STUDIO ASSIGNMENT - FINAL PROJECT
JAKARTA MUSEUM OF MODERN ART
Location:Jakarta, IndonesiaSize:22.620 m2Mentor:Suryono Herlambang, Veronica Ghanda
Located in existing site of National Gallery in the prime area of Jakarta, a new program for Indonesian museum of mod-ern art is added.
In respect of the existing old building and in respond of limited site, the new building volume is ‘cloaked’ by a large white ‘canvas-like’ facade. Which is behaves both as a neutral background, and a media facade that generates unlimited possibilities of architectural ‘faces’.
This strategy decontructed the notion of architecture as a static physical object to a more dynamic outcome, as in the spirit of contemporariness that has no end.
The heritage build-ing takes a subtle white backgound that strengthen its presence.
Main museum volume is ‘hanged’ to create an axis of plazas as well as to re-duce the impact of new program bulk.

THE SOUPKELAPA GADING TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Location:Jakarta, IndonesiaSize:Land: 24 Ha, Program: 480.000 m2Mentor:Suryono Herlambang

THESIS PROJECT
TELKOM CORPORATE TOWER
Thesis Title:Symbolization of Corporate Power Through Architecture. Case Study: PT. Telkom, Tbk. Headquarter OfficeLocation:Jakarta, IndonesiaMentor:Basauli U. Lubis, Indah Widiastuti
Architecture has become a tool of symbolic repre-sentation of power for a variety of entities from time to time. In the modern era of capitalist economic system, the party that is leading in the economy de-termines the ones who have the power, that makes the position of the corporations is more significant when compared to the cities and nations.
This thesis discusses three main topics: power, corporation, and symbol, in the implementation on architecture. The selected case study companies is PT. Telkom, Tbk., where the level of specification of the case lies in the company’s position as a public company and state-owned enterprises, as well as the influence of its identity, vision, and company brand to the symbolic translation.
Considerations of the development of the thesis deals with several things, such as delivering the symbolic meaning of corporate power that is more appropriate for the present time, and what theories and methodologies is to be used to achieve these goals.
The pursuit of the design method is expected to be logical, the first step is to find the right signified words, and second is to further define the symbolic signifier(s) which is achieved in dividing architec-tural elements into three polars: form, function, and technic, where the balance of all three supports the achievement of the symbolic message that is ex-pressed. This thesis is intended to offer an alterna-tive definition of power within a corporation, as well as an alternative method for applying those symbols into architecture.
The tower unites all of Telkom’s companies in one tower, generating an internal collaborative value and sense throughout the company.
In terms of public programs, the design decon-structed the standard tower which have concen-trated public spaces and a linear circulation, re-sulting a scatered public spaces from the bottom of the building through the top.
The spaces are tied together with a system of looping public circulation that has a double core on each farthest side and and escalators on each public spots. This condition creates a simboliza-tion of non-visual tranparency in architecture.
The public spaces can be used for various oca-tion regardless of it connection to the company, this symbolizes the democratic and transparent value of Telkom’s corporate culture.Public spaces is also shown from the outside through a contrast colour of red in silver.
