring a freshness to performances in which the techniques and textures of jazz are fused with those of classical music.

On the day of the concert it is possible to go on an excursion with the Trentino Mountain Guides

If bad weather prevents musicians from reach-ing Passo Dil, the concert will be held at the Centro Culturale in Locca at 9 pm.

Il barbiere di Siviglia è un’ope-ra di Gioachino Rossini tratto dalla commedia omonima di Beaumarchais. Il titolo origi-nale è Almaviva, o sia l’inutile precauzione. Il libretto era stato già musicato l’anno prima da Francesco Morlacchi. Giovanni Paisiello aveva messo in scena il suo Barbiere di Sivi-glia nel 1782. La prima rappre-sentazione di Rossini ebbe luo-go il 20 febbraio 1816 al Teatro Argentina a Roma e terminò fra i fischi. A provocarli, secondo i pettegolezzi dell’epoca, sareb-bero stati gli impresari di un te-atro concorrente, il Teatro Valle; secondo altri, la colpa fu di al-cuni seguaci di Paisiello e della sua versione dell’opera.

Il fiasco della prima fu però riscattato immediatamente dal successo delle repliche e l’opera di Rossini finì presto per oscurare la precedente versio-ne di Paisiello. Il cast originario comprendeva nel ruolo del conte una grande celebrità: il tenore spagnolo Manuel García, che ricevette un compenso maggiore di quello pattuito con Rossini stesso; Rosina era invece Geltrude Ri-ghetti Giorgi, che l’anno dopo sarà la prima protagonista di Cenerentola. Negli anni successivi l’opera ottenne vasti successi in tutta Europa.

The Barber of Seville is an opera by Giocchino Rossini based on the comedy by Beau-marchais. The original name of the opera is Almaviva or the Useless Precaution. The libret-to was composed the year be-fore by Francesco Morlacchi.Though the work of Paisiello triumphed for a time, Rossini’s later version alone has stood the test of time and continues to be a mainstay of operatic repertoire. The première took place on February 20. 1816, at the Tea-tro Argentina in Rome. Bar-biere’s first performance was a disastrous failure: the audience hissed and jeered throughout,

and several on-stage accidents occurred. However, many of the audience were supporters of one of Rossini’s rivals who played on “mob mentality” to provoke the rest of the audi-ence to dislike the opera. The second performance met with quite a different fate, becom-ing a roaring success. The original cast included the famous Spanish tenore Manuel Garcìa and Geltrude Righetti Giorgi.

LedroLedro “Kawai a Ledro” nasce da un’idea di Roberto Furcht - amministra-tore delegato della Furcht & C. di Milano - che nel 2004 propose la prima edizione della rassegna concertistica oggi alla sesta edizio-ne. La stagione (cinque concerti estivi e uno ‘natalizio’), realizzata dal Comune di Ledro col patrocinio della Provincia di Trento, è de-dicata al grande repertorio pianistico e si avvale del Gran Coda da concerto “Shigeru Kawai” messo a disposizione degli interpreti. Appuntamento esemplare e molto atteso “Kawai a Ledro” presen-ta programmi di richiamo, pianisti affermati e debutti importanti: quest’anno quello di Michail Lifits, vincitore del Concorso Busoni 2009, per la prima volta in Trentino dopo la vittoria di Bolzano. Lifits eseguirà tre popolari Sonate di Beethoven; in conclusione, a fine agosto, Roberto Capello suonerà la Suite Espagnola di Albeniz e Rapsodia in blu di Gershwin.Al 200enario della nascita del poeta del pianoforte Frédéric Cho-pin è dedicata parte del cartellone che si apre l’8 agosto con un evento, portando al Centro Culturale di Locca l’orchestra Kaleido Ensemble che accompagnerà nell’eccezionale esecuzione dei due Concerti per pianoforte e orchestra la pianista argentina Ingrid Fliter, già medaglia d’argento al Concorso Chopin di Varsavia del 2000. Un sostanzioso compendio del mondo poetico di Chopin verrà dal recital di Cristiano Burato incentrato sulle Polacche e dal-la pianista cinese Jin Ju che proporrà una scelta delle composizio-ni dell’ultimo periodo. A Natale, Vincenzo Balzani realizzerà una delle sue brillanti lezioni-concerto dedicata alla storia pianistica della danza: dalla pavana a boogie woogie.

“Kawai a Ledro” was born from an idea of Roberto Furcht – man-aging director of Furcht & C. in Milan – who, in 2004, proposed the first edition of the concert festival that reaches this year the sixth edition. The season (five concerts during the summer and a Christmas one), carried out by the Municipality of Ledro under the sponsorship of the Province of Trento, is dedicated to the big piano repertoire and the interpreters play the Grand Piano for concerts “Shigeru Kawai”. “Kawai a Ledro” is an awaited festival and presents programs of great value and well-known pianists and excellent debuts: this year Michail Lifits, winner in 2009 of the F. Busoni International Competition, who will plays for the first time in Trentino after the victory in Bolzano performing three popular Sonatas by Beethoven; in the end of August, Roberto Capello will play the Suite Espagnola of Albeniz and Rhapsody in Blue of Gershwin. To the 200th anniversary of the birth of the piano poet Frédéric Chopin is dedicated part of the program that opens the 8th of August with an event: the Orchestra Kaleido Ensemble will ac-company during the exceptional performance of the two Con-certs for Piano and Orchestra the Argentinean piano player Ingrid Fliter, awarded with the Second Price on the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2000. A generous abridgement about the poetical world of Chopin will be given by the recital of Cristiano Burato, centered to the Polonaise and by the Chinese pianist Jin Ju that will propose a choice from the last period com-positions. For Christmas, Vincenzo Balzani will perform one of his brilliant concert-lessons dedicated to the piano history of the dance: from the pavan to the boogie woogie.

LedroLedroNata a Buenos Aires nel 1973, inizia a suonare a dieci anni e debutta in pubblico l’anno suc-cessivo. Nel 1989, terminati gli studi regolari al Conservatorio Nazionale di Buenos Aires con il diploma d’onore, Ingrid Fliter vince il concorso “Radio Nacio-nal” e “Festivales Musicales”; debutta cosi con l’orchestra del Teatro Colon, e effettua una pri-ma tournée nelle principali città del Sud America. Si perfeziona poi negli Stati Uniti (Summer Academy di Aspen, Colorado) e in Germania alla Stadtliche Ho-chschule für Musik sotto la gui-da di Vitaly Margulis. Nel 1994, vince la borsa di studi “Harmo-nia” di Buenos Aires e si trasfe-risce in Italia dove si perfeziona con Carlo Bruno. Nel 1994 ot-tiene primo premio al Concorso internazionale per Pianoforte e orchestra di Cantu; nel settem-bre del 1998 il quarto premio

(con il primo non assegnato) al Concorso “Ferruccio Busoni” di Bolzano. Nel Giugno 2000 si di-ploma all’ Accademia Pianistica “Incontri col Maestro” di Imola dove s’è perfezionata con Boris Petrushansky e Franco Scala. Nell’ottobre dello stesso anno ha vinto il secondo premio al Concorso Internazionale Pia-nistico di “Chopin” di Varsavia. Nel 2006 è stata la prima donna a vincere il prestigioso Gilmore Artist Award. In Italia ha suonato per tutte le più prestigiose sta-gioni concertistiche; nel 1999 ha partecipato in un concerto omaggio a F. Chopin nel Festi-val di Brescia e Bergamo. Ha compiuto una tournee in Giap-pone e partecipato al festival di Tiszadob (Ungheria), oltre a esibirsi in tutte le più importanti sale degli Usa. Di recente ha re-gistrato l’integrale dei Valzer di Chopin per l’etichetta Emi.

Ingrid Fliter was born in Bue-nos Aires in 1973. In 1989 she concludes her regular studies in the National Conservatoire. Participates in several national competitions where she wins first prices obtaining a debut recital in Teatro Colon in Bue-nos Aires. After this she begins her soloist activity playing in the most important cities of South America. Also she takes part in master classes with A.Jasinsky, R.Turek, A. Lonquich, L. Lortie, C. Bruno. In 1991 continues her studies in the Musik Hoch-schule of Freiburg under the leadership of Vitaly Margulis. In 1994 she won both first prices (classic and Romantic catego-ries) in the International Piano Competition of Cantu. In 1998 she obtained the forth price (with first not awarded) in the Feruccio Busoni International Competition in Bolzano. In

June 2000 she was graduated from the Music Academy “In-contri Col Maestro” in Imola, where she studied with Boris Petrushansky and Franco Sca-la. In July 2000 she participated in the Espinho Music Festival, Portugal, where she played the Sonata for two pianos and percussion by Bartók, with Zol-tan Kocsis and the Amadinda percussion group of Budapest. In august 2000 she will par-ticipate with a Chopin recital in the Piano Festival “La Roque D’Antheron”, France, and will make a tournee in Austria and Germany. In October 2000 she was awarded the Second Price on the International Chopin Pi-ano Competition in Poland and in 2006 she was the first woman who received the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award. Recently she recorded the complete Valzer of Chopin for EMI.

LedroLedroNato in una famiglia di musi-cisti a Tashkent (Uzbekistan) nel 1982, ha iniziato a studiare pianoforte all’età di 5 anni. Nel 1989 è entrato alla “Republican Special Music School Vladimir Uspensky”, scuola per bambini di talento, nella classe di Tama-ra Popovich e Marat Gumarov; nel 1991 ha suonato per la pri-ma volta in Russia, Ucraina, Au-stria, Italia, Germania, Francia, Svizzera e Giappone. Nel 1995 Lifits è stato invitato dalla Na-tional Philharmonic Orchestra diretta da Zokhid Khaknazarov, quindi nel 1998 è stato “artista ospite” della Televisione tede-sca (ZDF - 2). Nel 1999 ha inzia-to gli studi alla Hochschule für Musik und Theater di Hanno-ver. Nel 2003 ha vinto il Primo Primo ed il Premio del Pubbli-co al Concorso Internazionale Silvio Bengalli Val Tidone, Pia-nello (Italia), nel 2004 il Primo

Premio al Concorso Internazio-nale Città di Treviso (46esima edizione). Nel 2005 è entrato all’Accademia Pianistica di Imola studiando con Boris Pe-trushansky. Nel settembre 2006 ha vinto il Concorso Internazio-nale “Antonio Napolitano” a Vie-tri sul Mare ed il Primo Premio, il Premio con Orchestra e il Premio Speciale per la migliore interpretazione di Chopin al 19 Concorso Internazionale Rina Gallo a Monza. Dall’aprile 2008 si perfeziona a Hannover con Bernard Goetzke. Nel 2009 ha vinto in USA l’Hilton Head In-ternational Piano Competition e il al 57esimo Concorso Piani-stico Internazionale “Ferruccio Busoni” di Bolzano. Nella sta-gione 2009/2010 ha debuttato in recital e con orchestra negli Stati Uniti suonando alla Carne-gie Hall di New York.

Michail Lifits was born into a musical family in Tashkent (Uz-bekistan) in 1982 and he start-ed playing the piano at the age of five. In Sep-tember 2006 he won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition “Antonio Napoli-tano” in Vietri sul Mare and the First Prize, the Orchestra Prize, and a Special Prize for the best interpretation of Chopin at the 19th International Piano Com-petition “Rina Sala Gallo” in Monza. From April 2008 Lifits study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover in the atelier of Prof. Bernd Goetzke. In 2009 Mr. Lifits won the 1st Prize at the Hilton Head International Piano Competi-tion in USA, as well as the 1st Prize at the 57th F. Busoni In-ternational Competition in Bol-zano. Lately, he performed in United States in various recit-als and concert engagements, including his New York debut at the Carnegie Hall.

Il nuovo organo “Andrea Zeni” della Chiesa S. Bartolomeo di Tiarno di Sotto è stato inaugu-rato il 18 aprile 2004. Durante i lavori da subito si pose il pro-blema del vecchio organo – a trasmissione pneumatica -, che la Ditta Inzoli di Crema (Bs) aveva eretto nel 1952 sulle ce-neri dell’organo precedente a sua volta costruito da Giuseppe Bergomi di Chiari (Bs) nel 1872 a trasmissione meccanica.Per dare un senso di continu-ità e memoria storica agli or-gani che furono presenti nella splendida chiesa di S. Bartolo-meo fu deciso che dell’organo ottocentesco fosse recuperata gran parte della cassa armo-nica e del materiale fonico (canne) mentre dell’organo In-zoli, d’impostazione romantico sinfonica, fossero recuperate solo le canne. Questa scelta ha condizionato non poco la

possibilità di integrazione dei registri, nella loro qualità, carat-teristica e numero; occorreva naturalmente, salvaguardare l’armonizzazione e l’equilibrio nel nuovo organo a trasmissio-ne meccanica.Ma con uno studio attento e soprattutto la perizia e la pa-zienza dell’organaro Andrea Zeni di Tesero (TN), si è giunti al risultato finale che è sotto gli occhi (e gli orecchi) di tutti. Il nuovo organo ‘Andrea Zeni’ ha ben 1258 canne di cui 398 nell’organo Bergomi (1872), 373 nell’organo Inzoli (1952) e 487 nell’organo Zeni (2004). Il Comitato Pro Organo, con la collaborazione dell’Associazio-ne Lunelli di Trento organizza ogni anno un paio di concerti d’organo accompagnato da un altro strumento di altissimo livello.

The new organ “Andrea Zeni” in the church S. Bartolomeo in Tiarno di Sotto has been inau-gurated in 2004, April 18. Dur-ing the works there has been the problem of the old organ with pneumatic transmission, that the Company Inzoli from Crema (Brescia) had built in 1952 replacing the previous one with mechanic transmis-sion built by Giuseppe Bergo-mi of Chiari (Brescia). To keep the part of the first or-gans of the church, it has been decided to recover the sound box and the organ pipes of the nineteenth-century organ and the pipes of the Inzoli one, that had a symphonic line.This choice conditioned a lot the possibility to integrate the quality, the characteristic and number of the registers; of course it was very important to save harmonization and sound

balance of the new organ with mechanic transmission. Thanks a careful study and the patient work of the organ build-er Andrea Zeni from Tesero (Trento), it has been reached the final excellent result. The new organ “Andrea Zeni” has 1258 pipes, 398 of which are in the Bergomi organ(1872), 373 in the Inzoli one (1952) and 487 in the Zeni one (2004).The committee “Pro Organo”, with the collaboration of the Association Lunelli from Tren-to, organizes every year a cou-ple of high level concerts with the accompaniment of another instrument.

collaborando con importanti di-rettori d’orchestra in Italia (Teatro alla Scala, Settimane Musicali di Stresa, Società del Quartetto e Società dei Concerti di Milano, Accademia di S. Cristiano Burato was born in 1968 and achieved a first-class honors diploma at the Mantua Conservatoire with Rinaldo Rossi. He continued his artistic perfectioning along with Sergio Perticaroli at the “S.Cecilia” Academy in Rome graduating with first-class honors.He is prize-winner in several na-tional and international piano competitions, among which the “Porrino” of Cagliari, the “Jaen Prize” of Jaen (Spain), the “Sydney International Piano Competition”, the “Tomassoni Int. Piano Comp.” of Cologne, the “World Piano Competition of London” and the “Leeds Int. Piano Comp.” In 1996 he won the Grand Prix on the prestig-ious “Dino Ciani International Piano Competition” at the “La Scala Theatre” in Milan, get-ting the unanimous vote of the international Jury.

Since he was 14 he gave many concerts and went on tours abroad to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, England, Spain, Greece, Rumania, Po-land, United States, Canada and Australia, performing with the most prestigious orches-tras. His interpretation of Cho-pin excited very great acclaim everywhere. After the awards from International Juries in Sydney, Cologne and London he was invited to give lots of Chopin’s recitals: at the Chopin Festival in Duszniki (Poland), at the Townhall of Paris for the 150th death anniversary.He recorded for Phoenix Clas-sic, recently the Chopin’s Con-certs with the Transilvanian State Orchestra.For artistic merits he has been awarded the Medal of the Pres-ident of the Italian Republic.

Vincitrice di importanti competi-zioni (Concorso Internazionale Rumeno di Bucarest, China Na-tional Piano Competition, UNISA International Piano Competition, Concorso Pianistico Interna-zionale Theodor Leschetizky, Beethoven Society Competi-tion di Londra) e premiata nei concorsi Cajkovskij di Mosca e Reine Elisabeth di Bruxelles, Jin Ju ha suonato nei cinque con-tinenti nelle più prestigiose sale come la Konzerthaus di Berlino e Vienna, la Bridgewater Hall di Manchester, la Sala Grande del Conservatorio di Mosca e il Palais de Beaux Arts di Bru-xelles, la Sala Verdi di Milano, il

tory, the Palais Des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Sala Verdi in Milan and Teatro della Pergola in Flor-ence, the Forbidden City and all major concert halls in China. Her concerts have been broadcast-ed by TV and Radio throughout China, as well by Classica Italia, Canvas Belgium, BBC and NPR’s “Performance Today” in USA. LedroLedroNato a Campi Salentina nel 1951, ha iniziato gli studi con il padre, tenendo il suo primo concerto a soli sei anni, pres-so la prestigiosa Konzerthaus di Vienna, suscitando grande entusiasmo di pubblico e di cri-tica. Ha quindi proseguito con Rodolfo Caporali, con il quale si è diplomato presso l’Accade-mia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Roma nel 1974. Lo stesso anno vince il Concorso Pianisti-co “Città di Senigallia” e “Ma-ria Canals” di Barcellona, e nel 1975 il Primo Premio al Con-corso “Ferruccio Busoni”, che da 25 anni non era stato asse-gnato ad un pianista italiano.Nella sua carriera ha dato più di 2000 concerti. Ospite delle maggiori istituzioni concer-tistiche italiane ed estere, è regolarmente invitato dai più importanti festival internaziona-li e ha tenuto numerosi recital in Francia, Austria, Svizzera,

Germania, Belgio, Olanda, Un-gheria, Jugoslavia, Spagna e Lussemburgo. Ha inoltre effet-tuato una tournée in Australia nel 1989. Nel 1991 ha inciso i valzer di Johann Strauß nelle trascrizioni virtuosistiche dei più famosi pianisti del passato. Tra il 1997 e il 1998, nella dop-pia veste di solista e direttore, ha eseguito in varie città euro-pee il Concerto K.466 di Mozart.Ruolo importante riveste l’attiva cameristica, in collaborazione con il Quartetto Kodály di Bu-dapest. Ha registrato l’intero Corpus di Lieder di Schubert nelle trascrizioni di Liszt. In-cide per Fonit Cetra, Edizio-ni Paoline, A.M.C., Acustica. Viene costantemente invitato a presiedere le giurie di con-corsi nazionali ed internazio-nali. È docente di pianoforte principale presso il conserva-torio “Arrigo Boito” di Parma.

Cappello was born in 1951 in Campi Salentina and began his career when he was six, when he held the first concert by the prestigious Konzerthaus of Vienna. A transcendental technique, an extremely refined artistic and spiritual sensibility com-bined with a constant cultural engagement in the choice of repertory, make the interpreta-tive art of Roberto Cappello on the top of the contemporary concert panorama. He can extraordinarily lead and combine both an intensive and aristocratically career as a concert player and as a profes-sor, being involved in several master classes, seminars and specialization courses.Due to his extraordinary atti-tude to an objective and impar-tial judgment, he is constantly invited to preside the juries of national and international pi-ano competitions.

Aida è un’opera in quattro atti di Giuseppe Verdi, su libretto di Antonio Ghislanzoni, ba-sata su un soggetto originale di Auguste Mariette. La prima rappresentazione avvenne alla Khedivial Opera House del Cairo il 24 dicembre 1871. Ismail Pasha, kedivè d’Egitto, commissionò l’opera a Verdi per celebrare l’apertura del Canale di Suez nel 1869, ma la prima dell’opera fu ritardata a causa della guerra franco-prus-siana. Quando finalmente la pri-ma ebbe luogo, l’opera ottenne un enorme successo e ancora oggi continua ad essere una delle opere liriche più famose.Aida, principessa etiope, viene catturata e condotta in schiavitù in Egitto. Radamès, un coman-dante militare, è combattuto nella scelta tra il suo amore per Aida e la sua fedeltà al Faraone.

A complicare ulteriormente le cose, Radamès è amato da Am-neris, la figlia del Faraone, ma non ricambia il sentimento del-la principessa. Il Re degli etiopi (Amonasro, padre di Aida) si fa catturare, per vincere la guerra, ma nessuno conosce la sua vera identità. Radamès dice ad Aida che la guerra finirà con un ultimo attacco. Amonasro lo sente e fa fallire l’attacco e la guerra è vinta dagli etiopi. Radamès si fa punire dal padre e dal Faraone e viene seppel-lito vivo. Aida, innamorata di lui, si fa seppellire vicino a lui.

LedroLedroNato a Milano nel 1951, dopo avere conseguito la maturità scientifica, si diploma in pia-noforte presso il Conservatorio “Verdi” di Milano sotto la guida di Alberto Mozzati col massimo dei voti e la lode. Inizia la car-riera concertistica a 14 anni vin-cendo i Concorsi Pianistici Na-zionali di La Spezia (E.N.A.L.) e “Förster-Ricordi” di Milano. A 16 anni vince il Premio “Liszt” al “Maria Canals” di Barcellona. Tre anni più tardi vince il secon-do premio al “Pozzoli” di Sere-gno, il primo premio assoluto al “Città di Treviso” ed al “F.P. Ne-glia” di Enna ed il primo premio al “G.B. Viotti” di Vercelli. Nel corso della sua carriera Balzani ha tenuto circa 1000 concerti suonando per le più importanti Società di concerti e per presti-giosi teatri; effettua numerose tournée all’estero ed ha al pro-

prio attivo numerose registra-zioni radiotelevisive. Dal 1973 è titolare della cattedra di piano-forte principale: attualmente in-segna presso il Conservatorio “G. Verdi” di Milano. Dal 1974 è invitato a far parte di Giurie di Concorsi nazionali ed inter-nazionali, e tiene corsi di Alto Perfezionamento, Master Clas-ses, e conferenze sia in Italia che all’estero. Dal 1984 Balzani unisce all’attività concertistica e didattica quella organizzativa. É stato direttore artistico della Società dei Concerti di Como e del Piano Master di Gravedona; attualmente è direttore artistico dei Concorsi Internazionali: “Valsesia Musica” (“Viotti – Val-sesia” fino al 1999), “Montero-sa – Kawai”, “Città di Pavia” e “Città di Cantù” è anche sovrin-tendente dell’Accademia piani-stica Tèchne di Caltanissetta.

Born in Milan in 1951, Vin-cenzo Balzani graduates with full honors at Milan “G. Verdi” Conservatory with A. Moz-zati. To keep the part of the first or-gans of the church, it has been decided to recover the sound box and the organ pipes of the nineteenth-century organ and the pipes of the Inzoli one, that had a symphonic line.This choice conditioned a lot the possibility to integrate the quality, the characteristic and number of the registers; of course it was very important to save harmonization and sound

balance of the new organ with mechanic transmission. Thanks a careful study and the patient work of the organ build-er Andrea Zeni from Tesero (Trento), it has been reached the final excellent result. The new organ “Andrea Zeni” has 1258 pipes, 398 of which are in the Bergomi organ(1872), 373 in the Inzoli one (1952) and 487 in the Zeni one (2004).The committee “Pro Organo”, with the collaboration of the Association Lunelli from Tren-to, organizes every year a cou-ple of high level concerts with the accompaniment of another instrument.
