The Yadkin Christian Ministries is sponsoring
“THE SOUPER BOWL of CARING”
THIS Sunday - February 5th
Last year, 37 churches from Yadkin County contributed $ 13,359.25 to the Yadkin Christian Ministries.
Through November 2011, the ministry gave away $ 289,675
in food, power, fuel, rent and water assistance including 18,502 bags of groceries.
They average helping 93 families a week.
Because the need is GREAT, the goals for this year’s campaign are
50 churches participating…$ 15,000 in offerings…1,500 food items
So pray about sharing at least
ONE DOLLAR & ONE CAN of SOUP
and be part of MORE than a FOOTBALL game!!
Our YOUTH will receive this special offering
immediately following our service,
so look for them holding a SOUP pan!!
MISSIONS RALLY…
Come join others around our region on Monday - February 13th at West
Yadkin Baptist Church - for a night of MISSION INSPIRATION as we
experience what God is doing through NC Baptists around the world. There
will be worship, testimony, video and information on upcoming mission
opportunities. A FREE meal is provided at 6:00 pm and the program will
begin at 7 pm. You must register for the meal by Wednesday (Feb 8th) by

BIBLICAL NUTRITION SUPPORT GROUP... On Tuesday - February 14th at 6:30 pm - the Biblical Nutrition Support Group will resume their support group meetings. It is designed for those who want to adopt a plant-based diet or want to incorporate more fruits & vegetables into their diet. You’re asked to please bring a dish to the pot luck meal that is 100% plant based, NO meat or diary products and preferably NO refined white flour or sugar in the recipe. Afterwards, Olin will lead a discussion focusing on Biblical principles (and scientific research) for nourishing the body God has entrusted to each of us based on Genesis 1:29!

Our youth will be sponsoring a BAKE SALE to help raise some funds for their summer camp. If you’d be willing to donate some
“baked goodies”, please plan on bringing your items to the church on Saturday - February 11th from 10 am till 12:30 pm.
Since this is a FUNDRAISER to help offset the cost of camp - Katrina is counting on our YOUTH to help on Saturday & Sunday.

NEED HELP FILING A SIMPLE TAX RETURN… The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is an IRS-sponsored program that provides free tax filing assistance to people who have simple federal and state tax returns and whose income is $ 50,000 or less. You can contact The Senior Center (Jonesville, Yadkinville or East Bend) and this year - Jack Blunk is coordinating these efforts through Yadkin Christian Ministries beginning THIS THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 2nd. EASTER CANTATA… Rich is looking for several within our congregation to perform short monologues of biblical characters during this year’s Easter cantata on Palm Sunday - April 1st at 11 am. NEW MEMBER’S CLASS…
We’re offering a “New Member’s Class” for any of our ADULTS who’ve joined our
church over the past 2 years or is interested in becoming a member. It will meet from
Feb 19th-March 18th in the Sanctuary at 9:45 am on Sunday mornings. This 5 week
course will cover some basic fundamentals of our faith & the value of church
membership...culminating with a “Spiritual Gift” discovery survey.

HELP US SPRUCE UP FOR SPRING... On February 17th (Friday) and February 18th (Saturday), we would like to spruce up
our buildings & grounds in preparation for all our special services this SPRING!! We
need folks to help us prune the shrubbery, weed the flower beds (at entrances, tear drops
and around the building & playground) You choose which day & time - working at your
pace.
This is a great time for our Sunday School teachers to do some “spring cleaning” in
their respective classrooms. If you need to store any items in either of our buildings -
please use plastic containers and make sure to place labels on each container.

JUST A REMINDER… Our Church Conference is the LAST Wednesday of THIS MONTH - February 29th at 7 pm. We’ll
celebrate all the Lord is doing in our midst for His Kingdom’s Glory! This is a great way to stay informed

“Courageous”, “Fireproof” and “Facing the Giants”
We’ll also enjoy hearing testimonies from a “Father & Son” who live in
Garner, North Carolina and were in the movie “Courageous.

HEALTH and HEALING for YADKIN COUNTY… Did you know that 24% of our neighbors have NO health insurance? A much-needed FREE healthcare ministry is starting soon in our county - HANDS of HOPE Medical Clinic. The mission and vision of the clinic is to provide quality healthcare and a medical home to the under-insured and those unable to obtain healthcare from any other source. With a team of medical professionals...church and community volunteers, the clinic will be OPEN to SERVE the residents of YADKIN COUNTY every Tuesday (beginning February 28th) for any adult or child - who needs medical services. They will register patients beginning at 5 pm until 6:30 pm with a maximum capacity of serving 25-30 patients each Tuesday. The clinic will be located at the Yadkinville Church of Christ (across from Yadkin Valley Community Hospital). How can YOU help? First - help get the word out about the clinic and pray for this new community ministry. Secondly - they need volunteers - both medical & non-medical (check-in patients, help out in waiting room, help clean facility after each operating day and be available to pray with or talk to the patients about a life with JESUS). Lastly - they need donations. They’ll need ongoing donations to help sustain this ministry. If you feel led to give - they will humbly accept your donation and gladly provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. Every dollar given goes directly toward patient care, because the clinic is operated by VOLUNTEERS and there are NO paid staff members. We will be hosting a preventive health screening in collaboration with Life Line Screening that could save your life. The screenings will be offered on Monday - March 26th and test for stroke risk, vascular disease and bone density.
