Introduction

اللهم إني عبدك ، ابن عبدك ، ابن أمتك ، ناصيتي بيدك ، ماض في حكمك ، عدل في

يت به نفسك ، أو أنزلته في كتابك ، أو علمته أحدا قضاؤك ، أسألك بكل اسم هو لك ، سم

من خلقك ، أو استأثرت به في علم الغيب عندك ، أن تجعل القرآن ربيع قلبي ، و نور

ي صدري ، و جالء حزني ، و ذهاب هم

‘O Allaah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant, my forelock is in Your hand, Your

command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which

You name Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the

knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a

departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety.’

This is the dua for sorrow and anxiety

You proclaim your and your parents servitude

You confess that the entire control of your life is in Allah’s Hands

You ask by all the names of Allah

You ask Allah to make the Quran alive and a spring of your heart

The month of Ramadan is the month of the Quran

You need to know the names of Allah

o Once you know the names, then Allah will open the secrets of this

Blessed book to you

Hadith من صام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا ، غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet as saying: If anyone fasts during

Ramadan because of faith and in order to seek his reward from Allah, his

previous sins will be forgiven to him…

This is a promise from Allah - But there is a condition

o As long as you are fasting, you need to keep renewing the intention (at

every moment during your fast) for whom are you fasting?

What is more beloved the Allah ? The nights of Ramadan or the mornings?

Mornings are more beloved because the fast is during that time

Your deeds are accepted and multiplied while you are fasting

Your Quran is accepted while you are fasting

Your dhikr is accepted while you are fasting

o People think the opposite! They think that the nights are more important

so they sleep during the day while they are fasting and then they stay

awake at night when the fast is over!

In detail, you may not be able to complete one name 100% your entire life

But in order to make you Quran and your duas more meaningful, you need to

at least have an idea about all the names of Allah

You want to make this Ramadan different than the previous one

o You want to live this Ramadan, by the Help of Allah , under the shade

of His names

When you make Allah your concern, by His names and attributes, you will

not be worried about anything else

Fasting is one pillar of Islam

o But for this pillar, you need faith

You need to activate Allah’s names in your life

Allah’s names in the Quran

Surah At-Taha #8

Don’t you want to know Allah ??!!?!

Allah is the main name of Allah

All the other names are attached to this name

No one deserves your love and attachment

Why? because to Him belongs all the beautiful names

Surah Al-Hashr #24

Who is Allah ? ر المصو الخالق البارئ

To Him belong all the beautiful names

الحسنى = reaching to the max of its beauty

When you know Allah , then you will free Allah from all imperfections

o You will glorify Him SubhanAllah

Surah Al-Aaraaf #180

The most beautiful names belong to Allah

What do you do with them? call Allah by those names

o Your scale will be heavier

o Your deeds will be multiplied

There is no equality between one who has no knowledge of Allah’s names

and the one who knows few names and the one who knows many names

Leave those people who are deviating in the names of Allah

o Those who misinterpret the names of Allah

o Those who make pictures of these names

Surah Al-Israa’ #110

Say O Muhammad – Call Allah or call Ar-Rahman

Whoever you call, you are calling Allah by those names

You need to understand and feel those names

You need the names of Allah more in Ramadan because you want the

pleasure of Allah , you want the guidance to the good deeds, you want the

taqwa, you want your repentance to be accepted, you want to increase in faith,

you want to be different than before, you want to do more good deeds, you

want your duas to be accepted…

In order to grab these opportunities, you need the names of Allah !

Fasting is for Allah so any worship you do during the day has more value – because

you leave for desire for food & drink for Allah . When you know Allah , only then

will you be able to fast for His sake!!

Ar-Rabb

Allah is the nurturer

The one who will upgrade you, nurture you, reform you

You want to be reformed in Ramadan

Ramadan is an opportunity for nurturing (of the self/soul)

You will be reformed with everything that Allah has sent – commands,

legislations, decree, the month of Ramadan being a gift (an opportunity)

Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

If anyone wants to distract you during this month then you want to turn to Ar-

Rahman Ar-Raheem

Allah is the Most Merciful

More Merciful than the mercy of any human being

Never despair from the mercy of Allah

Allah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem will not make you feel sad

Al-Hayy

The Perfect life belongs to Allah

He is always there – never dies

Surah Al-Furqan #58

You want a perfect Ramadan so call Allah by this name

He is the ever-living, never dies

Allah will never separate from you (Allah doesn’t sleep)

Al-Hayy – makes you worship Allah perfect

It will make you live Ramadan with Ihsan

Keep yourself alive with the remembrance of Allah

Al-Qayyum

Ayatul Kursi the greatest Ayah in the Quran

Allah doesn’t need anyone – but every creation needs Allah

Allah gives them an opportunity

Allah takes care of Himself

Allah will make you and your worship “qayyim” – standing and perfect

Treasures from Paradise when you say ال حول و ال قوة اال باهلل

It’s a feeling in your heart when you go through imperfect situations in life –

you ask the one who is alive, never dies, perfects your life…to fix your

situations

يا حي يا قيوم برحمتك استغيث

Al-Hayy Al-Qayyum includes all the other names of Allah together

Al-A’lee, Al-A’laa, Al-Muta’al

About the greatness / highness of Allah

Allah is not everywhere, He is high above in the 7th heaven

problems and worries

If you want anything from Allah , He is the most High

Even though Allah is so high, physically you are far away from Him, but He

is never disconnected from you! He hears you and responds to you

You will be high in position with Allah when you are connected with Allah

– He is the one who will elevate you (not money or position)

Your good deeds are raised to Allah – that’s how you are elevated in front of

Allah

When you do Sujood, you are going to the lowest point, praying to the One who

is the Most High and you say سبحانك ربي العالى

Surah Al-A’alaa #1

Al-Kareem

Allah is Al-Kareem / the month of Ramadan is Kareem

Kareem means a lot of generosity and that generosity will not be discontinued

Even though you are tested during your life, you are surrounded by generosity

Prophet Muhammad was always generous but in the month of Ramadan, he

was more generous

Allah gives you the blessings before you even ask (and you may not even

deserve it)

You don’t be miser – be generous

Your dua during the month of Ramadan will be more effective because you

know you are asking the One who is the most generous, so your duas will be

responded to

Your taqwa will make you more honorable to Allah

o You can increase your taqwa in Ramadan

Hadith if you love anyone for Allah , you are giving honor and respect to

Allah

Kareem means generous and also precious or with status (nobility)

Al-Azeez

Nobody can defeat or harm Allah – the honor is for Allah

كاللهم اعزني على طاعت

All the honor belongs to Allah

Don’t humiliate yourself to any human

Don’t weaken yourself in front of your desires

You need to ask for the honor from the Most Honorable (العز من العزيز)

Al-Wadood

Wadood – full of pure, beautiful love

Everyone likes to be loved

Life without love is dry, unhappy, depressing

Everyone in life is running after love

Allah Al-Wadood is the most Beloved (الحبيب)

Allah’s love is the most perfect

When Allah loves you, then you don’t need anything else in life

When you feel the love of Allah in your heart, then you don’t want any other

love (no other love will stay in your heart)

Allah deserves to be loved

In Ramadan while you are fasting, praying, making dua, you need to know in

your heart that you are doing all this worship for the One who is Al-Wadood!

When you know Allah Al-Wadood, you will melt in His love

You don’t want to be involved with anything else in Ramadan, you only want to

be busy with Al-Wadood then you will really enjoy

الذين آمنوا اشد حبا هلل

Allah is the love who is putting love in the relationships

Allah puts the love and affection between the husband and wife

Surah Maryam #19 Those who believe in Allah and do righteous good

deeds, Allah will make between them, pure love

O Allah, I ask Your love, and I ask the love of everyone You love and I want the

love of the deeds which You love

When you get the love of Allah , you get everything else

Al-Haleem

The One who is Forebearing

Allah is forbearing of all the sins you do!

You may be unaware of the sins that you do but Allah ]] will overlook them

Your sins will disturb your worship but Allah overlooks most of your sins

This is generally for the sins you do without knowing (sins out of ignorance)

Al-Ghafoor, Al-Ghaffaar, Al-Ghafir

The One who forgives

You want this forgiveness all the time – specially in the month of Ramadan

When you fast in the month of Ramadan, with faith and hoping for the reward,

Allah will forgive your sins

When you establish the night prayer in the month of Ramadan, with faith and

hoping for the reward, Allah will forgive your sins

When you establish the night of Decree in the month of Ramadan, with faith

and hoping for the reward, Allah will forgive your sins

There are so many opportunities for forgiveness of the sins – Wudu….

There are no sins greater than Allah’s forgiveness

Don’t despair from the mercy of Allah

Ramadan is the month of Forgiveness

You need to ask Allah to give you the forgiveness

When you know that Allah is the most Forgiving, then you forgive people

too, the more you forgive, the more Allah will forgive you

Allah’s forgiveness is more than your forgiveness

o When Allah forgives you, it doesn’t affect Him

o But you are in need of the forgiveness from Allah

Al-Adheem

Allah is the most Magnificent

When you bow down in ruku’, you magnify Allah

o سبحان ربي العظيم

You magnify Allah by magnifying the symbols of Allah

o Ramadan is a symbol of Allah

The One who is most Beautiful

You make dua to see Allah in Paradise

Allah is the most Beautiful - so you beautify yourself, your house, your

deeds, your tongue, your speech

Hadith Allah is beautiful and loves the beauty

Don’t do things with beauty because you love it, do it because Allah loves

the beauty

Nothing is like Allah’s beauty

Allah appreciates your beauty! Beautify your heart (remove the ugly sins)

Ramadan is a chance to beautify yourself inside and out

Al-Adheem

Allah is the most Magnificent

When you bow down in ruku’, you magnify Allah

o سبحان ربي العظيم

You magnify Allah by magnifying the symbols of Allah

o Ramadan is a symbol of Allah

o Magnetic this month

o Surah Al-Hajj #32 و من يعظم شعائر هللا فإنها من تقوى القلوب

Al-Qadir, Al-Qadeer, Al-Muqtadir

This name shows the ability and power of Allah

In Ramadan, ask Allah to decree for you all the situations that will make it

easy for you to worship

o Sometimes some decree will distract you in worship

Don’t busy yourself in planning how you will worship Allah

o Don’t restrict yourself with your plans

o You may be able to do more than what you plan

Just do your good deeds at the moment

Laylatul Qadr comes from this name! Night of Decree

This name teaches you not to rely on yourself

Allah is the most rich in all aspects

He doesn’t need anything from anyone

It teaches you that you are nothing – you are poor to Allah

Surah Fatir #15 you are poor to Allah

Don’t enter Ramadan thinking you are rich! Enter Ramadan knowing that you

are poor and Allah will enrich you with His richness

o Enrich you with faith

o Enrich you with food and drinks

o Enrich you with taqwa / good character

o Enrich you with sincerity

Don’t rely on any other poor person like yourself

Faqeer – the one whose backbone is broken

He is the most rich and He is the one who enriches

Allah guides you to enrich yourself by doing good deeds

Al-Wahid, Al-Ahad

Surah Al-Ikhlas

One of the names of Allah is the Only One = unique

There are no multiple gods

Allah calls Himself the only one

You need to invoke the One and Only

This name gives you the devotion & sincerity

Al-Wahaab

The One who gives you gifts without even asking

Allah gave you the month of Ramadan without you asking

Allah gives blessings without deserving and without any expectations

Allah does not expect your worship, but when you do the worship, you

expect the reward from Him

Al-Afu’

This name is in the dua for Laylatul Qadr

The One who pardons your sins and your shortages in your worship

Don’t spoil your Ramadan by blaming people

o Pardon people

Hadith if you pardon people, Allah will increase you in honor

o Don’t think that when you pardon people, they are taking advantage of

you

o Actually you are increasing in honor when you pardon people

o Pardoning people is a benefit for your own self

As-Samad

Surah Ikhlas #2 Allah is self-sufficient

o He doesn’t need anything

o No food or drinks

o No children or partners

o Nobody equal to Him

o Nobody extracted from Him!!!!

Samad – nothing enters or exits

Even if the entire humanity dispraises Allah , it will do nothing to Allah As-

Samad (no effect)

Human beings are not Samad! You get affected by people very quickly

o When someone praises you, you are affected

o When someone dispraises you, you are affected

When you know Allah As-Samad, you need to stand at the door of As-Samad!

o You need to be samad (standing firm) at the door of Allah

o Don’t go anywhere else

o Only As-Samad will always accept you and will never get bored from you

Saamid – to survive / standing firm

Al-Qahir, Al-Qahaar

The One who is irresistible

Never think that you can do anything independent from Allah Al-Qahaar

Qahr you don’t have any other choice – you have to do submit to what is

being done to you

Sometimes you are forced to do something, to be with some people

o This is Qahr Allah (even though you may not realize)

You cannot resist Allah

Surah Ad-Duha #9 don’t oppress or pressure an orphan

o This is the impact of this name

o Don’t be over powering over anyone

o Don’t oppress or force people

o You are not supposed to force people for religion, so what about worldly

things?!?!

Al-Qareeb

Allah is the most near to you

Surah Al-Baqarah #186

Allah is closer to you than anyone who is close to you

o He is closer to you than your husband

o He is closer to you than you children

You will benefit from Allah’s closeness

o Even though Allah is above in the 7 heavens, He is still the most close

to you

Train yourself to be close to Allah , He will never leave you

o Even when you are in your grave

o Even when you are going through the agony of death

o No one will ever understand what you are going through

o No one will ever appreciate your feeling

o When you talk to Allah , He will understand you even before you

speak to Him

The most closest place to Allah is in the Sujood

The most closest time to Allah is the last third of the night

The most closest situation to Allah is when you are fasting

Make yourself close to Allah

o When you come close to Allah a little bit, Allah will come to your

closer

When you invoke Allah , invoke and make dua with feelings

Hadith Prophet Muhammad said to Ayesha RA, be close to the Masakeen

(needy) and Allah will be close to you

o Nobody wants to be close to the needy people

o People want to be close to the people who have status and standing

o Don’t look down upon anyone

Closeness is for the sake of Allah

Al-Mujeeb

The One who responds to the invocation of the one who is invoking Allah

If you call upon Allah , Allah will respond to you

o The response of your Dua is with the Dua – not after it

Your dua is to someone who is near to you and to someone who always

responds!

At the time of your invocation, Allah is close to you and will respond to you

Al-Hakeem

Nothing is misplaced in the life

Everything that you go through is the wisdom of Allah

Sometimes things happen out of your expectations but it has its own wisdom

When you know Allah is the most Wise, then you ask Allah for wisdom

o The Quran teaches you wisdom

o The Ahadith teach you wisdom

Al-Maalik, Al-Malik, Al-Maleek

Allah owns everything and disposes the affairs of everything in His dominion

how He wants

He is the One who gives the Dominion

Don’t argue why so and so has this position and that position

Allah will give position and honor to whomever He wills

Don’t object, reject, argue in Allah’s dominion

ال مانع لما منعت

The King says to believe, you believe

The King commands, so you obey

o Who are you to question the king!!??!?

Allah is the King of the kings

Al-Hameed

Allah is the most praiseworthy in all aspects

Sometimes in some situation, you don’t know why something happened, but

you say ALHUMDULILLAH, because even though you don’t know, Allah

deserves all the praise

Allah is praiseworthy in everything command, legislation, decree, ayah, for

the month of Ramadan

Even when you do any worship, you say Alhumdulillah that Allah allowed

you to do this worship

Nothing is more beloved to Allah

When you recite Surah Fatiha and you say, الحمد هلل رب العالمين, then Allah says

my slave praises Me!

The best dua is Alhumdulillah and Allah loves

The best slave of Allah is the one who praises Allah all the time (الحمادون)

Al-Majeed

Allah is the most Majestic

No one can encompass the majesty of Allah

When you magnify Allah , Allah says My slave magnifies Me

Al-Awwal, Al-Aakhir

Al-Awwal there is no one before Allah

Allah is the initiator of everything! He is the first One

When you want to do something, you make dua that Allah You are the One

who can initiate the means for you so you can start doing the good deeds

Al-Aakhir no one is after Allah

Allah is the first and the last

o He comes before the means and He comes after the means

o He will initiate the means…

o Then He will give you the result of the means

o He will make the means worthy

Ad-Dhaahir, Al-Baatin

These names are 2 opposites together

Allah is the most apparent AND He is the most hidden

Allah will makes things visible and clear to you

Allah is hidden from the eyes of His creation

o Allah knows your inner most hidden things of you!!!

o Things that you don’t know about yourself either

As-Samee’, Al-Baseer

Allah hears and sees everything of the every creation at once

Allah hears your inner most thoughts, your duas, in any lagnauge, any time,

all at once

You are not able to hear 100% if more than one person speaks to you! But

Allah is all able

Allah sees you and He sees your heart, your actions

Allah will see in the dark night, on a black rock, a small back ant, in the

veins, the food running through!

Al-ihsan you do the best as though Allah sees

you

Al-Khaaliq, Al-Khallaq

Allah is the One who creates the means

Al-Awwal is the One who initiates the means

Here, Allah creates the means, make it to exist

You want to hasten to Allah (in Ramadan)

Allah created you and Allah created your means

When you know all these

names of Allah , you

will invoke Allah

Allah created the creation innocent – free from all faults

When you know this name, you want all your deeds to be bari’ (free from all

faults)

Al-Musawwir

Allah is the One who created the pictures

Al-Aleem, Al-Allaam

Both these names are based on the knowledge of Allah

No one can encompass the knowledge of Allah

Allah is the most knowledgeable

o His knowledge is the most perfect

o It was never preceded by ignorance

Allah knows about yourself – He knows what is in your heart

Allah is the One who teaches you the knowledge

As-Salaam

Allah is free from all faults & He is the giver of Peace

Allah is the source of salaam on the earth (salaam = peace)

Allah is the owner of peace

That’s why the religion of Allah is called Islam

o The religion of peace

The Muslim is the one who stops his hands and tongue from harming others,

so don’t harm or hurt people or animals

Jannah is Daar As-Salaam – the place of peace

o Place of Salaam means a place that is free from al problems and worries

Ar-Razzaq, Ar-Raaziq

Allah is the provider of anything you want in your life

He is providing for you and He is in charge of your provisions

Don’t ask anything from anyone – not even a smile!

Ask only Allah

The best provision is the righteous good deeds / faith / lawful money /

knowledge

Al-Akram

Allah is the most generous

Al-Lateef

Nobody can grasp but Allah grasps all visions

Allah is very subtle & gentle

Allah will not give you more than what you can take

He will not give you something till you are not ready for it

Be gentle and caring towards others feelings and Allah will be the same

towards you

As-Shakir, Ash-Shakoor

Allah will appreciate the little deeds that you do, and He will give you a great

reward in return

Allah will give you blessings and you thank Allah

And Allah will appreciate your gratitude

Appreciate the small things

When people do good to you, you need to appreciate them

o Whoever thanks the people, Allah appreciates them

When you live under this name, nothing in your life will go to waste. Everything

that you do, whether anyone sees or not, Allah will appreciate it for you. But

you need to appreciate what others do for you

Ar-Rauf

This name is more special than Raheem

Allah will give you mercy without any struggle

Allah will not give you any burden – He will not give you more than what you

can bear

So don’t burden yourself – don’t do more than what you are capable of

Al-Qawi

Allah is the source of all the strength

You get the strength from the means, but Allah is behind that strength

You need to be strong in your health and your determination to worship Allah

Means / objects by themselves will not give you any power or strength until

Allah allows for it to have strengthen / empower you

When you have power or determination for anything – don’t attribute it to

yourself

Always rely on Allah to give you power (not on yourself or anything else)

Al-Mateen

Intense in power and ability (strength)

This name is more than Rauf

Strength will not be separated from Allah

You need to hold the truth with strength – don’t let go of your religion

Al-Jabbaar

This name comes from the meaning of Dominator

Allah is the One who fixes any breaks

If your heart is broken, only Allah will fix it for you and give you the console

Al-Mo’min

Allah is the One to give the peace & the security

Inner security in your heart

You will live in security when you rely on Allah

To make you believe, Allah sends His signs to verify Himself to you

Al-Muhaymin

You need to make Allah Muhaymin in your life (your main concern)

o You should think about Allah all the time

Al-Wali, Al-Mawla

Allah is the One who is the most close to you

The opposite of Al-Wali is “enemy”

Shaitaan is your enemy and Allah is your wali

You want to be far away from the darkness of ignorance and disobedience this

Ramadan

Allah Al-Wali will give you the victory

Al-Mutakabbir

When humans have this attribute – it is dispraised and denotes arrogance

But for Allah , it is praised and it means to be above any faults and the

imperfections

له الكبرياء و العظمة

Because Allah is Mutakabbir, Allah will humiliate the humans who have

this attribute during their life

o Allah will bring the arrogant people down

o A person with an atom of arrogance will not enter Paradise

Allah is Mutakabbir because He is the most perfect

Al-Waasi’

Allah is the most vast - ان هللا واسع العليم

o Don’t think narrow, Be open minded

Religion is easy and vast

o Don’t make it difficult and tight

Think about the Sahaba who urinated in the Masjid! The other Sahaba were

getting angry and Prophet Muhammad told them to leave him and let him

finish his need…then Prophet Muhammad told the Bedouin nicely that this

is a place of worship and it’s not good to urinate there. So never under estimate

the mercy of Allah

There is no limitation with Allah

o No limitation for His forgiveness

o No limitation for His guidance

o No limitation for His Rizq

At-Tawwab

Allah will bring the thought of repentance in your heart

Allah will accept your repentance

Allah wants you to repent

Your repentance makes Allah happy!

Allah stretches His hands for the sinners in the morning and the night,

accepting the repentance of those who repent

o Allah will not mention your sins once He accepts your repentance

Al-Barr

This is different from the word “birr”

Birr = goodness / righteousness

o That goodness that you have inside

Allah Al-Barr is full of goodness and He is the One who will bring the goodness

to you

Everything around you and in the universe is from the goodness of Allah

Al-Qaabidd, Al-Baasit

Al-Qaabidd is the One who withholds

Al-Baasit is the One who stretches

Both these names are opposites

Allah will withhold the provision for someone and will stretch the provision

for others

Allah will withhold the souls at the time of death and He will stretch the

souls in the wombs

Allah will withhold and tighten your heart and He will also open and stretch

your heart

Allah may withhold something from one side, and stretch from something

else

So when you give, give for the sake of Allah

When you stop, stop for the sake of Allah

Al-Muqaddim, Al-Muakhir

Al-Muqaddim He is the one who brings things forward

Al-Muakhir He is the one who delays something

Allah may bring forth a provision and He may delay a provision

Allah may bring forth a decree and He may delay a decree

May Allah bring forward all the good deeds and all the good people to you

May Allah delay all the sins and the bad people from you

As-Shaheed

Allah is the One who is the witness for everything

The opposite of Shaheed is Gayab (not present)

Allah is witness over all your worship during the month of Ramadan

Allah is the witness over you when you are being oppressed by anyone

o That is enough for you that Allah is your witness!

Al-Quddoos

This name consists of 2 meanings

o Pure = طاهر

There is no harm, no faults

Its clean

Allah loves purity

If you prufiy yourself, it is half of your faith

Always keep your wudu valid, you will be in a state of purity all the

time

Keep your place pure and clean

Keep your heart pure and clean

o Blessed = مبارك

Allah will give you the blessings

In the month of Ramadan, Allah will give you all the blessings and the

purity

You should do تقديس هللا – ascribe purity to Allah

In Ramadan, you want Allah to bless your time, your worship, your food,

your family

Al-Kabeer

Allah is the most great

When you say Allahu Akbar when you start to pray, you remember that Allah

is the greatest above everything in your mind and heart

Al-Fattah

Allah is the Opener

He opens the provisions, the hearts…

He will open the gates of mercy for His slaves

You want Ramadan to be an opening for you

You want Paradise to be opened for you

o In Ramadan, Allah will make all the gates of Paradise open

o In Ramadan, Allah will close all the fates of Hell Fire

Whatever Allah wants, He will open

Al-Haseeb

From Hasaba

o Allah will account everything – small and big

o Don’t waste anything in your life because everything will be accounted

o Allah is quick in His accounts - أسرع الحساب

o Allah will account everyone at the same time

From Hasbu

o Allah is sufficient for you

Al-Haqq

Allah is the truth

o He is the truth

o He is saying the truth

o His Messengers are the truth

o His Promises are the truth

o His Paradise is the truth

o His Hell Fire is the truth

Haqq is higher than Sidq

The religion of Allah is the truth – it’s not false or fake

o The truth is very visible and apparent

o You cannot deny it

An-Naseer

Allah is the One who gives victory to whoever He wills

This is an excessive form of the word victory

Allah is the best one giving victory

Al-Waarith

Allah is the One who remains / the one who inherits

Everything and everyone will perish

Only Allah will remain so He is the inheritor

Allah will make you inherit the Aakhirah

Surah Al-Mo’minoon #10

You want to inherit good deeds

o The best inheritance is knowing about Allah

o The best inheritance is good deeds

This is the only inheritance that will not leave you

Every other inheritance (of this world) will leave you or you will leave it

o The wealth that you own is an inheritance for someone else

o What you own now is only yours for now

o It will be inherited by someone else

Al-Mubin

Allah is clear – visible over all His creation

Allah’s speech is clear (the Quran is clear)

Allah Al-Mubin, may He show me more clarity in life

o You don’t want to live a life that is not clear

اللهم ارنا الحق حق و ارزقنا التباع و ارنا الباطل باطل و ارزقنا الجتنابة

Al-Hayyi’

Allah is the most shy

Allah loves modesty

o Wearing modestly

o Speaking with modesty

o Living with modesty

This means to have shame – you do not want to disobey Allah

Allah feels shy to return the hands empty, of His slave who raises his hands

in dua

o Allah will never leave you without answering your duas

Ar-Rafeeq

Ar-Rafeeq means gentle / kindness

Allah is gentle in His commands

Allah loves it when you are gentle and kind with the people

Don’t be harsh

You want Allah to be Rafeeq on you, so be the same with others

As-Sit’teer

Allah is the One who will not expose you

He will keep your sins covered

“May Allah never expose us while we are on the earth, May Allah conceal

our sins while we are under the ground, …”

When people tell you, you are so good, don’t believe in that and tell yourself

that yes, I am so good; tell yourself that you are being covered by Allah

because you are As-Sit’teer

Allah covers you so don’t expose yourself

Sometimes you do sins, or your faults, people don’t notice it its because

Allah is As-Sit’teer

Al-Khabeer

Allah is all aware of what you and of the consequences

Al-Wakeel

Allah is the One whom you give full control of your life (don’t take worries)

You cannot rely on yourself

You cannot trust yourself

Any problems, concerns, worries rely on Allah (make Him your in charge)

In Ramadan, for your worship, rely on Allah

o You will not be worried or stressed

Allah will take care of you and you will not be worried

As-Sayyid

Allah is the One who has the Lordship (to be a Master)

Allah is the master from all aspects

You need to obey your Sayyid

You need to remember your Sayyid

You need to worship your Sayyid

Al-Muqeet

Muqeet comes from waqt

Allah is the one who creates all the times of the provisions

There is a time for everything and for every provision

Al-Mannaan

Allah is the One who gives all the favors

Allah has favors upon us

He has favors upon us because He created us, taught us His names, gave us

Ramadan, made us Muslims, will make us enter Paradise…

Allah is Al-Mannaan, He gives before you ask

Don’t remind anyone of the favors you do for anyone

o Because actually Allah favored you to do anything for yourself and for

others

As-Subbuh

You say this name while in Sujood

Allah is the One free from all negativity

All the creations of Allah (humans, animals, jinn) free Allah from all

faults

If bad thoughts come to your mind, you say SUBHANALLAH and free your

mind from any negativity

Ash-Shafee

Allah is the One who gives all kinds of cure

Allah cures all sickness

Allah doesn’t give sickness, He gives you the cure

Doctors don’t give you any cure they are just the means

Physical, mental, heart Allah cures your from all types of sicknesses

In Ramadan, you want to be healthy in your health, in your mind and in your

heart

You want everyone in your house to be cured

Allah is the owner of the cure, and He will put the knowledge of cure in the

hands of whom He wills

o When you go to the doctor, you make dua to Allah to give the

knowledge of the cure to him

o You ask Allah for the cure when you take any medicine

o You ask Allah for cure even when you drink water

Al-Mu’tee

Allah is the One who gives

When anyone gives you anything, in your heart you know that Allah is the

One who is giving you this, through the means

Your tongue can thank whoever is giving you, but the bestower is Allah

Al-Hafeed

Allah is the One who protects

Ayatul Kursi

You want protection from evil eyes, from sickness, from the Shaitaan

Allah protects you, your house, your children, etc

Allah protects your health, your deeds, your heart from deviation…

Allah protects everything that you love

Al-Witr

Allah is the Odd one – the ONLE ONE

There is no pair for him

Allah loves the witr pray that you do

Al-Muhsin

Allah is the One who is doing ihsan to you

Allah loves perfection

He created you perfect and He wants ihsan (perfection) from you

Live your Ramadan with ihsan

Pray, eat, sleep, drink, worship….all with ihsan

At-Tayyib

Allah is the most pure

Allah loves the pure things

He wants you to eat that is pure so your actions will be pure

You will think right

You will speak right

Allah will not accept deeds that are not pure

Ad-Dayyaan

Allah is the One who is giving the recompense

Allah will settle the scores between people on the Day of Judgment

Hadith on the Day of Judgment Allah will call out that He is the Malik

and Ad-Dayyaan. No one will enter Hell fire or Paradise till all the scores are

settled

Even between animals, before they become dust, Allah will settle everything

between them (which animal attacked who)

Don’t worry about your rights in the life

Don’t oppress other people because they will take from your deeds

Al-Jawaad

Allah is the One who the most generous

Al-Musa’ar

Allah is the One who gives the price

o When you go to the market there is a price

o Once, the Sahaba complained to Prophet , to ask the traders to lower

their prices, but Prophet said that Allah is A-Musa’ar (Allah is

the One who increases or decreases the prices

Hadith Allah is the one putting the prices

o So don’t complain about the pricing (in the market place)

It also means that Allah is the one who will make the fire more for the

disbelievers (it is the justice of Allah )

Al-Ilaah

Allah is the One who you pray and attach to

Al-Muheet

Allah is the One who surrounds / encompasses everything

You cannot escape / you cannot flee from Allah

Allah surrounds your thoughts

Allah surrounds everyone by His knowledge and ability

Ar-Raqeeb

Allah is the One who is watchful

He is not heedless or negligent about His creation
