By MKS. HIRAM DARROW "£he Islip. Town Recreation Pro- gram at the Bayport School last week included a Mardi Gras Day last Thursday with the King, Stev- en Goodchild and the queen Alice Kugile.' The comic ' strip .costume award went to Cathy McMann, as Gale Evans, "the- funniest costume was worn by Vera Spucek as a hobo, the prettiest was. Barbara Branagan as a bride, and Nanette Mead won the award^for the Map- per age costume. Two sisters, Di : ane ahd Lally won an award for their portrayal of Jack and JUL Last Friday, Miss Bogel and Mrs." Olson took 30 children to Sayville to see "Pollyanna" and on Monday a model car-race was held. Tues- day afternoon a "brawn and beau- ty" contest was held for all ages. Wednesday morning a movie was -shown and in the afternoon a kite race was held. Today there will be a pet show when all dogs must be leashed and muzzled on the play- ground and in the afternoon a hula hoop contest will be held. Tomorrow there will be a hobby show. Mel Beckel, director of this program in Bayport has four as- sistants: Miss Barbara Bogel and Mrs. Barton Olson of Bayport, and the Misses Caroline Argondizza and Marion Crispo from Sayville. Miss Constance Black of Second Avenue was the guest of honor recently at a bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Vincent Miranda, in Patchogue. Miss Black, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Black will be married on August 21st to John Ferrante, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mario Ferrante, of Patch- ogue. The nervous crew sped her to'Brook- haven Memprial Hospital. At 12:15 p.m. baby girls began, to arrive. Within three minutes,/three in- fants were born. y:V The girls, named Debra, Diana, and Doreen, weighed 'in at- five pounds, seven and' a.' quarter ounces; five pounds, .11 and a half ounces; and four pounds, eight ounces. They were delivered by Caesarean section by Dr. Milton Rosenberg of Patchogue. The 30-year-old mother and her daughters are doing fine, accord- ing to hospital authorities. The ob- server claims, he was then knock- ed off a stool and given a bear hug which he did not appreciate. He is pressing Jthird degree assault charges. Harvey (Butch) Perry appeared before Justice of the Peace Victor Orgera in the Sayville Court House Friday to face charges brought by Carmine Delia Marco Jr. of Swayze Street. According to police, the alleged disagreement with Perry's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wheeler, began in a candy store at Railroad Avenue and Center Street on July eighth. Although purely verbal, it, was loud. The proprietor asked them to leave, which they did. Mother and son continued their discus- sion on the street. According to Delia Marco; Perry re-entered the store and expressed his dislike of questions about the matter.. The case has been adjourned for all purposes until September 12th, and the accused man is free on $200 bail. -,. In other* court action this week, a 20-year-old man from Patchogue who evidently has a graphic opin- ion of Sayville residents, appear- ed before Judge Orgera on a dis- orderly conduct charge. gram at the Bayport School last week included a Mardi Gras Day last Thursday with the King, Stev­en Goodchild and the queen Alice Kugile.' The comic ' strip .costume award went to Cathy McMann, as Gale Evans, "the- funniest costume was worn by Vera Spucek as a hobo, the prettiest was. Barbara Branagan as a bride, and Nanette Mead won the award^for the Map­per age costume. Two sisters, Di: ane ahd Lally won an award for their portrayal of Jack and JUL Last Friday, Miss Bogel and Mrs." Olson took 30 children to Sayville to see "Pollyanna" and on Monday a model car-race was held. Tues­day afternoon a "brawn and beau­ty" contest was held for all ages. Wednesday morning a movie was -shown and in the afternoon a kite race was held. Today there will be a pet show when all dogs must be leashed and muzzled on the play­ground and in the afternoon a hula hoop contest will be held. Tomorrow there will be a hobby show. Mel Beckel, director of this program in Bayport has four as­sistants: Miss Barbara Bogel and Mrs. Barton Olson of Bayport, and the Misses Caroline Argondizza and Marion Crispo from Sayville.

Miss Constance Black of Second Avenue was the guest of honor recently at a bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Vincent Miranda, in Patchogue. Miss Black, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Black will be married on August 21st to John Ferrante, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mario Ferrante, of Patch­ogue.

East Patchogue — Triplets have been born here to a Bayport couple, defying odds of 9,600-to-one. ••; . V

Mrs. Frank Mauro of 347 Mc-Connell Avenue, Bayport, boarded the Community /Ambulance at 11:45 a.m. last Thursday on the' orders of Dr. Herman Le Bow. The nervous crew sped her to'Brook-haven Memprial Hospital. At 12:15 p.m. baby girls began, to arrive. Within three minutes,/three in­fants were born. y:V

The girls, named Debra, Diana, and Doreen, weighed 'in at- five pounds, seven and' a.' quarter

ounces; five pounds, .11 and a half ounces; and four pounds, eight ounces. They were delivered by Caesarean section by Dr. Milton Rosenberg of Patchogue.

The 30-year-old mother and her daughters are doing fine, accord­ing to hospital authorities. This is, the second set of triplets delivered at Brookhaven. The first set ar­rived in September, 1958.

He has just retired after serving for 20 years. The Bayport-niue Point Hiqh School Rnd the Sayville High School summer bands will hold a combined outdoor concert in the Bayport High School parking field by the flagpole next Wednesday at seven p.m. Everyone is Invited and admission is free. When x-rays reveal that he may be fitted with a brace collar, he will probably be transferred to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, He faces a lifetime of immobiliza­tion. All motion from the neck down is prohibited by his severed spinal cord. •>

Local stores have containers on display for contributions to the* Ballweg fund. The Blue Point Fire Department has collected money in a gallon jug on display at their bazaar. Two nurses from Blue Point have donated five eight-hour shifts each for his care, and the women of Blue Point are sponsor; ing a food and gift sale tomorrow with all proceeds to be given to the distraught family.

Also pitching in are children in Blue Point where Mrs. Ballweg has been employed as a school teacher. Some are selling lemon­ade, others flowers in efforts to raise money.

A 20-year-old Sayville ban was having an interesting argument with his mother when an observer questioned him about it. The ob­server claims, he was then knock­ed off a stool and given a bear hug which he did not appreciate. He is pressing Jthird degree assault charges.

Harvey (Butch) Perry appeared before Justice of the Peace Victor Orgera in the Sayville Court House Friday to face charges brought by Carmine Delia Marco Jr. of Swayze Street.

According to police, the alleged disagreement with Perry's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wheeler, began in a candy store at Railroad Avenue and Center Street on July eighth. Although purely verbal, it, was loud. The proprietor asked them to leave, which they did. Mother and son continued their discus­sion on the street. According to Delia Marco; Perry re-entered the store and expressed his dislike of questions about the matter..

The case has been adjourned for all purposes until September 12th, and the accused man is free on $200 bail. -,.

In other* court action this week, a 20-year-old man from Patchogue who evidently has a graphic opin­ion of Sayville residents, appear­ed before Judge Orgera on a dis­orderly conduct charge. He was arrested for standing on the corn­er of'Main Street and Gillette Ave­nue, Sayville, and cursing at pas­sers-by. Martin Matulcwicz was ar­rested by Ptl. Frederick L. Phin at one a.m. Friday and lodged in the first precinct jail until the court opened in the morning. Ho plead­ed guilty and was fined $25.
