Conformes aux exigences générales de la norme EN 420:2003 +classement de performances pour les caractéristiques mécaniquesd'aptitude à la fonction selon la norme EN 388:2003. Certains gantsfont l’objet d’une norme spécifique pour des applications particu-lières telles le froid (EN511:2006), la chaleur de contact jusqu’à100°C (EN 407:2004) et l’étanchéité (EN 374-2:2003).

Norme EN 12477:2001 + A1 :2005 - Exigences minimales de certifi-cation dans le cadre d'une protection suffisante (mains et poignets)pour le soudage et le découpage. Exposition de courte durée à uneflamme limitée, chaleur convective, de contact, rayonnement UV (arc,projection de métal fondu). Protection contre les agressions méca-niques. la norme facultative EN 1149-2 précise si le gant offre résis-tance minimale de 100V. Classement en deux grands types - Type A :gants de moins grande dextérité mais aux autres performances plusélevées - Type B : gant de plus grande dextérité mais aux autres per-formances plus faibles.

Les niveaux de perf. sont classés dans un ordre croissant, niveau 0étant le niveau le moins performant. Ces niveaux sont indiqués à côtédu pictogramme représentant la norme dans le même ordre.

Conform to the European standard EN 420:2003 + performance levelwhich shows how a glove has performed in a specific test for the me-chanical risks accordingly to the EN 388:2003, and by which the re-sults of that testing may be graded. Some gloves can also complywith specific applications like cold (EN511:2006), contact heat under100°C (407:2004) and water tightness (EN 374-2:2003).

Standard EN 12477 :2001 + A1 :2005 - Minimum certification requi-rements for an adequate protection (hands and wrists) for weldingand cutting; Exposure of short duration to a limited flame, convectiveand/ or contact heat, UV radiation (curve, melted metal projection);Protection against mechanical attacks; The optional EN 1149-2 stan-dard precise whether the glove provides the minimal resistance of100V. Two main types - Type A : glove with a lower dexterity level butwith other higher performances - Type B : glove with higher dexteritylevel but with other lower performances.

The performance levels are classed in a increasing order, level 0 beingthe less performing one. These levels are always indicated in thesame order next to the pictogram representing the standard.

Algunos guantes debende responder a una certificación específica para aplicaciones particu-lares como el frío (EN511:2006), le calor de contacto hasta 100°C(EN 407:2004) y la impermeabilidad (EN 374-2:2003).

Norma EN12477 :2001 + A1 :2005 - Exigencias minimales de certi-ficación en el marco de una protección suficiente (manos y muñeca)para la soldadura y el corte. Exposición de corto plazo a una llamalimitada, calor convectivo, de contacto, rayos UV (arco, proyeccionesde metal fundido). Protección contra las agresiones mecánicas. Lanorma facultativa EN 1149-2 especifica si el guante ofrece una re-sistencia mínima de 100V. Clasificación en dos grandes categorías -Categoría A : guantes de menor destreza pero con mayores capaci-dades - Categoría B : guante de mayor destreza pero con las demáscapacidades inferiores.

Los niveles de resultado están clasificados en un orden creciente,siendo el nivel 0 el de menor resultado. Estos niveles se indican al ladodel pictograma que representa la certificación, en el mismo orden.

A glove resistant to micro-organisms according to EN 374-2:2003 is a watertight glove which conforms to minimumlevel 2 of the penetration test. The resistance to penetra-tion of glove is measured according the ISO 2859 proce-dure which defines 3 Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL)• Level 3 must have an AQL on 0.65 • Level 2 must have an AQL on 1.5 • Level 1 must have an AQL on 4.0

REACH est le règlement européen surl'enregistrement, l'évaluation, l'autorisa-tion et les restrictions des substances chi-miques. Il est entré en vigueur le 1er juin2007. REACH rationalise et améliore l'an-cien cadre règlementaire de l'Union euro-péenne sur les produits chimiques.

Les principaux objectifs de REACH sont d'as-surer un niveau élevé de protection de lasanté humaine et l'environnement contreles risques que peuvent poser les produitschimiques, la promotion de méthodes d'es-sai alternatives, la libre circulation des subs-tances au sein du marché intérieur et derenforcer la compétitivité et l'innovation.

REACH fait porter à l'industrie la responsa-bilité d'évaluer et de gérer les risques poséspar les produits chimiques et de fournir desinformations de sécurité adéquates à leursutilisateurs. En parallèle, l'Union euro-péenne peut prendre des mesures supplé-mentaires concernant des substancesextrêmement dangereuses (SVHC), quandune action complémentaire au niveau eu-ropéen se révèle nécessaire.

En tant que premier importateur d’articles(au sens du règlement REACH), noussommes soumis aux exigences de l’article 33du règlement.

L’article 33 impose à tout fournisseur d’unarticle contenant une substance identifiéecomme substance extrêmement préoccu-pante (SVHC), avec une concentration dansl’article supérieur à 0.1% masse/masse, defournir au destinataire de l’article les infor-mations dont il dispose pour permettre l’uti-lisation dudit article en toute sécurité. De lamême manière, sur demande d’un consom-mateur, les informations doivent être trans-mises, gratuitement et sous un délai de 45jours.

Afin d’assurer l’application de ces exi-gences dans la durée, nous cherchons àengager nos fournisseurs dans une dé-marche garantissant la non-utilisationdes substances extrêmement préoccu-pante ou, à minima, à nous avertir deleurs présence dans nos produits et denous proposer une solution de remplace-ment.

Nous collaborons étroitement avec plu-sieurs laboratoires d’essais afin de contrô-ler dans nos produits l’absence de SVHC,malgré les engagements de nos fournis-seurs, pour contrôler plus strictement en-core la qualité de nos produits.

REACH is the European regulation on theregistration, evaluation, authorizationand restriction of chemical compounds. Itis in force since the 1st June 2007. REACHrationalizes and improves the former legalcontext of the European Union on the che-mical compounds.

The main purposes of REACH are to insurea high protection level for the humanhealth and for the environment against thehazards that can be caused by the chemicalproducts, the development of alternativemethods, the free compounds circulation ofthe compounds in the internal market andto reinforce the competitiveness and the in-novation.

REACH compels the industry to evaluateand manage hazards caused by their chemi-cal compounds and to supply safety, healthyand valid information at the users.In the same time, the European Union cantake additional measures concerning subs-tances of very high concern (SVHC), whenan additional action at the European levelis necessary.

As first importer of articles (according toREACH regulation), we have to be in confor-mity with article 33 of the regulation.

Article 33 imposes on each article's supplierwhich contains a substance identified asSVHC, with a concentration upper than0.1% weight/weight, to supply at the arti-cle's addressee the information he has toallow the use of the article safely.In the same way, on customer request, theinformation must be transferred, for freeand within a period of 45 days.

In order to insure the application of theserequirements, we intend to commit eachof our suppliers to work on a method toguaranty the no-use of SVHC or, at mini-mal, at least, will force them to warn usfor their presence in our products and topropose us a solution to replace them.

We closely collaborate with several labo-ratories, to control, in our products, theabsence of SVHC, in spite of our suppliercommitments, to control the absence ofSVHC in our products, in reinforcement ofour products.

REACH es el reglamento europeo que serefiere al registro, la evaluación, la autori-zación y las restricciones de substanciasquímicas. Entró en vigor el 1° de Junio del2007. REACH racionaliza y mejora el antigüocuadro reglamentario de la Unión Europeareferente a los productos químicos.

Los principales objetivos de REACH son ase-gurar un nivel elevado de protección de lasalud humana y del medio ambiente contralos riesgos que pueden plantear los produc-tos químicos, la promoción de los métodosde prueba alternativos, la libre circulaciónde las substancias en el mercado interior yreforzar la competitividad y la innovación.

REACH le hace llevar a la industria la res-ponsabilidad de evaluar y gestionar los ries-gos planteados por los productos químicosy proporcionar información de seguridadadecuadas a sus usuarios. En paralelo, laUnion Europea puede tomar medidas adi-cionales referentes a substancias extrema-damente peligrosas (SVHC) cuando unaacción complementaria a nivel europeo esnecesaria.

Al ser primer importador de productos(según el reglamento REACH), estamos so-metidos a las exigencias del artículo 33 delreglamento.

El artículo 33 le impone a cualquier provee-dor de producto que contenga una substan-cia identificada como substanciaextremadamente preocupante (SVHC) (conuna concentración en el producto superioral 0.1% ) proporcionarle al usuario del pro-ducto las informaciones para permitir la uti-lización de dicho producto con todaseguridad. De esta manera, a la demandadel consumidor, se pueden transmitir las in-formaciones de manera gratis, en un plazode 45 días.

L’ensemble des EPI vendus sur le mar-ché communautaire est soumis à la di-rective 89/686/CE qui détermine lesprocédures de bases à appliquerquand à la normalisation d’un équi-pement.La directive définit trois types d’EPI :> EPI de catégorie 1 : ces EPI, d’une

conception simple, sont destinés à protégerl’utilisateur contre des risques minimes, qui n’ont pas d’effet sursa santé, ou dont les effets seront facilement réversibles. Ces EPIfont l’objet d’une auto certification attestant qu’ils sontconformes aux exigences de conception basique de la directive: ERGONOMIE, CONFORT, INNOCUITE. Un EPI auto certifié estestampillé CE.> EPI de catégorie 2 : ces EPI sont destinés à protéger l’utilisa-

teur contre les risques intermédiaires. Ils sont soumis à un exa-men CE de type, et doivent disposer d’une attestationd’examen (rédigée par un laboratoire notifié, accrédité parl’UE) afin d’être mis à disposition sur le marché communau-taire. En vue d’obtenir ce certificat, l’EPI est soumis à des testsparticuliers, décrits dans les normes européennes, selon la ca-tégorie à laquelle il appartient.

> EPI de catégorie 3 : ces EPI sont destinés à protéger l’utilisa-teur contre des dangers mortels ou susceptibles de nuire gra-vement et de façon irréversible à la santé. Comme les EPI decatégorie 2, ils sont soumis à un examen CE de type et doiventdisposer d’une attestation rédigée par un organisme notifié.De plus, ces EPI sont soumis à un contrôle de la production.

Avant de commercialiser un gant, nous le soumettons naturel-lement à la procédure de certification adaptée à sa catégorie.Cet examen porte sur le dossier technique et sur les perfor-mances du modèle que nous fournissons à l’organisme notifiéde notre choix.

Selon le domaine d’application du gant, plusieurs normes peu-vent être envisagées pour la certification du modèle.

The whole range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)offered for sale on the European market is submitted to di-rective nbr 89/686/CE, which regulates the standardizationprocesses of an equipment.The directive defines 3 types of PPE:> Category 1: these PPE, of basic conception, are dedicated to

protect the user against negligible risks, which have either noeffects on his health or easily reversible effects. These PPE aresubjected to a self certification attesting that they comply withthe basic conception standards of the directive: ERGONOMICS,COMFORT, INNOCUOUSNESS. A self certified PPE is labeled‘EC’.

> Category 2: these PPE are dedicated to protect the useragainst intermediate risks. They are submitted to an EC typeexamination, and must get an examination certificate (draftedby a notified and EC accredited laboratory) in order to be dis-patched on the Community market. In order to obtain this cer-tificate, the PPE is submitted to specific tests, described inEuropean standards, according to the category it belongs to.

> Category 3: these PPE are dedicated to protect the useragainst mortal risks, or risks likely to be seriously harmful tohealth in an irreversible way. They are submitted to an EC typeexamination, and must get an examination certificate draftedby a notified laboratory. Moreover, the production of these PPEhas to be carefully controlled.

Before placing a glove on the market, we submit it at the certi-fication process which corresponds to his category of PPE. Thisexamination is based on the technical file and on performancesof the submitted model at the notified body we have chosen.

According to the main application field, several standards canbe used to certify the model.

On receipt of the certification or at the end of the auto certifi-cation process, we draw up a declaration of conformity whichguarantees our customers to buy a PPE able to obtain the sameperformance than the tested PPE.

> EPI de categoría 3 : estos EPI pretenden proteger al usuariocontra peligros mortales o susceptibles de dañar gravementey de manera irreversible su salud. Como los EPI de categoría 2,se someten a un examen CE de tipo y deben disponer de un ates-tado de examen CE redactado por un organismo notificado. Ade-más, estos EPI se someten a un control de la producción.

Antes de comercializar un guante, lo sometemos al proceso decertificación adaptado a su categoría. Este examen, se hacesobre el expediente técnico y sobre las características técnicasdel modelo que mandamos al organsimo notificado de nuestraelección.

Según el campo de aplicacion del guante, se puede pensar envarias normas para la certificación del modelo.
