Fingered (3 Notes) Chord Recognition modeadded. Fingered mode renamed [1.2]The new Fingered (3 Notes) Chord Recognition mode hasbeen added. The former Fingered Chord Recognition modehas been renamed to Fingered (1 Note).
This is how the Global > Mode Preference >Style > Chord Rec-ognition Mode parameter changes.
Chord Recognition
This parameter defines how chords are recognized by the auto-accompaniment engine.
Depending on the status of the CHORD SCAN section, theChord Recognition mode is automatically set as in the followingtable:
One Finger You can compose a chord using a simplifiedchord playing technique:
Play a single note for a Major chord to be recog-nized.
Play the root note, plus a white key on the left,for a 7th. For example, play C3 + B2 for a C7.
Play the root note, plus a black key on the left, for a Minor chord. For example, play C3 + Bb2for a C minor.
Play the root note, plus a white and a black keyon the left, for a Minor 7th. For example, play C3+ B2 + Bb2 for a C min 7.
Fingered (1 Note)
With the Lower chord scan mode, play one ormore notes to compose a chord. A full Majorchord will be recognized when a single note isplayed.
With the Full or Upper chord scan mode, play atleast three notes to compose a chord.

Full or Upper chord scan mode, play at least threenotes.
If you play just one note, a unison will be played. If you play a fifth, a root+5th chord will beplayed.
With this mode, you can play rootless and slashedchords, often used in jazz, fusion, modern popand light music. This type of chord recognition isvery useful to play piano chords typical of jazzpiano players. You dont always need to play theroot note, doubling the note already played by thebass track.
Fixed velocity curve added [1.2]The Fixed velocity curve has been added to the Velocity Curveparameter in the Global > Controllers > Hand Controllers page. This option will replace the existing Fix curve.
Velocity Curve
Fixed No dynamic control available. Dynamic valuesare fixed, as in classic organs. When this option ischosen, you can set the fixed velocity value:
Control Channel on MIDI OUT [1.1]The Control channel option has been added to the Global >MIDI > MIDI OUT Channels page. When this special channel isassigned to one of the MIDI OUT channels, MIDI messages aresent on this channel when choosing a SongBook Entry.
The messages sent when selecting a SongBook Entry are the fol-lowing:
An initialization strings, made of the NRPN Control Changemessages #99 (MSB, with value 2) and #98 (LSB, with value 64)in fast succession.
A selection string, made of the two Control Change messagesCC#06 (Data Entry MSB) for the thousands and hundreds, andCC#38 (Data Entry LSB) for the tens and units. The range of theData Entry controls, in this case, is 0~99 (instead of the typical0~127).
This type of data can be used by external editors to receive infor-mations from the SongBook.
For detailed information about remote selection of SongBookEntries, please refer to the User Manual.
Tablet MIDI Preset added [1.2]A Tablet MIDI Preset ha been added. This Preset, that allowsfor synchronizing the SongBook to a software running on a tab-let, or any other function that will be implemented in the future,
has the special Control channel assigned to MIDI IN/MIDIOUT Channel #16.
Microphone and Line In used together [1.1]When the Left In to Voice Processor routing option is selectedin the Audio & Video > Audio In page, you can still use the RightIn to connect a mono line source. The Right In audio signal isreplicated on both Audio Outs. It is also recorded when record-ing an MP3 Song.
SongBook
Synchronizing the SongBook with externalsoftware [1.2]Additional software has been created to work with the Song-Book. You can use Korgs own SongBook Editor to edit singleentries, the SongBook database and the Custom Lists on a Win-dows PC. You can also use BauM Softwares SongBook+ for iPad,or Zubersofts MobileSheets for Android, to synchronize theSongBook entries with a tablet, and read lyrics and sheet musicon the wider tablet display.
Other software is under development. Please check our web siteregularly, for news about their release.
Musical Resources
When upgrading to the new Operating System from a versionprior to 1.1, you also have to update the Musical Resources byusing the Media > Utility > Factory Restore command. MusicalResources are loaded with the Operating System, but must beupdated using this command.
When upgrading from version 1.1, you only have to update theGlobal settings. You may only leave the Global option selectedwhen the Restore dialog appears.

Improvements in OS 1.20
Bug fixes in OS 1.10Bug fixes in OS 1.01
Area Improvement
Boot The start-up procedure is now faster.
Area Improvement
Global Reverb Offset adding reverb to the Microphone
The FX Level parameter (in the MIC SETTING section of the control panel, or the Global > Mic > Effects page) sets the level of the effects on the Micro-phone. When set to 0, no effect should be heard on the Microphone. A bug caused some reverb to be heard when increasing the Global Reverb Offset value (Global > General Controls > Basic page).
Manual Bass and the automatic accompa-niment
Sometimes, activating the Manual Bass did not turn the automatic accompaniment off.
Synchro Start and Quarter Tone
When the Synchro Start function was turned on, the Quarter Tone function assigned to an Assignable Switch or Footswitch did not work.
Copy & Paste of Styles and Perfor-mances
When the Auto Select function was activated for Styles or Performances (Global > General Controls > Interface), pasting a Style or Performance over an existing item was not allowed. Now you can over-write any existing Style or Performance.
Chord Harmony mode and Songs
When playing a Song, the Chord Harmony mode did not work when notes were received from a Songs track (Global > Mic > Harmony > Song Control = Chord).
Scalic Harmony mode
The Scalic Harmony mode did not always work cor-rectly.
RX Noise notes recording
When recording a Style pattern, RX Noise events where recorded as ordinary notes instead of RX Noise events.
Multisample dele-tion
After deleting a Multisample, some Sounds could non longer play correctly.
Deleting a Drum Kits layer
When editing a Drum Kits Key, decreasing the num-ber of layers would cause a default Drum Sample to be assigned to the higest-numbered layer in the next Key.
Area Improvement
Harmony change After stopping the Style or a Song, turning the Split on/off, or choosing a different Chord Scanning mode, the first chord played after the change was not sent to the Voice Processors Harmonizer, unless it was different than the chord already in memory.
Selected Style or Per-formance LED
When choosing a Performance with the Style Change option activated, the wrong Style LED could be switched on when the Style was automatically selected by the Performance.
MP3 Songs, Master Transpose change and Tempo reset
If the Master Transpose was changed, any Tempo change to an MP3 Song was reset (but the Tempo set by the user was still shown in the display).
Transpose on MIDI Master Transpose was not applied to notes sent over the special Chord MIDI channels.
USB Connect Sometimes, the Pa900 internal storage device could not be unmounted properly from the Macs Finder (with Mac OS X prior to version 10.7.5).
