Introduction
• It is a new form of PMT which includes both
all India Pmt and Delhi Pmt.
• It was the first attempt to the students in
2013.
• Students who want admissions in MBBS/BDS
have to qualify this exam with eligible marks.

What is NEET
• NEET stands for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.
• NEET has been introduced by Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment(MHRD) Govt. of India and Medical Council of India(MCI)
•
NEET has been introduced for:-1.Undergraduate(NEET-UG)
2.Postgraduate(NEET-PG)
• NEET-UG will be the common entrance test for MBBScourse across the country for 355 govt. and private medicalcolleges/universities with 43,740 seats and 300 dentalcolleges with 24,840 seats .

NEET Pattern (Proposed)
• NEET is proposed to be conducted on 5th May2013.
• The application forms shall be available in 2nd
week of November 2012.• A student will be able to apply offline or
online based on his/her convenience.
•Exam Pattern Physics:45Qs; Chemistry:45Qs;Botany:45Qs; Zoology:45Qs; Total Time:3hours(180 minute).

NEET Merit List & Rankings
• National as well as State level ranking or merit
list will be prepared for all the appearing
candidates.
• Rank usage for NEET qualified students:
1.National Rank: A student can use national
rank to take admission in any of the NEET
affiliated MBBS colleges in India.

2.State Rank: A student can use State Rank to
take admission in any of the affiliated colleges
in the state from where he/she has done class
XI & XII or holds a domicile.

Eligibility criteria for NEET
• XII Academic Eligibility(Minimum percentage):
-50% for general category students & 40% for
SC/ST/OBC category students in Physics,
Chemistry, Biology taken together.
- Student must pass Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and English subject in individually
• Age Eligibility(Minimum percentage):
- Minimum 17 years at the time of admission

- Upper age limit relaxed by 5 years for
SC/ST/OBC.
• Number of Attempts: A maximum of three
attempts.

NEET participating MBBS Colleges
• A total of 355 MBBS & 300 Dental colleges
have been listed by MCI which will fall under
the aegis of NEET 2013.
• These colleges shall offer a total of 43,740
MBBS seats & 24,840 Dental seats across
India.

NEET controllers & Syllabus
• The NEET has been recommended by HRD
• Medical council of India (MCI) has accepted
the recommendation and notified final
syllabus for the upcoming NEET on its web site
• The notified syllabus for NEET-UG has been
achieved after reviews of various State
syllabus as well as those prepared by CBSE,
NCERT and COBSE
