MEHITS INTRO
Negli ultimi anni la percezione
del ruolo sociale dei musei, e più
in generale dei luoghi dell’arte, è
profondamente cambiata.
territorio.
Per avere conferma di questo importante
cambiamento e del rinato interesse verso il
patrimonio culturale basta osservare i numeri
Conseguentemente all’aumento dei visitatori
sono cresciute le superfici espositive delle
strutture esistenti, spesso interessate da
vere e proprie opere di ristrutturazione, e,
parallelamente, sono nati nuovi edifici dedicati
all’arte: musei, teatri, auditorium, centri
espositivi e polifunzionali.
nostro inestimabile patrimonio culturale.
I LUOGHI DELL’ARTE
DID YOU KNOW?
In recent years the perception of the
social role of museums, and more
generally of theatres and art centers,
has profoundly changed.
From a closed and self-referential space,
the museum has today become an open
institution, a cultural operator, at the service
of the public, active in the dissemination of
scientific, historical, and artistic knowledge.
These places of art are therefore no longer
considered only buildings where “culture is
preserved”, but real points of reference for a
community, unique custodians of the history
and traditions of a country. To confirm this
important change and the renewed interest
in cultural heritage, just look at the numbers
for 2017, a record year for Italian museums,
with over 50 million visitors.
As a result of the increase in visitors, the
exhibition areas of the existing structures
have grown, often affected by real
renovations, and new buildings dedicated
to art have also been created: museums,
theaters, auditoriums, exhibition, and
multi-purpose centers. In these cases,
it is necessary to equip these structures
with air conditioning systems that on one
hand, can guarantee the wellbeing of the
numerous visitors throughout the year,
and on the other, guarantee the precise
conservation of the exhibited art, while
providing the building with a reduction
of energy consumption and therefore of
management costs. With over 50 years of activity
in the air conditioning sector through its brands,
Climaveneta and RC, MEHITS has always been able
to offer efficient, silent, and reliable solutions, able
to guarantee visitors the maximum wellbeing in all
seasons and atmospheric conditions, at the same
time, ensuring correct humidity conditions needed
for precise conservation of our priceless cultural
heritage.
MUSEUMS, THEATRES, AND ART CENTERS
arti in Italia.
In
Italian museums and cultural sites have been experiencing renewed
vitality for the last couple of years. The country’s latest museum
attendance figures surpassed its goal of 50 million visitors in 2017,
with admissions fees ringing in over 200 million euro. Why then are so
few students choosing to study the arts? From 552 thousand students
entering high school this September only 4.3% chose Artistic High
School.
This is not however the only factor that could potentially threaten the
future of the arts in Italy. The European Union’s Ecodesign Working Plan
2016-2019, proposes replacing the EU regulation 1194/2012. In layman’s
terms this means the EU is planning to phase out tungsten bulbs and
replace them with more-efficient alternatives. The initiative is commendable,
but it would mean huge numbers of lighting equipment used in theatre
productions would have to be thrown out, and there is currently no viable
alternative.
The air conditioning sector has also been affected by the Working Plan,
specifically by EU Directive 2009/125/EC and its subsequent regulations:
813/2013, 1095/2015, and 2281/2016, which set minimum energy efficiency
requirements for Chillers, Heat Pumps, and Rooftop units. While this
directive and its regulations only pertain to units manufactured and sold
in the EU, MEHITS, in line with its guiding principles, has decided to apply
these new regulations to all its units worldwide.

MEHITS SPEECHES
Mentre l’economia mondiale
è in modesta ripresa,
l’innovazione tecnologica,
soprattutto l’loT (Internet of
Things) e l’Al (Intelligenza
Artificiale) avanzano
rapidamente, e, al contempo,
i rischi geopolitici e le
politiche protezionistiche
Come presidente,
impegnarci fattivamente in questi obiettivi.
Stato dell’arte del gruppo Mitsubishi
Electric
Puntiamo a rafforzare i nostri valori aziendali
e a raggiungere una crescita sostenuta
attraverso un business equilibrato basato su
tre elementi chiave: “crescita”, “redditività ed
efficienza” e “salute in azienda”. Abbiamo
adottato degli obiettivi di crescita di almeno
5 trilioni di Yen (4500 miliardi di Euro) nei
ricavi netti consolidati e un utile operativo in
crescita dell’8% o più entro il 2021. Per lo
stesso anno puntiamo ad ottenere un indice
di redditività del capitale netto (ROE) del 10%
e un indebitamento del 15% o minore. Grazie
alle azioni che abbiamo già intrapreso,
abbiamo ottenuto vendite nette e un reddito
operativo record per l’anno fiscale appena
concluso. Ma questo non sarà abbastanza.
Andando avanti, dobbiamo iniziare a cogliere
ancora maggiori benefici dagli investimenti
crescita sostenuta.
Politiche di gestione di base
Mitsubishi Electric celebrerà nell’anno
fiscale 2021 il suo 100 ° anniversario. Mentre
riflettiamo sul secolo passato, dobbiamo
iniziare anche a tracciare un percorso per
il futuro, vorrei quindi cominciare a parlare
delle politiche di base che ci guideranno
d’ora in avanti.
nostri tre principi:
Responsabilità aziendale nei confronti
della società, Integrità e Correttezza, e
Conoscenza Globale attraverso il Business.
Questi principi fondamentali fanno
parte del nostro DNA oggi come allora.
Responsabilità aziendale verso la società
significa che la nostra azienda lavora per
rendere la società sia materialmente che
spiritualmente prospera, aiutando anche
a preservare l’ambiente che ci circonda.
Integrità e correttezza si riferiscono a un
comportamento giusto, corretto e dignitoso,
ad un atteggiamento aperto e trasparente.
Infine, Conoscenza Globale attraverso
il Business significa che sviluppiamo il
nostro business da una prospettiva che
abbraccia il mondo intero e perfino lo
spazio. Osservare i tre principi significa
adempiere alla nostra missione aziendale
(“Il Gruppo Mitsubishi Electric si impegna
a migliorare continuamente le proprie
tecnologie e i servizi offerti, applicando
Crescita). Con questi sforzi, noi adempiamo
alla nostra responsabilità sociale d’impresa.
Continueremo inoltre a seguire la nostra
politica di business equilibrato, che ha
supportato una crescita sana del Gruppo
Mitsubishi Electric dall’anno fiscale 2002
in avanti. Puntiamo a essere una “Società
globale leader a livello mondiale” che aiuti
a risolvere problemi ambientali, energetici
e altri ancora offrendo prodotti, sistemi e
servizi utili e contribuendo alla prosperità, alla
sicurezza, e al comfort generali.
Questi stessi sforzi contribuiscono anche
alla crescita continuativa nel tempo e
all’aumento di valore interno del Gruppo
e ci consentiranno di contribuire al
raggiungimento degli Obiettivi di sviluppo
sostenibile globale (SDGs) delle Nazioni
Unite. Detto ciò, diamo ora un’occhiata
a ciò che deve essere invece cambiato,
concentrandoci su due riforme strategiche.
La prima indica che per accelerare il
nostro processo di cambiamento, in
particolare in termini di tecnologia, è
necessario valutare costantemente tutti i
nostri modelli di business. Nemmeno le
attività più solide fanno eccezione. D’ora
e altri ancora.
meravigliosi collaboratori senior, colleghi e
“Jinshin no lsshin”, che in pratica significa
“superare la difficoltà con sincerità”. Queste
parole ricordano l’importanza della sincerità
nel proprio lavoro.
Personalmente ho sempre cercato
rafforzare ulteriormente. Nel mio nuovo
incarico darò tutto ciò che ho imparato sullo
spirito del “Changes for the Better” e, con il
Vostro aiuto, lavorerò per migliorare la qualità
della vita nella società.
Per favore, aiutatemi a creare una Mitsubishi
Electric Group ancora più forte!
Messaggio dal Chairman
Masaki Sakuyama
in crescita dell’8%. Dobbiamo ancora
dove tutti, indipendentemente dallo stadio
So che siamo andati avanti in tutte queste
tagline aziendale “Changes for the better”.
Takeshi Sugiyama ha il mio pieno
sostegno.

MEHITS SPEECHES
While the world economy is
generally recovering at a modest
rate, technological innovation,
especially loT and Al, is advancing
rapidly and both geopolitical
risks and protectionist policies
are threatening to force free trade
into retreat. As such, the future
remains unpredictable.
Amid this situation, I have assumed former
President Masaki Sakuyama’s mission of
pursuing higher-level growth and satisfaction
for society, customers, shareholders
and employees by daring to change. As
president, I am determined to harness our
collective power so that our entire Group can
address these heavy responsibilities with a
sense of urgency.
State of the Mitsubishi Electric Group
We aim to enhance our corporate value,
strengthen our base and achieve sustained
growth through balanced business based
on three keys: “growth,” “profitability and
efficiency,” and “corporate health.” We
have adopted the growth targets of ¥5.0
trillion or more in consolidated net sales
and an operating income ratio of 8% or
more by fiscal 2021. In the same year we
are targeting return on equity (ROE) of at
least 10% and ratio of interest-bearing debt
to total assets of 15% or less. Based on
actions that we have already taken, we are
projecting record net sales and operating
income in our just-ended fiscal year. But this
will not be enough. Going forward, we must
begin reaping even greater benefits from
our investments in recent years to achieve
our fiscal 2021 targets and sustained growth
thereafter.
Basic Management Policies
Mitsubishi Electric will celebrate its 100th
anniversary in fiscal 2021. While we reflect
on our past century, we must also begin
forging a new path into our second century,
so I would like to discuss the basic policies
that will guide us forward. First, there
are certain things that must not change,
including observing our Three Principles and
pursuing balanced business.
In the 1930s, Koyata Iwasaki, the fourth
president of the Mitsubishi Group, formulated
our Three Principles:
Corporate Responsibility to Society, Integrity
and Fairness, and Global Understanding
through Business.
These critical principles are as much a part
of our DNA today as they were back then.
Corporate Responsibility to Society means
that our business works to make society
both materially and spiritually prosperous,
and also helps to preserve our irreplaceable
global environment. Integrity and Fairness
refers to just, upright and dignified behavior,
and being open and transparent. Finally,
Global Understanding through Business
means that we develop our business from
a perspective that encompasses the entire
globe and even outer space. Observing
the Three Principles means fulfilling
our corporate mission (“The Mitsubishi
Electric Group will continually improve its
technologies and services by applying
creativity to all aspects of its business. By
doing so, we enhance the quality of life in our
society.”) and our Seven Guiding Principles
(Trust, Quality, Technology, Citizenship,
Ethics and Compliance, Environment, and
Growth). Through these efforts, we fulfill our
corporate social responsibility. We will also
continue to follow our policy of balanced
business, which has supported the healthy
growth of the Mitsubishi Electric Group
since the fiscal 2002 year. We aim to be a
“global, leading green company” that helps
to solve environmental, resource, energy
and other problems by offering useful
products, systems and services and also by
contributing to prosperity as well as safety,
security and comfort. These same efforts
also contribute to the sustained growth and
increased value of our entire Group, and
they will enable us to contribute to the global
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of
the United Nations. Next, let’s look at what
must be changed, focusing on two strategic
reforms. The first is business reform. In view
of accelerating change in global society,
particularly in terms of technology, we must
constantly evaluate our business models.
Even our strongest businesses are no
exception. Going forward, I will be working
with many of you to further strengthen our
existing businesses, especially those that
drive growth. Current initiatives, leveraging
business and technology synergies,
include building smart factories, net-Zero
Energy Buildings (ZEB), systems for self-
driving vehicles, and others. My goal now,
however, is to accelerate such efforts by
strengthening our ICT capabilities, and I
also aim to establish new growth drivers by
pursuing cross-organizational initiatives and
collaborations with external partners. The
other strategic reform is work reform, but not
just in terms of reduced work time but also
to raise the quality of our work. I envision a
corporate culture that values individuals like
never before, so that each of our roughly
150,000 employees will achieve greater
personal growth and work with greater
energy and vision.
My Business Philosophy
In my career I have spent much time working
in the fields of consumer electronics, mobile
phones and automobile equipment, as well
as in human resources and as the president
of an overseas subsidiary. Over the years,
I’ve worked with many wonderful senior
personnel, colleagues and juniors, many of
whom have become my friends.
Experience has taught me that when working
to raise performance, improve quality or
lower costs, the key is always to identify the
core issue. In addition, I have learned that
the most important part of everyone’s job is
the establishment of trust, which we can do
by working with passion and always giving
our very best effort.
The most important mission
I’ve been given is to ensure
that we remain a trusted group
of companies that satisfies its
global customers.
My favorite motto is from Caigentan, a
Chinese book about human conduct and
philosophy. The motto in Japanese is
Jinshin no lsshin, which basically means
“overcome difficulty with sincerity.”
These words remind me of the
importance of bringing sincerity to one’s
job, so I have always tried to remain
positive in my work, especially in times
of difficulty.
The motto has helped me to overcome
my greatest challenges, and now I want to
nurture new generations by helping them
to work with greater sincerity, passion and
positive thinking.
I deeply value the trusting relationships
with society, customers, shareholders
and employees that Chairman Masaki
Sakuyama and others before me helped
to establish, and which I will attempt to
strengthen even further. I will give this job
everything I have in the spirit of “Changes
for the Better” and, together with your
help, work to enhance the quality of life in
society.
Please join me in making the Mitsubishi
Electric Group even stronger!

Message from Chairman
Masaki Sakuyama
Upon assuming the post of President
and CEO in 2014, I set growth targets for
consolidated net sales of ¥5.0 trillion or
more and an operating income ratio of
8% or more by the fiscal 2021 year. The
year the Mitsubishi Electric Group will
celebrate its 100th anniversary. We have yet
to achieve these goals, but beginning this
fiscal year we expect capital-investment
and product-development measures that
we launched to spur new growth to begin
showing results.
This year we will also pursue measures
targeting our future beyond the fiscal 2021
year. We have worked to strengthen safety,
quality, ethics and legal compliance,
all fundamental aspects of our Group,
and to create a culture that encourages
initiative without fear of failure. We have
also promoted work-style reforms to create
workplaces where everyone, no matter
what career stage they are in, is strongly
motivated to perform to the best of their
potential. In addition, we have focused on
creating new value by creating synergies
between products of different business
groups and connecting them through loT
technology, which we believe will help
ensure our sustainable, long-term growth. I
feel we have steadily moved forward in our
initiatives owing to your efforts.
And so, having come to the conclusion
that measures needed to proceed to our
next stage should be guided by a new
leader, I have decided to step down and
welcome a new president. I have great
hopes that our new president will exercise
strong leadership to initiate necessary
changes and will further enhance our
Group’s corporate value in keeping with
our corporate tagline “Changes for the
Better.” He has my full support.

FOCUS ON BUSINESS UNITS
Il 2018 rappresenta per noi di
MEHITS l’anno della nuova
organizzazione per Business
Units e Segmenti di Mercato
e segna a tutti gli effetti
l’ingresso della nostra Azienda
nel mondo MELCO. Ora
partecipiamo infatti attivamente
agli appuntamenti istituzionali
del Gruppo presentando i
nostri prodotti, promuovendo
le soluzioni da noi sviluppate,
ma anche imparando i tempi e
i modi per rendere il business
efficace per tutti. Non è una
sfida facile, ma è senz’altro alla
nostra portata.
davanti a noi. Non da meno è il lavoro dei
“vecchi” che spesso si trovano ad occupare
un ruolo diverso da quello dal recente
passato, dimostrando flessibilità, resilienza
ed un grande attaccamento all’azienda
per cui lavorano ormai da anni. Io stesso
l’approccio positivo saranno fondamentali
nelle sfide quotidiane.
Ringrazio di cuore tutti i colleghi per
impegnarsi in questo!
Il supporto continuo delle funzioni centrali
(Chief Technology Office, Industrial
Operations, Human Resources, Planning
recriminazioni inutili.
attraverso quel “Changes for the Better”
CHILLER & HEAT PUMPS BUSINESS UNIT by Marco Vialetto
For us in MEHITS, 2018
represents the year of the new
organization for Business Units
and Market Segments and in
all intents and purposes marks
the entry of our Company into
the MELCO world. In fact, now
we are actively participating in
the Group’s institutional events
by presenting our products,
promoting the solutions we have
developed, but also by learning
how to make the business
effective for everyone. It is not an
easy challenge, but it is certainly
within our reach.
The Chiller & Heat Pumps Business Unit,
which deals with all the products in the
catalogue for the production of hot and cold
water, is restructuring in line with new business
needs and budget plans. We are slowly filling
the empty boxes of our organizational chart
with new entries that bring charge and skills
necessary to meet the challenges ahead of us.
Not that the work of the “old” employees is any
less important. They often find themselves
occupying a different role from what they used
to do, demonstrating flexibility, resilience,
and a great attachment to the company for
which they have been working for years. I,
myself have been in the company for more
than 10 years, and from my own experience
(purchasing, product development, BU) I can
say that changes certainly bring with them a
lot of work but also a lot of potential for people
and for the organization. Today each of us, in
our own way, and in our roles, is being tested
with a rapidly changing context: adaptability
to situations and a positive approach will be
fundamental in daily challenges. I sincerely
thank all my colleagues for their committed
effort!
The continuous support of the central
functions (Chief Technology Office, Industrial
Operations, Human Resources, Planning
and Control, Purchasing, Marketing) the
coordination with them and with the other
Business Units in my opinion, will be the key to
overcoming this delicate transition and growth
period. In this way we will be able to create an
authentic sense of belonging to one company.
In the long term the more we feel part of a
common goal for a better future, the more
we will be ready to support each other in
tackling the difficulties we encounter along
the way without falling into unnecessary
criticism or recrimination. Managers are
responsible for communicating business
choices effectively, we all have the task of
making ourselves available and to behave with
loyalty and professionalism!
Concretely, I can tell you that our BU has
seen the transfer of the production line
C02 from M14 to M22: this is the first step
of the industrial evolution of our company.
Colleagues from Pavia and Treviso have
shown commitment and dedication, even
if I can’t hide that we have faced, and we
are still facing some difficulties related to
the transition. Many hours of training, many
colleagues who had to adapt to new products
and new production methods, which involved
reduced lead times and different skills from
those which they were accustomed to.
Technical and production experiences are
being measured daily on new projects and on
4 production plants, and sometimes also and
with the support of colleagues from Japanese
factories. Discussions arise and that healthy
as the passion for the work you do emerges,
it is not always easy to find a common way
to satisfy the customer, but we give it our
all! And the customer is at the centre of our
reasoning: it is he who we must listen to and
conquer with the quality of our products and
our professionalism regardless of where we
design and produce our units.
I am really convinced and proud to be
part of a team that, working together, will
bring value to the MELCO Group, through
“Changes for the Better” that contains a
continuous stimulus to do something new
every day and to improve what has been
done up until yesterday ... without fear
of change but with the confidence to do
better!

HR GALLERY
Sono passati oltre 2 anni da
quando è stato detto “cambierà
tutto anche quello che non
pensiamo”. E così è stato: a partire
dalle divise in produzione, per
passare poi all’organizzazione
per business unit (BU Chiller &
Heat Pumps, BU HPAC e BU AHU,
Rooftop Units & Terminal), alla
riorganizzazione della rete vendita
con il processo d’integrazione
con le filiali europee di Mitsubishi
Electric e l’avvento dei 3 cataloghi
commerciali suddivisi per
segmento (Comfort, Process e IT
Cooling).
industriale.
Il nuovo piano per i 7 stabilimenti italiani,
condiviso ad agosto 2017 con il management
aziendale e presentato a tutte le RSU,
ha comportato a fine dicembre 2017
il trasferimento della linea C02 per la
produzione di unità bi-compressori dallo
stabilimento di Mignagola (TV) a quello di
Valle Salimbene (PV).
Ora
i rack cooler.
stabilimenti molto vicini (Valle Salimbene e
Zeccone).
i risultati migliori. In tutto questo ricordiamoci
sempre il nostro motto e quindi let’s go for
“changes for the better”.

NEW FOOTPRINT
KEEP CALM, È ARRIVATO IL NUOVO FOOTPRINT INDUSTRIALE
THE TEAM
KEEP CALM, THE NEW
INDUSTRIAL FOOTPRINT HAS
ARRIVED
It’s been over 2 years since we thought
“everything will change, even things we
can’t imagine”. And so it has been, starting
with the uniforms in production, then
moving on to the organization by business
unit (BU Chiller & Heat Pumps, BU HPAC
and BU AHU, Rooftop Units & Terminal), the
reorganization of the sales network with the
integration process of Mitsubishi Electric
European subsidiaries, and the arrival of 3
commercial catalogs divided by segment
(Comfort, Process, and IT Cooling).
Clearly, the industrial structure could not be
left out of these profound changes, driven
both by industrial logic and by a strong focus
on maintaining know-how. After over a year
of evaluations and proposals shared with the
MEHITS’ board and MELCO headquarters in
Tokyo, the first 3 steps of the new industrial
structure have been approved.
The new plan for the 7 Italian plants, shared in
August 2017 with the company management
and presented to all the unions, involved the
transfer at the end of December 2017 of the
C02 line, for the production of dual compressor
units, from the Mignagola plant (TV) to that
of Valle Salimbene (PV). It is one of the most
industrialized lines of the Veneto factories,
so the goal of the transfer was not just the
roller conveyors and equipment, but also
and above all the production processes. This
was made possible thanks to the availability
and skills of both M14 and M22 colleagues,
who were able to integrate themselves in the
best possible way with new production and
quality standards. All the colleagues of Valle
Salimbene (production, quality, warehouse,
and logistics) worked side by side with their
M14 counterparts, according to their job,
directly at the Mignagola plant. The result of
the transfer for now is partial and there is still a
lot to do, but we are sure that together we will
reap the rewards with an important result!
Subsequently we started the transfer of the
production of the air handling units from M13
to M14: who would have thought that overhead
travelling cranes would have appeared
even in Mignagola? Here too we had the
goal of making changes to the production
organization model by introducing the concept
of flow production and takt time advancement,
already typical of previous Mignagola
production lines. The M13 production of AHUs
was organized in single stations manufacturing
cells, moving the production to M14 we are
introducing this change for non-regulated air
handling units.
The transfer was completed in April as
foreseen in the initial plan, and the support
of the Treviso colleagues in Belluno, which
started in January, was very effective so as
not to lose any efficiency and to keep the
performance levels up from the start.
Now we have begun a new kaizen yard for the
takt time planning of the new AHU line in M14,
this exercise will be essential for achieving the
budgeted volumes for this product.
The next step (and third transfer step) will
cover two Mignagola production lines for
telecommunications and rack coolers.
The completion of this transfer is scheduled
for August. Training and coaching, a critical
part of each step, has been launched in May,
to be able to limit inefficiencies and possible
inconveniences for our customers. In this way
we will be able to improve the synergies within
the HPAC business unit, which will concentrate
its business in two plants (Valle Salimbene and
Zeccone) which are close to one another.
Finally, even if not directly involved in transfers
between factories, even the Zeccone (PV)
plant has undergone a profound reorganized
layout with a takt time flow production to
manage all the units in a single close control
plant that previously were assembled in the
two, Zeccone and Mignagola, plants.
In the last year, significant investments
have been made by the group to allow
these transfers, with the idea of increasing
production capacity for all business units,
so as to be able to meet the commercial
challenges that await us.
The ability to MEHITS to know how to
reorganize quickly and effectively will be the
real challenge in an increasingly unpredictable
market, where only those who know how to
react quickly will achieve the best results.
Throughout all of this we always remember our
motto and therefore let’s go for “changes for
the better”.

Il cuore della Nuvola è il
fantastico auditorium da
1850 posti.
Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling
nuovo Roma Convention Center.
Ecco
dell’auditorium.
dell’edificio. La centrale termofrigorifera è
composta da 5 pompe di calore polivalenti
ERACS-2WQ3202 e 2 refrigeratori di liquido
FOCS2WCA 9604, tutti condensati ad acqua
e tutti a marchio Climaveneta. Le pompe di
calore polivalenti sono in grado di produrre
acqua calda e fredda simultaneamente
sfruttando il recupero nella produzione di
entrambi i liquidi e quindi massimizzando
l’efficienza energetica dell’edificio durante
tutto l’anno. Nella centrale la produzione
di fluidi avviene a diverse temperature a
seconda delle diverse esigenze degli impianti
periferici.
pannelli radianti, infine negli uffici e in altre
zone comuni della parte interrata sono
stati installati fan coil ad incasso, sempre a
marchio Climaveneta.

THE PROJECT
ROMA CONVENTION CENTRE LA NUVOLA
Climaveneta units
installed at Roma
Convention Centre
Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT
Cooling Systems, through its brand
Climaveneta, has supplied the HVAC
units for the new Rome Convention
Centre.
The project, designed by Architect Fuksas,
was developed in three distinct bodies: a
hotel of 439 rooms, 7 suites and a wellness
center; an underground area, which includes
smaller auditoriums, meeting rooms, annexed
services and parking; and the teak, which
houses the congressional area, with the
modular rooms, that can accommodate up to
6,000 seated people and the so-called Nuvola
with its 1,850-seat auditorium. If it is difficult
to capture the charm of the Nuvola enclosed
in the teak, from the outside, from nearby it is
very striking due to the interaction of shapes
and lights, the attention to detail, the choice of
finishings and cutting-edge materials.
The new conference center has been
designed and realized with the aim of
providing guests with the highest level
of wellbeing during the events. Lights, air
conditioning, acoustics, services, everything
has been designed to strike end-users.
Hence, different rooms have different air
distribution systems, depending on their use,
position and, above all, different volumes.
Materials have also been chosen for their
capability of ensuring the correct air and light
transfer as in the case of the siliconized and
micro-perforated glass fiber towel chosen
for the structure of the Nuvola, or for their
suitability to insulate, making at the same time
the best acoustics, as in the case of the hand-
curved wooden of the auditorium. Finally, all
the technical systems are completely hidden
in the false ceilings and in the Nuvola steam
to combine the maximum functionality without
disturbing the view, while ensuring a total
comfort in all areas.
To this end the central air-conditioning system,
which is based on variable-flow units, allows
the system to optimize the energy consumption
considering the real thermal loads of the
building. The plant room consists of 5 ERACS-
2WQ3202 multi-purpose heat pumps and 2
FOCS2WCA 9604 liquid chillers, all water-cooled
and all Climaveneta branded. Multi-purpose heat
pumps are able to produce hot and cold water
even simultaneously by exploiting the recovery
in the production of both liquids and thus
maximizing the energy efficiency of the building
throughout the year. In the HVAC plant, liquid
production takes place at different temperatures
depending on the different needs of the
secondary circuits. In the conference halls there
are all air systems, while the systems used for
common areas and the Forum lobby are radiant
panels, finally in the offices and other common
areas of the underground level air is distributed
through built-in fan coils, Climaveneta branded.

GRAN TEATRO
DI RABAT
Il Gran Teatro di Rabat, in Marocco è un
edificio futuristico attualmente in costruzione,
disegnato dall’architetto Zaha Hadid.

esposte.
Pertanto, quando è giunto il momento di
sostituire le vecchie unità di condizionamento,
è stata scelta una soluzione a marchio RC,
in grado di garantire la massima affidabilità.
Scendendo nel dettaglio, sono stati installati
41 climatizzatori ad acqua refrigerata ad
alta precisione, a marchio RC, con una
configurazione d’aria dall’alto e presa
temperatura affidabile.
in maniera efficiente e puntuale.
The Louvre
Formerly a royal palace, the Louvre has
embraced the history of France for eight
centuries. Intended as a universal museum
since its inception in 1793, today is the world’s
most visited museum.
Considering the extensive art collection that the
Louvre houses, the temperature and humidity
is of utmost importance. Thus, when it came
time to upgrade the air conditioning units, a
RC solution was chosen. Going into detail, 41
chilled water high precision air conditioners,
RC branded, with an over airflow configuration
and air in-take from the rear for a total cooling
capacity of 2,645 kW were installed.
These units achieve excellent heat removal,
ensuring the highest energy efficiency and
reliable temperature. Thanks to an advanced
algorithm, Adaptive Set Point (ADS) the units
instantaneously detect the actual thermal load,
and the chillers are able to adjust accordingly.
MUSEO IKEA
vera e propria meta turistica. I quattro piani di
esposizione includono stanze arredate, cataloghi,
elettriche. Grazie all’avanzato sistema free-cooling
Ikea Museum
The Ikea Museum, is a 7,000 sqm structure
located in Almhult, Sweden. It is housed in what
was once the very first IKEA store, opened in 1958
and celebrates the company’s 70 years of history
and is expected to become a tourist attraction.
The four floors include fully furnished rooms,
old catalogues, living spaces of the future and
exhibits dedicated to the store’s most popular and
not-so-popular items.
Considering the high number of visitors, the
museum requires a reliable and efficient
HVAC system both in visitor areas and in
technical rooms, in order to ensure a pleasant
visiting experience, in line with the values of
environmental respect celebrated by Ikea all
over the world. For this reason a NX/K 1214P
air source chiller with scroll compressors by
Climaveneta was installed for the air conditioning
of the museum. The local temperate climate has
made it possible to equip the cooling system of
the technical rooms with 2 NECS-FC chillers. As a
matter of fact thanks to the Climaveneta advanced
free- cooling technology system, it is possible
to use outdoor temperature as a free source for
cooling much more often than traditional free
cooling chillers, thus maximising the energy
saving achievable.
PRECISIONE ESTREMA NEL CONTROLLO DI TEMPERATURA E UMIDITÀ
THE PRODUCT
compressori ON/OFF, l’efficienza dell’unità soprattutto
Mauro Melis, IT Cooling Product Manager
Coordinator:
Luigi Rosso, Technical Manager Business Unit
HPAC:
facevano parte dell’offerta Climaveneta per l’IT
Cooling.
In museums, but also in sectors such
as tobacco, textile, and pharmaceutical
industries, the temperature and humidity

storage of goods, such as works of
art, or in clean rooms, where tests and
measurements are carried out.
i-NEXT MTR PRECISE is the most dependable
and efficient solution developed for these kinds of
applications even in low or no-load conditions. The
dedicated software, EVOLUTION+, reduces of the
refrigeration capacity from 100% to 0%, so the unit
can maintain control of the temperature and humidity
with maximum precision even on low or no heat load.
Thanks to the combination of the hot gas re-heating,
the modulation of the refrigeration capacity through
the inverter compressor and to a precise regulation
of steam production, i-NEXT MTR PRECISE ensures
an accurate calibration of temperature and humidity
(± 0.3°C and ± 2% R.H.).
Responding to the strict requests of museum
applications or, more generally, mission-critical
applications does not necessarily mean forgetting
energy-saving strategies. i-NEXT MTR PRECISE
combines the advanced DC inverter compressor
technology with that of the EC fans contributing
to increased efficiency especially at partial loads
if compared to traditional systems with ON/OFF
compressors.
But let’s hear what the colleagues who actively
contributed to the development of these units
think:
Mauro Melis, IT Cooling Product Manager
Coordinator: “The most important feature of this
product is the accuracy of its regulation, +/- 0.3 °
K in terms of temperature, and +/- 2.0% in terms
of relative humidity while the most prestigious
competitors declare +/- 0.5 ° K, and +/- 3.0%
respectively. On top of this we can add a very
high energy efficiency as the precise control of the
cooling power output is the result of a combined
action of an inverter compressor and the post-
heating of hot gas and not of an inverter compressor
and a modulating electric heater. The MEHITS range
is the most complete with versions with air delivery
from above and below.”
Luigi Rosso, Technical Manager Business Unit
HPAC: “This product was born as i-PRECISE under
the Climaveneta brand and therefore our M14
colleagues were in charge of its development. With
the reorganization into segments, its production has
been moved to the Lombardy plants, where we are
slowly learning about it and other products that were
part of Climaveneta’s IT Cooling offer. Like all the
changes, we are addressing this on multiple fronts,
but I am convinced that this experience will be useful
for us in the development of new products: always
better performing and more reliable.”
EXTREME PRECISION IN TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY CONTROL
fornitura di UTA a Torre Hadid e all’adiacente
centro commerciale, MEHITS è in fase di
seconda fornitura per la stessa torre: gruppi
frigo e nuove UTA. Come per la volta scorsa
le centrali verranno consegnate smontate
e le diverse sezioni saranno assemblate
direttamente in loco, perché gli spazi angusti
dove devono essere installate le macchine
non consentono la movimentazione di unità
complete.
Siamo quindi stati in una rinnovata M14
a vedere le UTA, o meglio le sezioni UTA,
destinate al nuovo grattacielo e ad incontrare
i colleghi impegnati nella produzione di unità
completamente “nuove” per loro.
It is not a real place of art but
from an architectural point of view
it is definitely a masterpiece!
This is the tower under construction in one
Milan’s new neighbourhoods, one of the liveliest
and most modern in Europe: CityLife. After the
first supply of AHU units to Torre Hadid and the
adjacent shopping center, MEHITS is currently
supplying the same tower with refrigeration
units and new AHUs. Like before, the units will
be delivered disassembled and the different
sections will be assembled directly on site,
because of the narrow spaces where the
machines must be installed would not allow the
complete units to be manoeuvred.
We therefore went to the renewed M14 to
see the AHU, or rather the AHU sections,
destined for the new skyscraper and to meet
the colleagues who are producing completely
“new” units.

with an aim to grow the business and the

Cosa ti piace di MEHITS:
Da New Entry posso solo riportare le
mie prime impressioni, e il feeling è
molto positivo. Il fatto che un’azienda ti

As a new entry I can only share my first

The fact that a company provides

“Changes for the Better” per te
significa:
Cambiamento significa nuovi stimoli e
vivere nuove avventure e vedere cose
nuove.
What does ‘Changes for the Better’
mean for you?
Change means facing new stimuli and
new challenges. If you are lucky to deal
with people who think like you then it’s a
walk in the park. As a long-time camper,
I experience a change of direction,
compared to a pre-established route,
as an opportunity to experience new
adventures and see new things. So now
that I’ve exposed myself as camper, like
the ones that slows you down on the
mountain roads!

Send a special greeting to your new

SPOTLIGHT
Fare la differenza significa anche
saper essere un appoggio e un aiuto
per i colleghi, saper imparare e saper
insegnare e trasmettere il know-how
acquisito. Lavorare fianco a fianco con
chi ha molta esperienza alle spalle
mi ha insegnato a pensare a tutte
le sfumature che stanno dietro alle
scelte, anche a quelle che sembrano
banali. È gratificante quando si
riesce a lavorare tutti insieme con lo
stesso scopo, sentendosi apprezzati
come professionisti ma anche come
persone.
Making a difference means being
able to support and help colleagues,
knowing how to learn and being able
to teach and transmit the know-how
acquired. Working side by side with
those who have a lot of experience
has taught me to think about all the
nuances behind choices made, even
those that seem trivial. It is gratifying
when you can work together with a
common purpose, feeling appreciated
as a professional but also as a person.
I’ll conclude by saying that for me
achieving objectives, in the broadest
sense, means working to create a
more efficient, safer, and higher quality
product that meets the demands of
the market. This goal is never really
achieved because there is always
a better way to do something the
technical world in which we work.
Ciò che mi ha sempre affascinato
del mio lavoro è stata la possibilità
di confrontarmi con culture
completamente diverse dalla nostra
e riuscire a trovare soluzioni che
potessero essere vincenti per
entrambe le parti.
Essere spesso a contatto
con Clienti ti porta a dover
affrontare temi che cambiano
in continuazione, ma ti fa
comprendere che ognuno di noi
ritiene che il proprio “problema”
sia diverso dagli altri e necessiti
di un’attenzione particolare. Solo
quando realmente si riesce ad
ascoltare correttamente, si trova
la strada per una soluzione,
qualunque sia il tema.
What has always fascinated me
about my work is the possibility
of confronting cultures that are
completely different from ours and
being able to find solutions that are
fruitful for both parties.
Being in touch with customers
means that you constantly face
ever evolving situations, but it
makes you understand that each
of us believes that our “problem”
is different from other people’s
problems and needs special
attention. Only when you really
listen properly, you can find a
solution, whatever the topic.

the desire to get involved and learn new things I decided to face this challenge with my
experience gained in the field. If I could go back in time, I would definitely do it again!“

JOB ROTATION
Within the important reorganization process we
are currently experiencing, there have been many
new positions open that have been best covered
internally.
Job Rotation allows you to grow and enrich your skills while remaining
within the same organization, but with different roles, sometimes with
even more responsibility! The effectiveness of the tool is demonstrated
by the number of colleagues who have changed roles in the company
in the last year, you’ve got to see to believe!
MATTEO FARINA
in meglio ovviamente.
di ogni tipo qui all’After Sales.”
“I’ve experienced this process with determination and desire to change, to change
for the better. I can’t hide my happiness for my new role within the company, hoping
to be the right person for this position. Already being in the company and above all
having worked for 8 years in the testing department has given me excellent product
knowledge, this technical skill will certainly help me to deal with problems of any
kind here in After Sales.

LA CASA SULL’ALBERO:CHIARA, LA SORELLA MAGGIORE
Tutto ha inizio ad ottobre:
compongo il numero di telefono

Alibandus e chiedo se posso
fare volontariato nella loro casa
famiglia conosciuta come “La
Casa sull’Albero”.
Decido così di diventare la sorella maggiore

aiuto a lavare i piatti, chiacchiero ed ascolto

Perché ho fatto questa scelta? Non lo so
con certezza! Sicuramente alcuni libri letti
nell’ultimo anno mi hanno fatto capire quanto
destabilizza l’intero gruppo. O quando si
sentono in prigione e cercano di “evadere”
e sfidano noi adulti comportandosi male.
volte non accettano le nostre risposte. A volte
vorrebbero essere più liberi, e non capiscono
che le regole sono fondamentali anche per
la conquista della libertà. A volte vogliono
conoscere il mondo attraverso i miei occhi. La
cosa più bella è quando sorridono. Niente è più
vero di un loro sorriso! Che poi ancora non ho
capito quanto io stia aiutando loro e quanto loro
stiano aiutando me!
The Tree House:
Chiara, the big sister
It all started in October: I dialed the
telephone number of the Alibandus
educational community and asked if I could
volunteer in the family home known as “The
Tree House”.
In this way I became the older sister of
Tommaso, Alberto, Kamal, Ermal, Khalid, and
Marco (names have been changed for privacy).
For the last six months every Tuesday after
work I become a “big sister”. I prepare food,
help wash dishes, chat, and listen to music
with them. Above all I listen to them. Why did I
make this choice? I don’t know for sure! Surely
some books I read in the last year have made
me realize how lucky I am to have been loved
and pampered by my family and especially
how my family has helped me step by step in
all phases of my life, encouraging me to study
and engage every day, giving me a foundation
to create a future. I felt the need to give some
of the love I received and that allowed me to
become what I am, to try to help people who
have not been as fortunate and who do not
know where to start to building their future.
Sometimes it is very difficult, if for example,
someone has had a bad day, it destabilizes the
whole group. Or when they feel like they are in
prison and try to “escape” and challenge us
adults by behaving badly. They are tough, they
are 14 to 17 years old, they are difficult, each
one is different and needs specific attention.
Sometimes my heart shatters when I see in their
eyes the lack of a mother’s love and a sense of
security, or when I see in one of them crying,
and they try to hide the tears on their face so
as not to be seen by others. They are full of
questions, but they do not always externalize
them. Sometimes they do not accept any
answers. Sometimes they would like to be freer,
and they don’t understand that the rules are
also fundamental for the conquest of freedom.
Sometimes they want to know the world through
my eyes. The best thing is when they smile.
Nothing is truer than their smile! I still don’t
know how much I am helping them or how
much they are helping me!
I recommend reading these two books, which
inspired me: “Seven Flowers of Mustard” by
Conor Grennan and “One” by Nicolò Govoni.
By buying them you will be donating to their
associations.

LEISURE TIME
To stay on the topic of this issue, we dedicate this section
Fieldtrip, to the #THEARTS. With the aim of showcasing and
promoting the dissemination and development of culture, MEHITS
has joined the Mart Membership, as a Corporate Company, for
the current year. This membership allows all employees of our
group to have free access to 3 museums: Mart and Casa d’Arte
Futurista DePero in Rovereto, and Galleria Civica of Trento, simply
by presenting their company badge. Many took advantage of this
opportunity to visit the and other affiliated musuems – let’s listen
to some of their stories.
ARTE SELLA by Adriana Ostrovica
I’ve only had the opportunity
to visit Arte Sella in Borso
Valsugana, taking advantage of
the Mart card that I was lucky
enough to receive. I went to
see Arte Sella on April 21st.
Although the weather conditions
weren’t great, the clouds and
a few drops of rain could not
obscure the beauty of this place,
which combines the generosity
of nature with the works of art of
various artists from all over the
world. The complete itinerary
includes the walk along the
ArteNatura path that is about
three kilometers on the southern
slope of Monte Armentera. From
the garden of Villa Strobele
you can access the ArteNatura
route, while you can continue
to the Malga Costa area and
the Vegetale Cathedral. Along
this route you can admire the
works of the various artists,
and at the same time enjoy the
environment: different types of
wood, the presence of rocks,
monumental trees, etc. It was
very interesting to see how art
and nature come together in a
continuous dialogue, drawing
mutual nourishment.
I really liked how in this
natural museum, the art and
the artist are not the absolute
protagonists, but it is Nature that
completes the picture. Moreover,
all the works are made from
natural materials, so what is
extracted from the environment
as a basic material for the
construction of the works, is
returned in another form, refined
and elaborated, with a strong
message, of a thought and
feeling, to appreciate, admire.
and protect the world where we
live. It takes about three hours to
complete the route. Three hours
of total immersion in another
world, for complete relaxation
of body and mind, for an artistic
and cultural enrichment in
nature.
I recommend it to everybody!
solo Arte Sella in Borso Valsugana,
Monte Armentera. Dal giardino
di Villa Strobele si può accedere
al percorso ArteNatura, mentre è
possibile proseguire per l’area di
Malga Costa e la Cattedrale Vegetale.
Lungo tutto questo percorso si
possono ammirare le opere dei vari
artisti, e allo stesso tempo godere
dialogo continuo, traendo nutrimento
reciproco.
Mi è piaciuto molto constatare come
in questo museo naturale, l’arte
e l’artista non sono i protagonisti
assoluti, ma è la Natura che completa
il quadro. Inoltre, tutte le opere
sono realizzate da materiali naturali,
quindi quello che viene estratto
dall’ambiente come materia base
per la costruzione delle opere, viene
restituito in un’altra forma, raffinata
ed elaborata, con il forte contenuto di
un messaggio, di un pensiero ed un
sentimento, per apprezzare, ammirare
e proteggere il mondo dove viviamo.
La durata totale del percorso
è di circa 3 ore. 3 ore di totale
immersione in un altro mondo, per
un rilassamento completo del corpo
e della mente, per un arricchimento
artistico e culturale in mezza alla
natura.

MY VISIT TO THE MART by Michele Caberlon
The idea of going to the Mart came to me - if I remember correctly - the first Sunday after the
communication of the convention. Since it was a gray day, I thought it best to take advantage of the
opportunity to enter the museum for free. Not wanting to go there alone I decided to invite a friend,
but not being an art lover, I had to convince her, promising to give her my free entry! ‘Fortunately’ the
museum had not yet been informed of the convention and to apologize for the inconvenience they let
us both in free! The exhibition offers varied art work, particular in some cases but overall interesting.
The exhibition that I preferred was definitely “In font we trust” because I like reflective and precise
things, just like the works of that exhibition.
THE MART by Marco Simion
Having already planned two days of
relaxation for end of February, the good
news of the MEHITS partnership with the
Mart in Rovereto made me lean towards
Trentino, to combine a day in the mountains
with a cultural visit to a museum that I
hadn’t visited by many years.
On Sunday I went to the Mart after having
refreshed myself with excellent bread
dumplings and having driven down from
Mt. Bondone in the snow. I visited a very
interesting exhibition called “Magical
Realism”, dedicated to an artistic trend that
existed between the 20s and 30s mainly in
Italy and of which I was not previously aware.
Magical Realism, developed as a reaction to
historical avant-gardes such as Expressionism
and Futurism, is characterized by a recovery
of the “realist” pictorial tradition inspired by the
Renaissance classicism of the 14th and 15th
century, but where surreal and suspended
environments introduce a “magical” element
full of imagination and wonder. In particular,
the works of Cagnaccio di San Pietro and
Cesare Sofianopulo impressed me, and
I promised myself to look them up once I
returned home, my visit to the MART was the
cherry on top of a great weekend!
In particolare,

MEHITS MEMO
FORMAZIONE TEAM LEADER
Nei mesi di marzo, aprile
e maggio si è svolto un
corso di formazione che
ha visto come protagonisti
alcuni colleghi dei Plant
di Pavia: i Team Leader
di produzione e di
magazzino!
esigenze formative avvertite dai colleghi.
Per effettuare questa analisi abbiamo utilizzato
il DISC: uno strumento di rilevazione di
attitudine comportamentale somministrato a
tutti partecipanti del corso. A partire dall’analisi
formativo mirato. La scelta è stata quella
di strutturare un percorso che permettesse
di lavorare per rafforzare la comunicazione
efficacie, la leadership e la delega e abbiamo
affidato lo sfidante compito a Lorenzo Tagliani:
docente di lunga esperienza che, dopo la
laurea in Ingegneria Chimica, ha maturato
una solidissima esperienza in Azienda,
nella gestione tecnica, di produzione e di
operation.

Giovanni Bellini
Lasciamo quindi la parola ai
protagonisti:
Let’s let the participants speak:
Alessandro Marenghi: “Ringrazio l’azienda
per questa opportunità. Cercherò di mettere in
atto i suggerimenti ricevuti dal docente: sapersi
mettere in modalità di ascolto, fare domande
aperte, avere un pensiero laterale vedendo le
cose in diverse angolazioni e soprattutto mai
pensare che qualcosa sia impossibile.”
“Thanks for this opportunity. I will try to put into
practice the suggestions received from the
teacher: knowing how to put yourself in listening
mode, ask open questions, have a lateral thinking,
seeing things in different angles and above all
never thinking that something is impossible. “
Andrea Vettorato: “L’esperienza del corso è
risultata molto proficua, mi agevolerà in ambito
lavorativo con l’obiettivo, in particolare, di
supportare i colleghi senza incorrere in conflitti.”
“This course was very profitable for me, it will help
me in the workplace with the aim, in particular, to
support my colleagues without incurring conflict.”
Agostino Inglese: “Ringrazio l’azienda per il
corso di formazione. Mi ha aiutato a cambiare
alcuni modi di rapportarmi con i colleghi,
facilitandomi nel mio lavoro.”
“I appreciate the company for providing this
training course. It helped me to change some
ways of relating to my colleagues, which
facilitates my work.“
“This experience was very interesting, I consider it
useful also outside of work in terms of how to deal
with colleagues and people. I learned not to be
too impulsive in my answers, thanks to the simple
but very effective way Lorenzo explained things.”
nostro agio, grazie.”
“An interesting experience and with many facets,
I’m sure I will need them both in the workplace
and in life. Lorenzo is a person who knows how to
put all of us at ease, thanks.”
“I liked being able to interact with my colleagues
by exchanging thoughts and opinions. It helped
me a lot to understand how to relate to other
people and to improve some aspects of my
character.”
Stefano Passera: “Senza dubbio la migliore
formazione fatta all’interno dell’azienda, consigli
crescita personale. Non vedo l’ora di poter
partecipare ad altre giornate di formazione.”
“Without a doubt this was the best training I’ve
done in MEHITS, advice on how to have a better
approach with people but above all many ideas
for personal growth. I cannot wait to participate in
other training days.”
TEAM LEADER TRAINING
During March, April, and May, a
training course was held with
some of our colleagues in Pavia:
the Production and Warehouse
Team Leaders!
For some time, there was the intention to
work with them on the development of
transversal skills. We therefore decided
to start with a structured analysis of what
could effectively be their main training
needs.
To perform this analysis, we used DISC: a tool
used to detect behavioural attitudes, which
was administered to all course participants.
Starting from the results of this analysis, their
profiles were compared, we defined the main
areas to address with a targeted training
course. The choice was to structure a path
that would allow us to strengthen effective
communication, leadership, and delegation
and we entrusted this challenging task to
Lorenzo Tagliani. Lorenzo is long-time teacher
who, after graduating in Chemical Engineering,
has gained a solid experience in companies,
specifically in technical management,
production, and operation. Involving the
colleagues of HR and Operations in the
course preparation, we created a practical
and interactive course, which took the form of
three intense days, that were full of stimuli and
useful tips.
