It was a fine day and the sun was smiling fiercely. He was pointing each of his rays to every pore of the skins that were present in there. Some people are sure to be in beaches enjoying the heat. Some, may be, are in their rooms savoring the bliss of over sleeping. Its a weekend. A time to rest after a days work. A chance to be lazy. But Social and Behavioral Sciences Department proved that theres more than these. Early in the morning of February 24, 2012, we headed to Brgy Punta Taytay with the purpose of helping in saving the world even in our own little way. It was so hot and I was thinking to myself, This is not Vitamin D anymore. Some seek refuge on the shades generously shared by the trees. Oh, the wonder of nature. It always offers a solution.

Mangrove growing because it should not stop only in planting but to make these trees grow. Mangrove came from a Portuguese word mangue. There are at least 12 families and 70 species of mangroves. They are all halophytic or salt tolerant species of tropical trees and shrubs. In this activity, there were 1000 propagules of Rhizophora mucronata or Bakhaw Babayi. The method that was used was he quadrant method wherein there should be a distance of two meters from each propagule.
