Prison Ministry Conference: Reimagining Justice in the Age of

Mass IncarcerationMonday, Mar. 5 – Wednesday, Mar. 7. Featured

presenters: The Rev. Gregory J. Boyle, and Sister Helen Prejean. Prioritizing the voices

of formerly incarcerated people, those work-ing on the front lines, and

those whose ideas challenge our preconceptions of what criminal justice looks like,

Donations Needed for ASC Food MinistryEvery Monday 70 to 110 low-income and homeless men, women, and children come to All Saints to receive food, toiletries, clothing, and social service referrals. Donations are gratefully received each Sunday, in the basket on the lawn by the “Cookie Table” or in the main office on weekdays. Items needed include: deodorant, razors, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, underwear, and t-shirts (all toiletry items are preferred in travel size). Interfaith Study Group Presents Understanding the Quran In Contempo-rary Times with Salam Al-MarayatiSunday, Mar. 11, 5:00–7:30 p.m., at the Islamic Center of Southern California located at 434 S. Vermont Ave in Los Angeles. Salam Al-Marayati is president and co-founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, (MPAC). He is recog-nized for his commitment to improving public understanding of Islam and policies impacting American Muslims. He oversees MPAC’s ground-breaking civic engagement, public policy and advocacy work. Please bring an open heart, a mind willing to listen and learn and a vegetarian dish to share in our potluck. Jazz Vespers: Bill Cunliffe & His Latin Band ImaginaciónSunday, Mar. 18, 5:00 p.m., on the Chancel. Jazz pianist, Grammy Award-winning arranger and our composer-in-resi-dence Bill Cunliffe is widely known for his swinging and lyrical pianism and his creativity and invention as a composer and arranger of jazz. He graduated from Duke University and the Eastman School of Music, where he won several Down Beat Awards. Bill was the 1989 winner of the $10,000 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Award, and has received stipends from the National Endowment for the Arts. A number of his jazz instructional books are published by Alfred Publications, his big band compositions are published by Kendor Music and Otter Music, and his choral music is self-published on his website: www.billcunliffe.com.
