Il Master in Culture e Politiche Euro-Mediterranee nasce dalprogetto Open Sky Europe finanziato dalla CommissioneEuropea all’interno del programma “Euromed RegionalCommunication”. Il progetto era originariamente finalizzato avalorizzare processi comunicativi all’interno delle culturemediterranee, soprattutto giovanili. L’idea dello spazioeuromediterraneo ha visto un processo di crescita e dievoluzione.Tenendo presenti le modifiche istituzionaliintervenute, il Master ha l’intenzione di estendere eapprofondire gli spazi politici e culturali offerti dalle nuovedimensioni che si sono evidenziate.Lo sguardo che verrà riservato alle istituzioni sarà, quindi,profondamente legato alla storia e alle diverse mentalità che sisono in esse sedimentate. L’area mediterranea è una delledimensioni più interessanti del rapporto fra tradizione einnovazione. Il Master si articolerà quindi intorno a Storia eIstituzioni, aspetti Costituzionali, il profilo della Cittadinanza edell’Immigrazione, e i temi della sicurezza, giustizia e libertà.Esso ha come finalità quella di istituire un luogo di discussioneculturale comune fra Europa e mondi mediterranei.L’obbiettivo del Master è quello di creare competenzeriguardo politiche e diritti di cittadinanza universali nell’ambitodelle culture europee e mediterranee.Tali competenze sicollegano ai diversi ambiti istituzionali nei quali esse siarticolano. Le competenze che il Master individua e aiuta acreare, si svolgeranno in un dibattito culturale aperto all’ideadi una sfera pubblica mediterranea.

Master’s course in “Euro-MediterraneanCultures and Policies”

The Master’s course in Euro-Mediterranean Cultures and Policiestakes origin from the Open Sky Europe Project, project financed bythe European Commission within the context of the “EuromedRegional Communication” program.The project was originally aimedat improving communicative processes within Mediterraneancultures, above all where youth is concerned.The idea of the Euro-Mediterranean area has witnessed a process of growth andevolution. Bearing in mind the institutional modifications that havebeen effected, the Masters aims to extend and deepen the culturaland political areas offered by the new dimensions that have arisen.The viewpoint adopted regarding the institutions will therefore beclosely linked to the History and various mentalities in which theyare rooted.The Mediterranean area is one of the most interestingdimensions in the relationship between tradition and innovation.The Masters will therefore be organized around History andInstitutions, Constitutional aspects, the nature of Citizenship andImmigration, and the themes of security, justice and liberty. Its aimwill be to establish a common starting point for cultural discussionbetween Europe and the Mediterranean world.The objective of theMasters is to create expertise regarding Policies and universalrights of citizenship in the context of European and Mediterraneancultures. Such skills are linked to the various institutionalenvironments in which they are divided up.The skills which theMasters pinpoints and tries to create are carried out in a culturaldebate open to the idea of a Mediterranean public sphere.

Articolazione didattica

Il master ha la durata di un anno accademico per complessivi60 CFU articolati in video-lezioni, seminari, esercitazioni,conferenze, tutorship, attività di ricerca, stage. Il Master èarticolato in quattro moduli trimestrali.I primi due moduli sono volti a dare una formazione generaleed interdisciplinare sui vari aspetti del processo di unificazioneeuropea. Il terzo modulo è volto a dare competenze nelsettore “Diritti fondamentali”,“Immigrazione” e “Giustizia eSicurezza”. Il modulo finale è volto a dare agli studenti glistrumenti teorico-pratici per poter comprendere i processi diinterazione politica tra differenti attori.Ogni modulo prevede un coordinatore, un docente video edun docente tutor per ciascun insegnamento. Per ognuno deiquattro moduli che compongono il curriculum del Mastersono previste delle verifiche didattiche sui contenuti appresi.Al termine del Master verranno garantiti agli studenti stage edesperienze in enti di rilievo internazionale.Per conseguire il titolo del master, che sarà rilasciatodall’Università Telematica Internazione UNINETTUNO, ènecessaria la preparazione di una tesi finale su un argomentoconcordato con il Comitato scientifico del Master.

The Masters lasts one academic year corresponding for an overalltotal of 60 ECTS credits organized into video-lessons, seminars,exercises, conferences, tutoring, research activities, internships.TheMasters is divided into four three-month modules;The first twomodules aim to give a general and interdisciplinary training on thevarious aspects of the process of European unification. Module III isaimed at providing expertise in the sector of “Basic Rights”,“Immigration” and “Justice and Security”.The finale module is toprovide students with the theoretical-practical instruments to enablethem to understand the processes of policy interaction between thedifferent participants. Every module provides for a coordinator, aVideo Professor and a Professor-Tutor for each subject taught. Forevery four modules which make up the Masters curriculum thereare also provisions for didactic checks on the contents learnt.At the end of the Masters students are guaranteed internships andwork experience in bodies of international standing. In order toobtain the Master’s qualification, which will be conferred by theInternational Telematic University UNINETTUNO, it is necessary thepreparation of final thesis on a subject agreed on with the Master’scourse Scientific Committee.

Finalità

La finalità del Master a distanza in «Culture e Politiche Euro-Mediterranee» è di formare competenze operative sul pianodella realtà europea anche in rapporto ai paesi delmediterraneo. La trasmissione degli strumenti cognitivinecessari a tale scopo sarà effettuata attraverso una didattica“inter-nazionale” e interdisciplinare, in quattro lingue: arabo,francese, inglese e italiano.Il carattere “inter-nazionale” dell’insegnamento, rappresentataanche dal corpo docente, risponde alla volontà di fornire aglistudenti una competenza idonea alla dimensionesoprannazionale dei problemi.L’interdisciplinarietà del programma di studio deriva dallaconsapevolezza dei forti legami che uniscono la storiadell’integrazione europea, il funzionamento delle diverseistituzioni dell’Unione Europea (e il modo in cui con esseinteragiscono le istituzioni nazionali, europee e euro-mediterranee), l’elaborazione del diritto comunitario e le suericadute a livello nazionale ed internazionale. Gli studentiavranno quindi l’opportunità di approfondire le lorocompetenze nel campo degli studi europei (Storia, Economia,Diritto e Scienze politico-sociali), di acquisire la conoscenzadei vari pilastri su cui si fonda l’Unione Europea, di analizzarele interazioni politiche, economiche, culturali e sociali tral’Unione Europea e i Paesi Euro-Mediterranei, dal punto divistadelle relazioni umane e della tutela dei beni comuni.

Aims

The aim of the distance-learning Master in «Euro-MediterraneanCulture and Policies» is to train for operating skills as regards theEuropean situation also in relation to the Mediterranean countries.Transmission of the cognitive instruments necessary to such an endwill be carried out through an “international” and interdisciplinarydidactic method, in four languages, Arabic, French, English andItalian.The “inter-national” nature of the teaching, represented alsoby the teaching body, matches the desire to supply the studentswith suitable skills for the supernational dimension of the problemsposed; the inter-disciplinary nature of the study program derivesfrom awareness of the strong ties that link the History of Europeanintegration, the functioning of the various institutions of theEuropean Union (and the way in which national, European e Euro-Mediterranean institutions interact with them), the drawing up ofcommunity law and its impacts at national and international level.Students therefore have the chance to develop their expertise inthe field of European studies (History, Economics, Law and thepolitico-social Sciences), to acquire knowledge about the variouspillars on which the European Union is founded, to analyze thepolitical, economic, cultural e social interactions between theEuropean Union and the Euro- Mediterranean countries from theviewpoint of Human relations and the protection of the culturalheritage.
