**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** MOMENT FACTORY AWARDED $1 MILLION IN FUNDING BY CANADIAN MEDIA FUND TO DEVELOP INNOVATIVE XAGORA SOFTWARE FOR VISUAL ARTS APPLICATIONS MONTREAL (November 10, 2010) – Montrealbased Moment Factory was recently awarded $1 million in funding for ‘Experiential Media’ from the Canadian Media Fund (CMF) to complete development of its cutting edge XAGORA software. XAGORA allows for the convergence of multiple sources of content for different delivery modes such as interactive videos and light shows controlled by audience reactions. XAgora offers compatibility with an array of mediums including the World Wide Web, mobile technologies, video games, movies and the stage. The power of the XAgora platform comes from its ability to remove the traditional boundaries and constraints that exist when engaging with and transforming a space. Moment Factory was invited by Montreal’s Quartier Des Spectacles to create a permanent interactive installation using components of its XAGORA software. An interactive screen, which currently lights up ‘La Vitrine Culturelle’ , is now equipped with a hightech system, enabling passersby to interact with shapes generated by 35,000 LED light bulbs. Components of the XAgora software are currently being used in museums, entertainment destinations and live shows. Moment Factory is renowned for creating extraordinary, immersive and interactive visual installations and shows ranging from: Mosaika , which illuminated the Federal Parliament Buildings in Ottawa with a light and sound panorama, to the energy efficient Sails of Light Show which enraptured visitors to Vancouver during the Winter of 2010 with a dynamic canvas of colours and themes projected onto five giant sails at Canada Place. These and other intuitive installations such as Elixir, the multimedia animation of the largest outdoor fountain in Canada, projects for Cirque du Soleil’s Aquamagika in the Canada Pavilion at the Universal Exposition in Shanghai and as a component of the luxurious Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai. “With the financial participation of the Canadian Media Fund, Moment Factory will continue to work towards the development of XAGORA for commercial use,” said Eric Fournier, Executive Producer at Moment Factory. “XAGORA was created in response to a growing demand for immersive interactive spaces and facilities. This investment will allow Moment Factory to remain
