Seed Priming

Priming is a seed enhancement method to improve seed germination.

‘Seed pre-treatment that provides water in a controlled manner, allowing seeds to initiate the early stages of germination (metabolic stimulation), without permitting radicle protrusion’.Primed seeds germinate faster and seedling emergence is synchronized.

Priming methods: - Osmopriming (using liquid carriers of water), - Solid matrix priming or SMP (using solid water carriers) - Hydropriming (using pure water)
