The Venice Expo Committee is an association established in August 4, 2009 by Institutional components of the Venetian area forthe participation of Venice in the ShanghaiExpo 2010 and Milan Expo 2015. The Venice Expo Committee supported by local authorities, institutions, universities, associations of categories and companies,has promoted the participation of the local Venetian system and Venetian firms at Shanghai Expo 2010, aiming to deepenthe knowledge of the Chinese market and promote the potential of the Venetian territory, reinforcing the image of Veniceand its reference area as a dynamic centerof international character.The Venice Expo Committee even afterthe closing of Expo Shanghai, continuesto maintain and develop institutional relations with China.To support and promote these activitiesthe City Government has set up a special China Desk with the task of preparing and reporting activities and representation, development of cultural and economic relations, targeted projects of tourist report.
威尼斯世博会组委会，是威尼斯参加2010年上海世博会及2015年年米兰世博会之际，由威尼斯地区各公共机构于2009年8月4日正式成立的组织。威尼斯世博会组委会得到了地方当局、机构、大学、协会和企业的支持，推动威尼斯地方体系和威尼托企业参与2010年上海世博会，以加深对中国市场的认识，发挥威尼托地区的潜力，加强威尼斯及相关地区作为国际加强威尼斯及相关地区作为国际性的活力中心的形象。在上海世博会闭幕之后，威尼斯世博会组委会继续保持和发展与中国各机构的友好关系为了支持和推动这些活动，本市专门建立了中国信息中心发展文化和经济关系，开展针对旅游关系的项目。
In the years after the inaugurationof Shanghai World Expo the Venice Expo Committee has seen increasing contactsand relationships with the Chinese business world. In these years many delegations were received in Venice from China's richest provinces, concerned about how our city, much loved by the Chinese people, has faced and solved various problems such as transport, tourist flows, welfare etc.For its part, the Committee was repeatedlya guest at fairs and meetings in China to cement the friendship that binds our two worlds, even in the name of Marco Polo in Venice were arranged cultural and artistic events to acquaint the millennial Chinese culture in Italy.

The Association was established in Venice, March 21, 1911, under the name of Venetian Yacht Club, and after in 1919 changed in “Compagnia della Vela”, as called for by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio.His associates have given rise to intense sporting activity on the seas around the world. The social boat Dux, 12 ft international tonnage, has won some of the most prestigious regattas in deep-sea from 1929 to1939, including the scope “trophy of the king of Spain”. After the war the ship"Fallen Wind " of the partner Artù Chiggiato, crossed the South Atlantic to Rio de Janeiro.In 1965 the partner Alex Carozzo with his "Golden Lion", makes the Atlantic crossing from Japan to San Francisco. In 1992 the CdV participates in the America's Cup withthe Moro di Venezia, that won the Luis Vuitton Cup qualifying to the final. In 2005 Jesoloand in 2011 the CdV Sideracordis conquerthe world record in the category.In the foreground is also the youth sport activity on dinghies, which today sees the Club's athletes committed at the highest national and international levels.In recognition of its activity the Compagnia della Vela was rewarded in 1990 withthe "Silver Star" sports merit; in 1995 with the "Gold Star", and in 2011 the maximum award for a sports club received by C.O.N.I.the Golden collar from the hands of the President of the Republic.

The Montecchia Golf Club was founded in1988 by a group of businessmen from Padua, with the idea of creating an oasis of peace and tranquillity right outside the city. The Clubis indeed located just minutes from the centre of Padua, and can be easily reached from multiple motorway routes (Venice, Bologna and Milan) as it is located near thecity’s orbital motorway. Built on a pieceof land that was once the property of the Emo Capodilista Counts, the Club is adjacentto a medieval castle as well as a splendid Renaissance villa, still owned by that noble family. The clubhouse is in a building which once housed a tobacco-drying facility, cleverly renovated to offer standard reception services in addition to two restaurants (Michelin stars), a snack bar and meeting rooms.The course was the site of the 2001 and 2002 Challenge Tour as well as the 2010 and 2012 Alps Tour, which marked the openingof the Club to a national and international market.

VdV S.r.l. was established in 2003 to plan,set up and manage recreational boating facilities and services in the Venetian Lagoon. In 2004 VdV settled up a Yachting Centrein Certosa Island with the most important marina of Venice, Vento di Venezia Yachting Center, a multi functional base for yachting activities, the aim was revitalize the abandoned island and open it to the public, through the establishment of economic activities and services for residentsand tourists. The yachting center includes mooring facilities, a boatyard for the constructionand maintenance of traditional Venetian craft, training activities for water sports, a sailing school and an hotel with bar and restaurant. In order to pursue its mission of regenerating the entire Certosa Island, VdV planneda project to renovate the ancient buildingsof the Island and the open areas, and proposed to the city of Venice a public-private partnership that won the tender for managing the entire area during the next fifty years. In 2012 VdV obtained from the city of Venice the “permission to build” the Urban Parkas well as the contract for managing the island for the next 50 years. Since some months are currently in progress the first interventions to start with the plan and solve the soil pollution left by the former military industry.
