那時凱撒奧古斯都出了一道上諭，叫天下的人都要登記：這是在季黎諾作敘利亞總督時，初次行的登記。於是，眾人各去本城登記。若瑟因為是達味家族的人，也從加里肋亞納匝肋城，上猶大名叫白冷的達味城去，好同自己已懷孕的聘妻瑪利亞去登記。 他們在那裡的時候，她分娩的日期滿了，便生了她的頭胎男兒，用襁褓裡起，放在馬槽裡，因為在客棧中為他們沒有地方。在那地區有些牧人露宿，守夜看守羊群。有上主的一個天使站在他們身邊，上主的光耀環照著他們，他們便非常害怕。天使向他們說： 「不要害怕！看！我給你們報告一個為全民族的大喜訊：今天在達味城中，為你們誕生了一位救世者，他是主默西亞。這是給你們的記號：你們將要看見一個嬰兒，裹著襁褓，躺在馬槽裡。」忽有一大隊天軍，同那天使一起讚頌天主說：「天主受享光榮於高天，主愛的人在世享平安！」 （路 2: 1-14）

5“By your perseverance you will secure your lives.“ (Luke 21:19)

善待受造物，尊重他、牠、它！　聖經生活靈修

　 世青分享繼 2005 年德國科隆那一屆，這次是我第二次參加世青，也是在尚未超齡的情況下參加的。想當年我還在讀大學，入世未深；如今已是教書八年的「阿叔」。不過隨時間過去，我好像越來越不清楚自己在做甚麼。感謝天主！在這次世青中，我得到了些啟發。

樂天神父提醒：「你們為最小兄弟做的，就是為我做的。」就像聖高比神父在被壓迫下仍然照做工作，在每一個最微小的本份上做好自己可做的，在天主面前已經可問心無愧了。的確，天主的計劃，我未必明瞭所有，與其苦惱尋找自己做得好、做得不好的地方，倒不如集中心力盡力做下去更有意義了。

平常人都以學生的成績、操行去評價一個老師，但這卻不能完全客觀地反映教育的全部。只要一個老師是全心全意地為他們著想，給他們提供意見，陪伴著他們度過一生人才得一次的青少年時期，就如撒種的比喻中，老師已完成撒種的責任，至於種子能否發芽並茁壯成

長，且看學生接下來自己如何經營土壤，也交由天主的陽光雨水的照顧他了。何時可以收成，怎樣去收成， 天主自會安排。常言道「求學不是求分數」，我做得如何， 還是留待我回歸父家時給我分數吧。

現今社會衣食豐富、物資充裕，很多人都未必能夠時刻警醒去珍惜和尊重生命。大家舉筷前，不妨看看面前的美酒佳餚，感激它們貢獻了自己的生命，給你維持健康體魄。它們應受尊重。在網絡上，每天都見到被人類不仁道地虐待、濫殺而換取回來的魚翅、阿膠、鵝肝、熊膽等等，宰殺過程，恐怖驚心。皮革用品既不能果腹，在保暖上又並非沒有替代品，我們又何必要在其他動物身上取其保命之皮囊來換取自己的虛榮心呢？人人都懂得「講」平等，但對著每天的「犧牲」，又可曾嘗試平等地對待對方呢？對於不斷上演的殺戮場面，又會有多少人心痛流淚呢？請看看那些掙扎求存的生命，希望大家有所反思。我們必須教育下一代：「善待受造物，尊重生命」。讓我們一起跟教宗方濟各祈禱：

「全能的主，祢臨在於宇宙萬物，以及最卑微的受造物中。祢以祢的柔和溫婉籠罩天地萬物，求祢傾注祢愛的力量，使我們能夠保護生命及美善。求祢使我們滿溢平安，好讓我們能夠彼此以兄弟姐妹相待，而且己所不欲，勿施於人。

哦，弱小者的主，請助我們拯救這世上被拋棄和被遺忘的人，他們是祢的眼中瑰寶。請癒合我們的生命，好讓我們能保護世界，而非從中掠奪，好讓我們能播種美善，而非污染破壞。

求祢打動那些只因貪圖利益就犧牲弱小者和大地的人的心。

求祢教導我們發現萬物的價值，默觀祢的化工時讚嘆不已，並承認在邁向祢永恆光輝的旅途上，我們與每一個受造物都是緊密相連。

我們感謝祢天天與我們同在。

在我們為公義、仁愛及和平的奮鬥中，求祢支持我們。願祢受讚頌！ 阿們。

人物訪問

接續過去幾期的內容，堂區通訊繼續以本堂牧民議

會成員為訪問對象。今期的受訪者為議會中文秘

書——李清華 Eric。

踏實的慕道路途

Eric 小時是在佛教小學讀書的，升上基督教的中學

後，雖然已經「決志」了，可是他認為自己當時在

信仰上可謂空白一片。真正認識信仰，是從報讀本

堂慕道班開始的。Eric 坦言當初跟太太一同慕道，

是為了讓女兒可以入讀天主教學校，得到較好的教

育和人性培養。他說班上還有不少夫婦，熟絡以後，

感覺很好。他覺得這樣一個慕道課程，跟「決志」

相比，真的踏實許多。

轉眼就到了領洗前避靜了，他說這次避靜仿如一支

信仰的強心針。當時帶避靜的是黃漱芳修女，直到

現在，Eric 還記得她提到的其中三點：第一，「盡

人事，聽主命」，這已成為 Eric 的座右銘；第二，

不要將信仰倚賴在個別神父或修女身上；第三，要

把信仰建基於個人跟天主的關係之上。Eric 於 2012

年領洗，領洗帶給他平安。這份平安，幫助他適應

工作的變遷，還讓倆夫婦堅強的守護兩個小朋友。

工作順逆都賴天主照料

Eric 一直從事市場和廣告工作，之前也試過自己經

營生意。這幾年因轉換工作，收入不及以往穩定。

他坦言為此或多或少有點擔心，不過卻不失平安：

「收入也許不及以前，但天主自有安排，幸得太太

一直默默守護，撐起半邊天，生活尚算穩定。」他

說現在還沒有真正的發展方向，他在祈禱中懇求天

主賜予智慧，好讓他能夠摸索到新路向，並有原動

力和延續性去一步一步的前進。提到祈禱，Eric 說

藉著祈禱，可以不斷的跟天主談話，並獲得指引：

「天主尊重我們，讓我們自己作決定，但祂會給我

們提示、智慧；我們要做的，就是自己努力，串通

人脈，把事情做好。」

能者多勞——堂區網頁、聖言宣讀、議會祕書

講到堂區服務，Eric 最為大家熟知的，就是擔任

聖言宣讀員了：「在讀經台上讀經，讓我壯膽；在

準備信友禱文時，讓我學會如何簡要地表達；而在

整個準備過程中，更增加了我接觸聖經的機會。」

Eric 現時更是牧民議會成員，擔任中文秘書，主要

工作就是負責會議紀錄。會議內容繁多，言來語往，

要準確地記錄會上各人所表達的內容，的確不是一

件容易的任務。大家也許不知，Eric 也是堂區網頁

的更新功臣。他根據舊網頁的原有內容，重新設計

版面，前後工作了一個月，才告完成，「後來傳訊

組成立了，歐陽神父把網頁和堂區通訊都交給傳訊

組負責。看到成果可以延續下去，我很高興。」功

成身退，而且是「功成而弗居」，真是我們教友的

典範。

持守信仰，寬宥包容

話說回頭，Eric跟太太慕道時，大女兒已幾歲大了，

而就在領洗之後不久，小兒子也誕生了。不過，事

情並不順利無憂。在兒子出生之前，肺部已出了問

題，私家醫生甚至認為孩子不能要。Eric 跟太太覺

得孩子是天主所賜的，商量之後，決定讓小兒子自

己選擇是否出生，他太太也轉至公立醫院。公立醫

院的醫生們竭盡所能，孩子在媽媽肚內就抽了好幾

次肺水。雖然小兒子最終順利出世，可是第二天便

要接受一個大手術割除部分肺葉，到兩歲時又再接

受第二次手術，受盡手術苦楚。可是小兒子的生命

力實在頑強，天主保守護佑，孩子健康成長，現在

已經四歲了。這段經歷，實在是Eric一家依恃天主，

「盡人事，聽主命」的確鑿見證。

最後一點，Eric 有感而發，希望大家都能「律己以

嚴，待人以寬」。他覺得不少教友在信仰上都很虔

敬，可是在平日生活上，卻可能少了點包容：「包

容真的很重要，我也未必能做到時刻包容，但起碼

要心存警惕吧。自己受點苦，不讓人受氣，那就沒

有爭吵了。沒有爭吵，大家自然開心喜樂。」信哉

斯言！希望大家都能像Eric一樣，體現堂區「感恩、

服務、見證」的宗旨。

牧職團專頁 － 慈悲禧年後感

“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” (Luke 23:42)

今年普世教會慶祝了慈悲特殊禧年。對堂區而言，

這也是特別的一年。蒙主恩澤，本堂獲選為教區七所

聖門所在地之一，感激湯漢樞機為本堂開啟聖門。

過去一年，來到本堂朝聖跨越聖門的，既有團體，

也有個人、學生，人數超過 7500 人。因著天父的慈

悲，我們見證到堂區團體的合作精神：共融、服務、

奉獻。我特別感謝本堂的廿二位領禱員，他們熱誠接

待朝聖者——不單有本地和海外教友，更有特地從內

地來港的神父、修女、教友。仰賴天父的恩賜，大家

實踐了本堂的核心價值：感恩、服務、見證。

在這慈悲禧年，堂區舉辦了兩次境外朝聖活動，分別

遠赴日本和緬甸。期間，我們造訪當地教區，並親到

聖人殉道之地，藉以追慕省思，深化信仰，體驗朝聖的

精神。

八 月 下 旬， 我 們 先 到 日 本 福 岡 和 長 崎 朝 聖。

長崎西北面的平戶是日本天主教的發源地，因聖方濟

沙勿略（St. Francis Xavier）1550 年抵達平戶，

才開始了日本的傳教歷史。當時天主教在日本經歷了

激烈的迫害和鎮壓，大浦天主堂就紀念了 26 位

殉道聖人。這 26 位殉道聖人中，有三位是十多歲的

青少年，最小的只有 12 歲。往後的年代，相繼有

數以萬計信徒殉道，當中不乏父母小孩，甚至全家

遇害的。有些殉道的小孩子，讓我特別感動——當時

政府為教訓他們，切斷他們中間三隻手指，以把他們

標示為非人的動物；但這些小孩子仍然堅定不移，

還安慰父母要堅守信仰，不要懼怕。

日本教會雖然經歷慘痛的鎮壓歷史，但地下教會依

舊屹立不倒，信仰之火，深植人心，流傳至今。

我們在福岡和長崎的主教座堂，跨過聖門，獻上禱

告，更得到主教的接待。

十月下旬，我們舉辦了緬甸朝聖文化探索之旅，

行程包括仰光、東芝、曼德勒、蒲甘等地。我們分別

在仰光、東芝、曼德勒三個總教區跨越聖門，感謝

當地主教、神父、修女的接待，也讓我們深入瞭解了

當地的傳教歷史和教會發展。

　　

慈悲滿澤神形哀矜

「你們要醒寤，應該準備。」( 瑪 24：42-44)

緬甸人口約六千萬，是信奉佛教的國家。天主教

教徒只有 1.5%，約有 70 萬。我們見證了這個緬甸

的姊妹教會，如何在艱難歲月中發揚並堅守基督的

福音，活出基督的愛。團友為實踐慈悲禧年的神形

哀矜行動，帶同物資，造訪多間孤兒院，把物資和

關懷，送給院內孤兒和弱智人士。

除 了 境 外 朝 聖， 堂 區 也 在 十 一 月 十 二 日 為 慈 悲

禧年結束，特意舉辦了「慈悲足印．感恩之旅」朝聖

活動，藉此追慕並體驗 155 多年前，傳教士先賢

攀山越嶺到大埔傳教的勞苦艱辛。活動有兩條路線，

A 線以城門水塘為起點，B 線則由本堂起步，兩線

在碗窰聖伯多祿小堂遺址會合，一起走回聖堂，越過

聖門，為翌日十三日的禧年閉幕彌撒準備心靈。

在這慈悲禧年中，堂區鼓勵到訪本堂的朝聖者，

做形哀矜愛德奉獻，捐款用途有二：一是與香港明愛

合作，資助國內貧困兒童的教育；二為捐助非洲

畿內亞比紹有需要婦孺的醫療工作。衷心感謝朝聖者

的支持，我們籌得約 20 萬元的善款，令人鼓舞。

以上所言，都是此一禧年的實在經歷，盡是有形

可見的果實。我深信藉著慈悲禧年，每位信友都得到

天父的恩寵，心靈都有了平安與喜樂，這則是不可見

的果實。無論可見和不可見的果實，我們都要為今年

的慈悲禧年，感謝天父！

是的，慈悲禧年已閉幕了！試想想，我們追求的

是什麼？願天父的慈悲，繼續賜我們力量，讓我們

平安地去面對生活中的各種挑戰，誠懇地履行天父

的使命，好能讓我們在信仰生活中，持守不捨，更加

關心、照顧在貧困中和有各種需要的兄弟姊妹。

時值將臨期，教會禮儀提醒並幫助我們期待耶穌

基督的來臨，好好準備自己的心靈，在聖誕節體驗

天使的話：「天主在天受光榮，主愛的人在世享

平安！」祝願大家聖誕快樂，主寵日隆！

A Truly Extraordinary Year This year, the Universal Church celebrated the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.

For our Parish, this year was also a special year, for, by the grace of the Lord, our church was designated as one of the seven churches in the Hong Kong Diocese where the Holy Door of Mercy was opened, and we thank John Cardinal Tong for officiating in the opening ceremony of the Holy Door for our church last January.

In the past year, the number of visitors coming to our church to “cross” the Holy Door exceeded 7,500. Caring for and leading so many visitors was not an easy task, and I wish to express special thanks to the 22 “Prayer leaders” of our parish, who welcomed the pilgrims with zeal and cordiality; they served and guided not only local laities and overseas faithful, but also priests, sisters and lay believers coming from mainland China. By the grace of the Heavenly Father and His mercy, with the collaboration of all the Parish groups and associations we were able to live out our parish core values: thanksgiving, service, and witness.

The Parish organized two overseas pilgrimages: to Japan and Myanmar (Burma). During the trips, we visited local dioceses, and met priests and sisters. The journeys helped us to reflect and meditate on the significance inherited in our faith, to deepen our belief, and to enable us personally to experience the spirit of pilgrimage.

At the end of August, we went to Fukuoka and Nagasaki in Japan for a pilgrimage. Hirado was the starting point of the Christian faith in Japan, because St. Francis Xavier arrived at Hirado in 1550; that event wrote the first pages in the history of evangelization in Japan, and the Far East.

However, not long after, Christianity in Japan experienced an era of violent persecution and strong suppression. The Tai Po Catholic Church (大浦 ), in Nagasaki, is a church built to commemorate the story of the 26 Holy Martyrs. Among these 26 Holy Martyrs, three were young youths, with the youngest being only 12. In the years that followed, tens of thousands of faithful were executed for the sake of preserving their faith; many being the members of a whole family, parents and children etc. I was particularly moved by those martyred children: the government at that period punished them by amputating three fingers (index, middle and ring fingers) to label them as animals, not human beings. But, those children still held firm to their belief, and comforted their parents by telling them not to be afraid.

Though the Japanese Church experienced such a horrible and sorrowful history of suppression, yet, the faith survived in the “Underground Church” for more than two centuries. The Japanese faithful passed down the flames of faith from generation to generation, and the fire still burns today.

We “crossed” the Holy Doors of Mercy in Fukuoka and Nagasaki Cathedrals, and offered our prayers; we were also warmly welcomed by local bishops, and priests.

In October, the Par ish organized a second pilgrimage-cum-culture exploration trip to Myanmar. The itinerary included visits to Yangon (Rangoon), Taunggji, Mandalay and Bagan. Similarly, we also prayed at, and “Crossed”, the Holy Doors of three Archdioceses at Yangon, Taunggji and Mandalay respectively. We sincerely thank the local bishops, priests and sisters for their cordial reception; they also explained to us the history of local evangelization and the development of the Church in that country.

From the Pastor-Reflections on the Jubilee of Mercy

10 「你們悔改吧！因為天國臨近了。」( 瑪 3：2)

Myanmar has a population of about 60 million, the majority of which are Buddhists; Catholics form only about 1.5%, approximately 700,000. We witnessed how this Church has propagated and preserved the Gospel of Christ in difficult years, and lived out the love of Christ. In the spirit of the “Jubilee Year”, we reached out and visited a few orphanages, distributed gifts, and showed care to and concern for orphans and the handicapped.

Apart from the overseas pi lgrimages, on 12 November our Parish also organized a local pilgrimage activity named [Footprints of Mercy • Thanksgiving Pilgrimage] to mark the conclusion of the “Jubilee Year”. With this pilgrimage we wanted to trace back to the events which happened 155 years ago, and to experience how early missionaries from Tsuen Wan crossed over the mountains and reached Wun Yiu, Taipo, to preach the Gospel. Starting from the Shing Mun Reservoir, more than 100 people walked and prayed for several hours, before reaching the old ruins of St. Peter’s Chapel at Wun Yiu; there we met up with other pilgrims and walked back to the church, and“crossed”the Holy Door, in preparation for the Holy Mass marking the conclusion of the Jubilee Year”held the following day.

In this “Jubilee Year”, the Parish encouraged pilgrims coming to our church to give charitable donations as an exercise of corporal works of mercy. The funds collected are for two purposes: (1) cooperating with Caritas to provide educational assistance to poor students inside mainland China; and (2) providing necessary medical assistance to needy women and children in Guinea-Bissau, Africa. The donations received amount to about HKD200,000, and we are extremely grateful to the pilgrims for their generosity and support.

This is merely a brief report of what has happened during this “Jubilee Year”; of course, these are fruits visible to everybody. I am deeply convinced that through this “Jubilee Year”, our Heavenly Father has bestowed His graces upon each individual faithful, and filled our hearts and minds with the gift of forgiveness and peace. These are the invisible fruits. For all these Graces, we must thank our Heavenly Father for granting this“Jubilee Year ”to us.

The “Jubilee Year” has been concluded! What next?

I believe the merciful Lord will continue to grant us strength and peace to face the various challenges in our daily lives, and to help us to fulfill the missions entrusted to us. We shall be persistent and persevering in living our faith, and showing care and concern for those brothers and sister who are in need.

In this Advent season, the liturgy of the Church will help us to prepare for Christmas, and once more celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ. After the experience of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, with renewed hearts and minds we welcome the Angels message: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests”.

聖母聖心小學慶祝德蘭修女封聖活動

恩主教書院開學禮儀

為慶祝德蘭修女獲冊封為聖人，天主教聖母聖心小學於 9月 23 和

30 日，分別讓高、低年級同學欣賞了相關影片，以了解聖女的生平

和她的慈善工作。

當日下午同學齊集有蓋操場，學校牧民助理先簡短介紹德蘭修女

的生平。隨後，同學欣賞了一段仁愛傳教女修會在印度服務的真實

紀錄。牧民助理向同學指出，德蘭修女的工作是出於她對耶穌的愛：

「因為德蘭修女很愛主耶穌，所以每一次服務時，都將那些貧病者

視同耶穌一樣看待，盡心盡力照顧他們。」

最後劉校牧分享說：「德蘭修女最初創辦這服務，只憑自己一人

之力，但到她逝世時，已有數千名修女加入她的行列了。德蘭修女

藉著愛而感染其他人加入，就像耶穌基督當年所做的一樣。」劉助

理更鼓勵同學，要從自己的家庭開始，學習關愛他人。將來長大後，

更可參加社會的善慈團體，跟隨聖德蘭修女的教導，關懷社會上的

貧窮弱小。

本校於九月一日舉行開學禮儀，邀請張樂天神父主禮。

新學年主題為「生命」。張神父在講道時提及「生命」

源於天主，每個人的生命因天主按照自己的肖像造成，變

得神聖、尊貴；「生命」是天主主動參與夫婦愛的結合，

是天主的恩賜、愛與美善。

神父同時以剛封聖的德蘭修女為生活例子，指出平凡的

人本着愛德的精神，也能做偉大的事，藉此鼓勵同學於新

友禱文形式獻上祈禱，在同學、學校、社會的範疇內向天

父祈禱，期望獲得天主的祝福。

禮儀完結後，葉德明校長歡迎及介紹新任教職員，並講

述暑假期間學校進行的各項優化工程。

堂區消息（一）耶穌聖誕九日敬禮及修和聖事，將於12月16日（五）至12月24日（六）連續九天在運 頭街聖堂舉行，禮儀時間請參閱堂區通告。

（二）耶穌聖誕子夜彌撒，將於12月25日（日）午夜12時在恩主教書院禮堂舉行。

（三）農曆除夕謝主彌撒，將於2017年1月27日（五）晚上8時在運頭街聖堂舉行。至於新春 求恩彌撒，則於大年初一1月28日（六）早上舉行，時間請留意彌撒時之堂區報告。

因活動日期或有改動，一切資料以堂區網頁、壁報、彌撒後之報告為準，敬請注意。

　　借用陳鴻基神父的一篇分享：「講求效率忙碌

是現代生活的標記，忙碌、競爭的生活似乎變得相

當理所當然。一個家庭中，父母親都忙碌，就容易

錯過陪伴孩子的成長期；夫妻間的忙碌容易錯過培

養感情的時光；親友們彼此忙碌不互相聯絡，就容

易疏離。過度的忙碌容易有情緒上的壓力、焦躁不

安，無法享受容易錯過當下美好的人、事、物。」

試想想聖經所載瑪爾大和瑪利亞的故事（路 10:38-

42)。我們像瑪爾大一樣，過於為俗務操勞嗎？還是

像瑪利亞般，一早已坐在耶穌跟前？

　　作為堂區一份子，聖心歌詠團的各位團員也是各有各忙碌的，但到要服務的時候，大家都會停下來，

因著每人的恩寵，指揮的指揮、司琴的司琴，唱歌的唱歌，一起為教會服務。正如教宗方濟各所說：「耶

穌基督鼓勵每一個人，都為天主奉獻出微小的一份；天主會將他們的天賦、善行，加倍結出果實。」

主啊，感謝祢悅納我們微小的奉獻！請幫助我們在忙碌中仍保持開放的態度，常備一顆喜樂的心、微笑的

面孔和一顆善心去看待所有人，體察身邊各人的需要。亞孟。

聖心歌詠團供稿

　　在過往兩三年，歌詠團經歷多番人事變動，團員的離世及退出，使歌詠團陷入艱難時期；但非常感恩，正當我們感到徬徨與不知所措的時候，上主安排了一位新指揮和兩位姊妹加入，使團體頓時生氣勃勃。　　新指揮自有新要求，比方在彌撒前開聲。大家

都要克己，提早起牀。老實說，這比我平日還要早。

由於每主日都有不同的主旨及意向，選曲小組必須

細讀該主日的舊約、書信、福音內容，以確保選曲

切合主旨，保持彌撒的連貫性，使教友能以心神和

歌詠對上主作出雙倍的祈禱。

　　即使歌詠選得好，若未能將意境詠唱出來，又

如何能帶領教友達至祈禱的境界？因此新任指揮除

了音準以外，也要求團員好好掌握歌曲節拍甚至歌

詞內容，有時更花上一個多小時來操練一首聖詠。

其實音調唱得準已經不錯了，起初總覺得指揮要求

是否過高；但日子有功，團友也開始自己提升要求，

務求精益求精。但願我們的服務能對主日參與彌撒

的教友產生影響，最終能達致「歌詠是雙倍的祈禱」

的境界。願上主的恩寵常與大埔的教友同在！

What did the Pilgrimage mean to you, going through The Holy door?

Pilgrimage for me is referring to a journey of life, towards God's kingdom. It is a renewal and strengthening of faith, especially when we enter through the Holy door, because going through the Holy door itself is walking with Jesus. One way of accepting Jesus into our life, is to go to confession, to cleanse our body and soul. Whatever sins we have committed will be absolved and will be forgiven through confession. Somehow, in that sense, we can start a new life, a new beginning. It was really a great opportunity for me to join that spiritual gathering. I was full of LOVE and blessings during that day. Hopefully, after all these things, I can see myself grow more spiritually and have an intimate relationship with GOD.

The Pilgrimage this year, 2016, was the fourth time I have joined the Pilgrimage. Every year we visit different places with different experiences. One thing that I can say is….This is my journey to enter the Sacred places, that’s why I didn’t want to miss it. As a Catholic and faithfully devoted, when I went through the Holy Door, I felt the solemnity. It seemed that it had a mystery inside. I couldn’t feel any worries, it gave me the feeling of being safe. That’s why, in my experience a Pilgrimage, especially this Jubilee Year of Mercy, going through the Holy Door. It was the most important and useful way to make our devotion to deepen our spiritual belief and make us more knowledgeable.

Since it’s my first time to go through the Holy Door, I felt excited even though I was worried for my son’s health. When I entered through the Holy Door, I prayed for my son. I asked God to heal him. I can’t explain my feeling when I touched the cross with my left hand, I felt a certain friction but I did not mind, I went and knelt down and continued praying for my intentions. When I was kneeling down, I asked God to help my son, and also, that God would teach and guide me, so that I can fight and overcome these trials. I deeply prayed also that God would send someone who can voluntarily make a blood donation to the Red Cross to help my son as he needed one. On our way back to Tai Po for the conclusion of the pilgrimage, I received an SMS message from my friend informing me that 3 people from our town wanted to donate blood, my friend accompanied them to the Red Cross center. I thank God for these 3 people who were qualified to donate their blood for my son. At midnight my husband received a call from the Red Cross that the 2,000 cc blood needed was ready to be collected. Now, I truly believe, if you go and heartily pray, God will answer your prayer!

Pilgrimage for me is a continual journey, not only for ourselves and the people around us, but with God who sent Jesus, so that we may realize how he sacrificed his life for us. Especially when going through the Holy Door. It was a great opportunity for us that we may receive more blessings from the Lord. And to know, learn and experience something meaningful about our spiritual life. We are also showing our love to God that we may feel his presence in our daily lives. So we should make a fruitful deed in order to make God happy. Let our faith grow and be alive. By doing so, Jesus taught us how to care and love the people around us, by extending our help to those in need. Prayer is also a good help because it is a powerful tool towards God. Upon entering through the Holy Door, God will also touch our hearts, that we may be strengthened and be more aware of how God is important to us. Keep the journey of faith and little by little we may realize how thankful and blessed we are in God's presence. GOD BLESS US ALL…

I have been in Hong Kong for four years. On my first day off, my wife took me to the IHMP in Tai Po. I was astonished by the comeliness of the Church, for it was pristine, fully air conditioned and properly arranged. Later, I became a member of the Saturday Group English Choir. “What do you think about our Parish?” - This question gave me an insight on how competently the Parish is managed. I am satisfied with the governance by the Parish. As a member, thereof, I will be giving my best effort to render assistance or help for the Parish. “Is there anything you would like to change?” - In totality, there is nothing, except in facility matters, for example, the male C.R. sometimes having a water interruption. In policy matters of the Church I am in favor of having a ‘Strict Policy’ coupled with a lenient policy.

Our parish is the house of God and we are here to serve God in different ministries. When I joined the Choir Ministry, I felt simple, but as I have stayed longer and longer, I enjoy being with the group. I have met sisters, brothers and also our priests that are friendly and kind. In this parish, I feel part of a family. Being an OFW is so hard to be far away from our families. Being occupied in different activities inside our parish, has made my sadness go away. I would like to improve our service, especially with the Choir Ministry. We need to practice more and give ourselves wholeheartedly to Our Lord.

It would be very helpful to us, if we could have an Evangelization Class, especially for those who are not familiar with the Bible. In fact, all of us here would benefit from knowing more about the Bible. For us, Filipinos here in Hong Kong, the IHMP Church serves as ‘Our home away from home’, where we experience being with a real family. We treat each other like brothers and sisters, joyfully sharing our lives, from meals to sharing stories, helping each other whenever someone is feeling down. Most of all, we love one another as an authentic Christian. We are very grateful, having our shelter, almost the whole day on our days off.

As I was born into a Catholic family, and have grown up with my Catholic Faith. The most important thing we do is to attend Mass every Sunday as our obligation to the Lord, and we celebrate this in the Church, we call The Immaculate Heart of Mary, where I attend and listen to the ‘Word of God’.

“What do I think about our Parish?” I think our Parish is well organized and I can feel and see, that we, who attend the Church, have an overwhelming relationship, as brothers and sisters as a family. The solemnity of the Mass fills our souls. I am satisfied, and I don’t think there is anything that I would like to change! We are here increasing our Faith in the Lord, so as one Parish, we preserve the teachings we have to follow. We just need to be respected and not to be taken for granted. Our Parish leads the way on the right path!
