Conjugation of the Irregular Verbs ‘ездить’, ‘стоять’ and
‘ходить’-PracticeRead the sentences and translate them paying attention to the forms of the verbs.
1.Я езжу на метро, а ты ездишь на такси.2.Банк стоит на главной улице.3.Студенты ходят в библиотеку.4.Вы едете в зоопарк.5.Мой друг едет на автобусе, а мой брат ходит пешком.6.Я стою на главной улице.

Expressing Ownership-Phrase “У меня есть”
You are already familiar with the phrase “У меня есть...”-”I have…” meaning possession.Example: У меня есть машина- I have a car.Let’s now see how this phrase changes with different subjects in the sentence.

Expressing Ownership- Phrase “У меня есть”(Examples)
Read the sentences and translate them paying attention to the way possession is expressed.
1.У меня есть зелёная машина.2.У него есть старший брат.3.В Москве есть метро.4.В Северной Каролине есть парк.5.У них есть хороший молодой учитель.6.В России есть университеты и институты.

Expressing Lack of Ownership or Nonexistence.
1. Russians express a lack of ownership using a structure “У + Genitive case + нет+ Genitive case”Never use “не есть” instead of “нет”Examples: У него нет собаки (He does not have a dog)
2. To express nonexistence Russians use нет+ Genitive case.Examples: Здесь нет автобуса (There is no bus here)
Здесь нет банка (There is no bank here)
3. To give a short negative answer about ownership it is enough to say “нет”.Examples- У них есть родственники? - Нет

Talking About Your TownIndicate which of the following places are there in your own town. Use the following constructions. Remember when you talk about absence of something you use "нет" + noun in Genitive case. You coach will help you.
Example:Я живу в Шарлотте. В Шарлотте есть аэропорт. В Шарлотте нет цирка.
