Asking to Give Christ’s Object Lessons
The word which ye hear," He said, "is not Mine, but the Father's which sent Me." John 14:24… Not for Himself, but for others, He lived and thought and prayed. From hours spent with God He came forth morning by morning, to bring the light of heaven to men.
Asking to Give Christ’s Object Lessons
Daily He received a fresh bap[sm of the Holy Spirit. In the early hours of the new day the Lord awakened Him from His slumbers, and His soul and His lips were anointed with grace, that He might impart to others.

Asking to Give Christ’s Object Lessons
His words were given Him fresh from the heavenly courts, words that He might speak in season to the weary and oppressed. "The Lord God hath given Me," He said, "the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary:
Asking to Give Christ’s Object Lessons
He wakeneth morning by morning, He wakeneth Mine ear to hear as the learned." Isaiah 50:4. COL 139.1
Asking to Give Christ’s Object Lessons
Christ's disciples were much impressed by His prayers and by His habit of communion with God. One day amer a short absence from their Lord, they found Him absorbed in supplica[on. Seeming unconscious of their presence, He con[nued praying aloud.

Why?
Rediscovering the Greatest Human Strength; WILLPOWER, Roy F. Baumeister & John Tierney p. 170
“But amer looking at the data, we have no trouble believing that there’s some kind of power working…”
The Power of Prayer
Why it works? – Prayer • Prayer increases self control (will power). • Brain areas -‐ for self-‐regula[on and control of aaen[on light up.
• People who are subliminally exposed to religious words like God or Bible become slower to recognize words associated with tempta[ons like drugs or premarital sex.
• Prayers and medita[on are “a kind of an aerobic workout for self-‐control.”

“…I (Eric Clapton) asked for help, and, gerng down on my knees, I surrendered.” Since that moment, he says, he has never seriously considered taking another drink… That night … Clapton was suddenly blessed with self-‐control.”

The Power of Medita[on
Meditate day and night "Just three hours of medita*on prac*ce led to improved aMen*on and self-‐control.” “ANer eleven hours, researchers could see those changes in the brain. The new meditators had increased neural connec*ons between regions of the brain important for staying focused, ignoring distrac[ons, and controlling impulses.” "Medita[on increases blood flow to the prefrontal cortex."

Meditate day and night "When you ask the brain to meditate, it gets beMer… at a wide range of self-‐control skills, including aaen[on, focus, stress management, impulse control, and self awareness.” "Regular meditators have more gray maMer in the prefrontal cortex, and well as regions of the brain that support self-‐awareness."

“The prac[cal results of communion with God… -‐ “Peace in the heart will shine forth in the countenance…”
-‐ “It will give to the voice a persuasive power.”
-‐ It “will ennoble the character and the life.”
-‐ It will impart “a power that nothing else can give.” MH 512
Psalm 1 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor siMeth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalm 1
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congrega[on of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Enfeebled and defective as it may appear, the church is the one object upon which God bestows in a special sense His supreme regard. It is the theater of His grace, in which He delights to reveal His power to transform hearts. AA 12

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels (Heb. 1:14) of God:
